Ian and I killed ourselves trying to see who could hit legbeater swirl first. Neither one of us hit it, but it was fun and I think we'll both get it soon.

Matt's an awesome player. It's cool to have a solid third player kicking with us regularly.

I love the park we play in

Washington Square Park will be cool. I hope we do make it out to that one.

Dude. Matt hit 76 legovers. I'm still not over this. I think he's hustling us.

Legbeater swirl is really weird and tough. Good luck with it.

I hit torque-dyno repeat today in your honor Ian. This means you should come to Cornell Jam.

Speaking of NY tournies...

Jake can't make it to Ithaca, I don't think. I'm working on it. Like torque-dyno repeat.

It is a questionable time and place for a jam (WSP). I think it will be epic.

Today the air was bad to kick. However I still did some stuff I never did before.

Off-side Whirl. Thanks Jake and thanks Matt Cross.

Whirl-far symposium reverse whirl
whirl-dyno-torque
Paradon-whirl

Atomsmasher-butterfly swirl

I kicked pixie butterfly swirl twice too.

The fact that I hit so many whirls is cool, but only because it made me feel unsatisfied about being one-sided, to the point that I had no choice but figure out the other side.

Massive night.

atomsmasher-atomsmasher
atomsmasher paradon both sides
atomsmasher-legbeater
atomsmasher-pixie butterfly
paradon-blur
blur-paradon

Whirl on the offside
ripwalk out of whirl

very close to paradon swirl. Super close.

Matt hit paradon bsos, atomsmasher to symposium mirage on both sides, and lots of other stuff like legbeaters, ducking double-legover, etc.

It's a little early, but Happy B'day Swavomir!

Weird session today. Felt like poop. Ate too much this weekend- weddings, b'days, indian buffets... you know how it is. As a result the session was limited.

first try: ducking paradox symposium mirage. I did it twice.

A whole lot of atomsmashers.

Some blurs. Ripwalks were weak. Legbeaters are hard for me to step out of.

Atomsmasher-atomsmasher makes me feel like my existence is validated. I want to be able to do many in a row. Paradons after legbeaters is also very enjoyable. I can't wait to start linking blurs, legbeaters, atomsmashers and paradons regularly. There is something about it that I physically feel driven to do. I also really enjoy the feel of atomic sets out of paradox mirages. I can sometimes set them really deep by setting them from closer in and this is the sort of thing I need to experience so I can motivate myself to work my toe game in closer.

Whirl is still hard on the off-side. I don't know what to say about that.

Tomorrow I am going to play more seriously I hope.

I'm pissed because I did this amazing drawing for a NYFA tournament image but my scanner broke. I wanted to finish that tonight. I had to proxy some BS via my isight camera to send Barrett. What a waste of a night off.

EDIT: Friday was fun. Had some drink and kicked in Jakes living room. Hit some very long strings in a very small space. Paradon-far symposium revers whirl felt nice.

Hey Steel City guys
For one, in my blog, you'll see a picture of my son in a Steelers jersey. It pained me to do it (Eagles fan), but since my family is from Pittsburgh it was a must do type of thing.

But that's not why I'm writing. Awhile back I mentioned I might be north of Pittsburgh for Christmas (north = Cranberry Twp.. Near Zelionople and Mars). Tentative dates are December 22 - 26. Perhaps (say) Sunday the 23rd we might be able to get together to shred? My folks have a great shred garage (plus my mom will feed you afterwards, just ask Caleb), or I could try to make it down to the city. If we did my place, just about any time is OK. If I came down to the city, I'd be interested in an evening shred so I can put my son to bed before I come. Any of this possible? Interested?

Bob! Hell yeah man, some Cranberry shred would be awesome. There's a chance I'll be in Ethiopia during those dates, but if that's not the case we should definitely get together for some holiday shred!

Awesome session the other day. Ian, Matt, Sam and Myself were all at the park playing, and at one point three of us were wearing our new SCF t-shirts that we screen printed recently. (We still have to make another one for Matt)
When I put mine on, I was wearing black shoes, black shorts, and my longsleeve black SCF t-shirt, and Ian was like "Come on Ninja, let's see vertigo", and I hit it and sealed it with a decent string. It was cool.

Legbeater swirl update: Still hasn't been hit by SCF.

It was very cool, and perhaps decent is being too modest.

Oh, but we are trying.

It was a good session tonight.

Paradon-butterfly,paradox mirage, and osis on both sides, in one string (dropped on the last osis/seal).

Atomsmasher-paradon-torque
Reverse whirl-butterfly-reverse whirl

Toed atomsmasher B2B so many times, and sealed it at least once.

Atomic osis (mega-crispy refraction?) bsos, etc

Some very long strings with more than usual assortments of original tricks.

