back giving out?

Post by Stoneman »

Ok this has happened maybee four times in the last couple of months. The first time i did it was playing footbag. I had just done a torque, and leaned over voilently to snatch the bag. there was a sharp pain in the small of my back. I cant decide if it feels more like my spine or the muscle directly to the right. I had this feeling like my back was going to collapse on me. I layed on a bench for 3 hours, didn't do anything phisical for 3 days, and felt fine. But three times after this, i have been sitting, doing nothing (possibly after a hard session) and my back has just tremored, and done the "giving out" feeling. It seems to happen randomly, and takes about 3 days to seemingly recover from. I say seemingly because it reoccurs. Its a really scary feeling, and i want to know what you guys think.

After chest pain, back pain is probably the most serious kind of pain you can experience.

100% see a doctor.

I wouldn't want to put my back on the line and neither should you. If you do seriously injure your back even simple tasks like walking or getting out of bed will be torture.

Sounds like some sort of slipped disc problem. I'm no doctor, but if you've had muscle strains of any sort, they feel the same even if it's in the back. You'll probably know if you've pulled a muscle, easily palpable, soreness in that area, tightness felt, etc. If it's something more serious, then you might notice other symptoms such as the "giving out" feeling, shooting pains, pain during forward bending or twisting.

Anyways, see that doctor and get a smart opinion. The worst thing you could do is do what you're doing now, still playing and not seeing the doc. I know it's a hassle and expensive, but it will pay off if you get a potentially serious problem taken care of early. Good luck and hopefully it's just a minuscule problem.

Sounds just like my back problem.

I recommend seeing a female Chiroprachter that is the cheapest in your area. It should be about $60 for the cheapest.

You probably need to strengthen opposing muscles and possible buy birkenstocks(arch support for the back) or a better bed.

You may have too strong of certain footbag muscles pulling your spine into other muscles or nerves. It may be possible to stretch out the footbag muscle pulling on your back and pop your spine into perfect alignment. If you do so and keep doing the stretch then you may be able to solve the problem forever with just one Chiropractic visit. Hope for that.

Sauna's are also very helpful with back stress.

Use Arnica on the area when it's hurt. Stop risky weight lifting angles until you understand the problem.

Best of Skill You can overcome it.

thank you for the responces.

Hood-thank you, you seem very knowledgable, and i will ask the bone/joint specialist i have an apointment with anyway (my knee started popping with the adition of blurriest to my game, and now pops all the time, sometimes painfully/very uncomfortably). I hope its not a slipped disk, that would be pretty serious

Lon-thanks for the responce, what you described to me does sound exactly like what i have (perhapse a curse of ending any run with torque in colorado  ). That kinda sucks :( . On the other hand, if you can become one of the best in the world with this problem, i guess i might be ok  I will see about strenghening the oposite muscles/stretching

Oh, and if i see a chiropracter, i will make sure its a HOT female one
