I always thought legeater was stepping far pick up. So gyro legeater would imply a surging set, and this was just like a GDLO, only with the last dex reversed.

Wow, nice! Avalanche is alpine blizzard right? That's a pretty uncommon trick. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever actually seen one. Nice job :)

I was told legeater was stepping far pick up too. When I was down in LA while Sam was filming Freestyle Reality, I kicked with Luis Monhollan and he was hitting a lot of very smooth downtime miraging pick-ups (linking them back to back to back, pdx, etc..). He and several other people were calling the trick "Curve." I don't know if it's an official name or not but I kinda like it, even if it might get confused with Dada Curve. Also, I didn't see him hit the gyro version but it does seem right up his alley and I wouldn't be surprised if he has. Props to Matt, that's such a unique trick 8)

Yeah props on the avalanche and alpine rev whirlygig, Ben :)

As far as I know, legeater is downtime miraging pickup.
It used to be used for quantum pickup too, but flux was atomic osis before people were doing downtime fluxes, if you recall, and who calls atomic osis flux nowadays? It makes so much more sense for the downtime, 'cause saying blurry pickup is easy, but it's harder to say blurry miraging pickup... when you could say blurry legeater. I dunno.

I hit a couple moves this past weekend that I was happy with:
-pixie ducking symposium reverse whirl (and then flipside first try)
-flip alpine reverse whirlygig

oh, and alpine little apple both sides recently, too.
Maybe other stuff too.

Kevin Regamey once argued that only downtime components should have names, and I think it's a good argument. If every downtime component had a name, you could describe most tricks by either saying that name, or saying "set name+downtime name." By this logic, a lot of trick names are superfluous (food processor vs. blurry blender), and I don't think we should abandon the more common/established names, but I think it's a good policy for future tricks that only downtime tricks get named.