There was a lot more but I forgot it all. Oh yeah! Paradon-ducking paradox mirage-paradon- ss ear-collision...

Matt hit atomsmasher B2B. I think twice. He's awesome.

Matt hit ducking legover bsos. His links of original double dex moves is growing at a fierce rate.

I hit
dyno-reverse-whirl bsos
2x30+ contacts of infinity-ss butterfly repeat:lol:
paradon-torque/dyno both sides
long strings
strong ducking links

I got so painfully close to atomsmasher-paradon swirl. I am actually furious I did not hit it.

Matt and I both hit ducking paradox mirage to atomsmasher on both sides. I guess Yacob bettter get in on this (I give it within 3 tries)

I hit so many ducking paradox mirages-paradons today but always came short of drilling it as a bsos drill.

Many long strings with lots of dynos and ducking moves. Lots of ducking moves.

dyno-reverse whirl-dyno. So many revers whirls. Good side whirl-whirl, easy hand grab or seal (forget). Whirl is still making more sense on the slow side.

There was more. I forgot it all.

Matt hit a bunch of great bop drills I showed him to start developing his cross body game better. His whirls are getting there on both sides.

At least I can hit reverse whirling swirl on command on my bad whirl side.

While we're at it:

Ducking paradox mirage-paradon repeat would be fun too! (especially since I keep getting close to it ), but yeah, your challenge will help me get into gear, and Matt can also hit all of the components. SCF man, we're getting there!

Kicked with Matt. Epic session for us.

I suggested Matt start trying some stepping sets today, since he has been hit links with atomic in them and schooling his bop/crossbody fundamentals.

He hit (only on one side, and I haven't figured out what's wrong with the other yet):

stepping same side butterfly (many times, and sealed with paradox mirage, same side butterfly, etc)
Ripwalk (sealed well)
blur (sealed once with legbeater!!!)

Aside from that he hit a bunch of great strings. He is very motivating to kick with learn from and teach.

I had a good day too:

Many, many, many ducking paradox mirages. Into paradons, atom smashers, even a legbeater on one side. I hit ducking paradox mirage-butterfly-ducking paradox mirage a couple times. It feels so good. Soon I would like to be doing these with paradons regularly.

Many strings with reverse whirls out of dynos and butterflies. I liked hitting dyno-reverse whirl-whirl. I also identified a (if not the) major mental block in my weak whirl. I may also be closer to understanding clipper set same-side double-over-down. That, however, is for a later date!

After many long strings, many of which were significantly more original than I have ever had, I decided to try paradon rake. After a few minutes I hit it on both sides. I don't personally consider rakes much of a dex, but I guess beggers can't be choosers! So that's three moves now! :)

It was a good day. It's pizza time!

I played two hours of footbag with Matt and Sam while eating pepperoni rolls.

After many, many successful attempts and flux-pm-flux, I finally sealed the last flux with another pm, thus completing that drill. I then hit three consecutive whirls on the good side, dropping on a pm.

I played better than I ever have before. I hit three tries of whirl in a row successfully on my bad side, though I still do not completely feel the motion.

I hit so many long drills today while throwing in a variety of tricks. I am very happy. My first few strings of the day were pretty much amazing for me. I decided after them to use that momentum to push for harder drills. I am a little disappointed that I ended up getting stuck on f-pm, repeat for so long, but there were some benefits of this:

I hit more fluxes today than I ever planned on hitting this year, and on both sides.

I had more trouble with my final pm than anything. This tells me a lot. I gained a lot from experiencing this.

Kicked with JAke and Matt.

Matt hit smog.

I hit some of my longest, best strings ever.

Mentionable combos were

ducking butterfly,repeat, ducking pm, drop
flux-reverse whirl-drop
flux ducking butterfly
flux-dyno

that's all I remember. This one string I hit ducking butterfly, ducking paradox mirage and dynos, all bsos. It was a good feeling.

Jake hit some long, powerful strings. I still have a'ways to go before I catch up with you buddy.

Matt has now hit smog and smoke in a two day period. The guy is just a treat to watch develop.

Today was a big day for me.
I hit three tomahawks that I felt were clean, one of which (the first) was not witnessed. The third however was sealed by a ducking paradox mirage.
I also hit flux-ducking butterlyX2.
Bsos blur was good for me. I need to start developing this again.
Simple swirl, ss repeat a couple of times was very cool. I really enjoy this motion.

Mostly the higher level of tricks, lesser dependence on boppery, improvement of my ducking sets and secondary recovery during revisualization of these really makes my game that more rewarding.
I am at a point in my development where I am integrating more moves and links. This is nice. Perhaps what strikes me the most though, is being at a point where actually forget what I have hit in a string because it had a variety of tricks, links, and length.
