FINALLY played some footy bag! it had been like a week and a half since i had seriously played and i realized i totally lost the urge to. so i decided to just go right out after work and have a relaxed solo session at a park i had never kicked in before. columbus park. i cant imagine why i have never bagged there before (to my recollection...which is occasionally flawed) considering it has tons of wide open space including a huge, spongy, red track around a nicely groomed soccer field, with plenty of extra, unmarked track-type area extending outside the lines behind each goal, with room for probably 40 footbaggers. the surface is delightful to play on, and almost singlehandedly led to my remembrance of why i keep a bag off the ground. which is because i love keeping it off the ground. i stretched and kicked in a relaxed manner, toes and clippers feeling solid and natural. the park is lit by huge stadium spotlights that keep the entire track area at a perfectly unobscured, yet natural tint. i played fairly well and hit

whirling far rev. whirl (not first time, i dont think)
gyro the fog (slurry)
alpine atomsmasher (that should have been hit like a year ago)
atomsmasher>smear>rpt (that too)
food bsos (ive hit it before, but still nice)
tapping torque>pdx blender (what now, son?)
mind bender (2nd time ever hitting it)
flip ps whirl (should have hit that about 4 months ago)
flip tomahawk, with plant, which is kind of lame.
edit-had another small session downstairs. inspinning osis son.

also: this saturday me, chris, dank, and whomever else can or wants to are having a session in dorchester, at the park mentioned in my opening monologue. its virtually 30 seconds from the JFK/UMASS red line train station. my and chris' friend frankie is bringing his camera, which has excellent film quality, and his skills as a film major who has done countless short and feature length movies. so we're going to film shit for the online comps, and probably just some regular shred as well, and of course we'll all be kicking anyway, not just filming for the competitions. which, i might add, are due in like 12 days, which is why we definitely have to do it this weekend. so it will probably be saturday around the usual time, like 1ish.

and hey fran, i no longer have your cell phone number cuz i lost my old one and got a new one, same number. so call me, even if just to say hi.

i just played AGAIN at columbus park. two days in a row. i figured out what im going to do for my sick three. its sick. i dont want to say what it is in case i dont hit it, but i did hit both links of it already, one of which includes whirling out of blender

i also hit a nice 34 contact guiltless string that probably had less than 8 bops.

felt good. except for when i kicked some spanish soccer player's ball back to him and for some unknown reason it twinged the muscle right on the front of my thigh and its been extremely sore since :x i have to start being careful....i refuse to be at all injured when its time to go to NY.

Dayum, Im really sorry I missed yestrdays session, sounds like it was really sick...... unlike the way in which Im sick, which is anti-sick.... what?

But yeah, Im FINALLY starting to feel a little better, my throat doesnt hurt half as much as yesterday and Ive just been takin it easy the past several days so I plan to shred within the week. Footbag is all Ive been thinkin about for the past couple weeks and its driving me crazy not being able to play. :x I just keep getting ideas for all these new drills I wanna try which will end up not happening because Pete will be right there hitting blurry whirl>ps whirl>pdx blender or something like that and keeping me off task. Aw well.

Anywho, I agree with Pete, I will NOT miss NYC, I refuse to be unhealthy or injured.

FOOTBAG! HUZZAH!

peace

Yo BSC,

I'm planning my Boston trip tentatively for January 16-20th (Wed - Sun). Best day for a session for me would be either Thurs 1/17 or Fri 1/18. Will school be back in session by then? I'll be in Arlington, so it will probably take me about 45 mins to an hour to get to the Northeastern campus on the T (red line to green line). Unless there is some other spot you guys plan on using for indoor shred. My email is ironcladben at footbag... I'll bring my video camera of course. Pumped!!!
