SpYdeR's Footblog

Post by SpYdeR »

This is the first time I have ever made a footblog, so here goes nothing...

I started playing "Hacky Sack" the beginning/middle of my sophomre year in high school. I played with some friends in a circle in the gym during lunch. I was absolutely terrible when i first started. I could barley get 1-2 kicks in a row. After playing for awhile during lunch I went and bought my own Hacky Sack it was a crotcheted(sp?) 8 ball Hacky Sack. I also bought a 12 panel suede footbag that I thought was awsome. I practiced for a long time, and quickly became the best in our school. After that I went online, and found out about Freestlye Footbag, and after watching a few videos of vasek...and others I was hooked. I then bought some Lavers, and modded them a few days after I bought them. That was about 3 years ago now. I have been playing uncommitedly for the last 3 years, I had a surge during my senior year, and made like 4 footbag videos. Then I bought a Playstation 3, and sat on my ass all day and night playing that. :? (but I got pretty dam good at Resistance Fall of Man) 8) ...anyway....

Just recently I graduated (yay) and got a job, and moved to my dads house. It was then I made a decision (probably the best of my life) to loose some weight. Right after I got my job I went to the doctor to get my ingrown toenail looked at, and I weighed 243lbs! on my 6' 1" frame. That was like 2 1/2 months ago, and I now weigh 203lbs! Now I am on this thing called the "abs diet" where I eat 6 times a day, and base most of my meals on protein. My goal however is to get down to 185lbs. I think i should get there in about 6 weeks or so if everything works out good. I think bc I have lost the weight I am playing alot better. After a long session my muscles arent sore like they used to be, and my recovery time is very short. Hopefully shredding 30min-1 hour a day will really help my get down to 185lbs.

Now onto Footbag.... I have most of the basics down pretty good, and I am working on doing the tricks in a string like...mirage>butterfly>legover..ect..ect... Some of the harder tricks I have hit are Dimwalk, Parkwalk, Ducking Butterfly, and Double ATW. Thanks to my new Quantums, Joshua Raye Footbag, and my new weight, I think I am progressing more now, than I ever did in the last few years.

The tricks I am trying to hit now are

- Smear
- Pixie ss mirage
- Ducking Legover
- DLO
- Pixie Legover
- Drifter(cant seem to hit this)

If anyone has some tricks they think I should try and hit, let me know, or if you have any tips on how to hit some of these tricks let me know. (thanks in advance)

The backside of my leg right above my knee feels stiff or something, from shredding so much today ( i had a day off from work) (yay) So im gonna ice it tonight, and maybe I will be good to go for tomarrow.

Grats on the new stuff. Remember clipper is crucial and butterflys fo sho.

Be super careful about injuries. Footbag is a dangerous sport. Not to the point like you are doing back flips but it is very hard on your body. Shins are probably the biggest problem. I got the problem now. So keep healthly. Remember a break heals strong a strain or a pull can heal weaker, stronger, the same or never heal. So be careful.

Also, who do you play with? Or where do you live?
Be careful what you wish for

I got myself a footblog http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.ph ... 016#342016

Yea I try to be carefull when I am shredding I stretch before, and after every session. Ive been playing on and off, for about 3 years, and I have never had any serious injuries, only a few sore muscles here, and there. Actually my right leg is sore right now so I couldnt play today, but I hope I can play tomarrow.

But I unfortunately dont play with anybody  And I live in Wisconsin near Madison.

(xbd sole stall) Most of this last week i had off of work so I shredded 3 times a day, around 30-45 min sessions. But now I am gonna be working 8 hr days, and I am on my feet for most of the 8 hrs so when I get home my feet are KILLING me.
