Doctors get paid so much because their schooling is so expensive. If a doctor got out of medical school and then became a doctor earning 20/hour (assuming you would want a doctor to earn the same as an EMT) They wouldn't be able to pay off their student loans and shiz.

The schooling:payment ratio is usually the same in most jobs.

But yeah. They're overpaid. :P
No. Doctors are payed lots because its a hardcore job. Schooling costs alot for the same reason.

If anything, schooling is expensive because the job pays alot.
I didn't state a reason as to why the schooling was so expensive so basically you just said no and then agreed with me. ;)

Art school is also very expensive, which is why artists charge a lot for their work. I'm just saying there is a correlation in the schooling:wages ratio.

No there is a distinct difference between A causing B and B causing A.

You said you think the doctors get payed alot because of expensive schooling, while I think the converse.

If all you wanted to say there was a correlation between the price of schooling and the wages, then you shouldn't have been ambiguous.

But you're not.

One of you is saying doctor bills, (Wages) B, are high because of reason C. And the cost of schooling, A is high because of reason B. A and C have nothing to do with each other directly.

However, the other is saying that B (wages) is high because of A (schooling costs), and that C has nothing to do with it.

Of course, C would be the actual intensity of the job itself.

But that fact of the matter is, none of it makes sense anyway, and neither artists or doctors should be paid what they do get paid.

Man, I'm not really trying to argue with anyone.

I'm saying doctors get paid a lot.

I don't care if their schooling is expensive because they get paid a lot or vice versa, it's pretty much the same thing.

I'm saying their getting paid a lot is justified.

But whatever. You guys can continue to argue with me if you want.

Absurd Vaccine Marketing -- Cervical Cancer Vaccinations for Boys

Mercola.com | September 29, 2007

School-age boys are now being advised to get vaccinated with Gardasil, Merck's cervical cancer vaccine, according to mainstream media reports. Previously, the vaccine was only recommended for girls.

The new male recommendation is based on the notion that boys could get throat cancer if they have oral sex with an HPV-infected girl.

According to some, however, recommending Gardasil to boys is little more than a scare campaign aimed at gaining market share from teenage boys.

Even the advice to give mandatory Gardasil vaccinations to young girls is simply disease mongering designed to sell vaccines. This is because girls who have HPV do not automatically get cervical cancer.

Girls who have healthy immune systems, and who lead healthy lifestyles, have little risk of developing cervical cancer from HPV. It is only girls who have compromised immune systems that may be vulnerable.

I think that's kind of dumb... When is this vaccine administered? 6th grade? Or around there? How many guys, really, are giving oral at that age? It was practically unheard of when I was in 6th grade, and even now, I know many many more guys that won't give oral, than guys that do give oral. And even fewer that like to give oral, and many many who have never given oral...

I don't think a school should be allowed to require guys to get a vaccine based on STI risks... You can't just assume everyone's sexually active. If they do that, then they might as well make it required for girls to be on birth control, and boys can't come to school without showing proof that they have a condom in their wallet...

I think the idea is to get in before the boys do, so to speak.

Touche.

Still doesn't make it right though. I don't believe it should be the school's job to "protect" us from things such as sexual risks and what not. Educate us on them, yes, because it's a school, and we go their to be educated. But it should not forced on us.

Yes, that would also be "protecting" us by educating us. I totally agree though. We should be educate and decide by ourself or even better educate the parents and they decide if still a minor. If the parents can't make the right decision who will?

The last reply from switch kicker made me think about anothing thing similar to being protected by people other than your parents.
Censoring.. few weeks ago when I was still visiting my parents in the states I just had to laugh at the silliness of the "protection" for minors.
They had this I guess spring break show where they were doing some kinda games similar to "I bet you will" by MTV and had 5 chicks in bikinis. The moment I saw it I just had to laugh histerically because the two chicks on the left of the screen were being censored big time around the chest area and the three chicks on the right weren't being censored at all. It was only because the 2 chicks to the left had big tits and the 3 on the right didn't .. how unfair is that!?  .. Id be mad if I were a girl that had a tit-job and was than censored on tv for them being to big and juicy 8O I'm really off topic today.. geez..

uhmm... it was probably because some of the girls consented to have their boobs shown on tv, while others wanted them blurred out. i didnt really get wtf you were talking about anyways though.

i barely believe that it was because the girls said don't show my tits on tv. very unlikely.

it was just an example for protection caused by others where none is needed. you don't have to censor big tits in bikinis on tv just because they are big. parents should pay more attention to what their children are watching on television if it is so disturbing to them since watching too much tv isn't really good for a person (especially children) anyways. Studies have shown that children that watch too much television experience shortened attention spans and develop ADD later on in life.

same goes for having to take vaccine. why should a child be forced to take a vaccine at school? the parents should be deciding this since its obvious that opinions on certain vaccines differentiate quite largely. this would also include (maybe) classes to educate parents on this subject in a correct and objective manor. once everyone is on the same level of understanding than you can make the right choices.

As far as vaccines go, I don't think parents should be making the decisions. There are just too many idiots in the world.
