First off, sick highlights broseph. Cool to see you are getting into rev whirl dragonz now. And spinning rocks, I've been schooling that too lately, you've motivated me to get my ass in gear to hit spinning ducking clip on flip.

I would recommend "The Stick" from Endurance Zone.

It's basically a stick with these plastic rollers on that you can use to massage your muscles. I don't know how I would have gotten through worlds without it. PM morsecode and he should be able to get you a footbagger discount coupon for Endurance Zone.

BTW in regards to the dooming in the vid a few posts up, I thought it was clean, but it looks like you only hit outside stall out of it, it would be a little more clean to hit a legit dragon or firefly or something out of it.

Absolutely i can film some for the person who showed that rev whirls dont injure the knees as much as regular whirls. http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/11740
if you havent seen that there are some more stuff there and at 1:20 i do the drill: rev whirling dragon > pdx illusion > rpt

Thanks Ben, I'll look into that sounds like a nifty little thingy.

Thanks all for the comments!

Aww man, I didn't even notice those were reverse whirls, until I noticed the pdx illusions, after you mentioned the combo to look out for. Wowzers!
Full dragon bigwalk??? Holy! Ah. This stuff is so cool. I'm gonna go watch all of your videos now! I also really like the full dragon twirls (and paradon dragons (or...outside double switchovers?)!!)... cooool.
Umm... do the dragons not hurt your knees, though?

Dragons are not hurting my knees but it is taking a little toll on my back. Those first two moves in that video were motion dragon which i want to call demotion hah. There is a 2 move combo with dragon set blizz > paradon dragon near the beginning.

Hey thanks Brandon - you have hit a nice variety of dragon moves too.

Earlier today I searched the word dragon on modified and found many posts and topics where it has been mentioned. So i decided to refine my search and searched flipwalk and came up with only 4 pages of the word flipwalk ever being mentioned. I found out only 3 people have hit it; jon schneider, nick landes, and me, surely not only three? (Matt Cross?). Then i found a topic that contained the word flipwalk that made me pace around uncontrolably destroying the sanity from my head, i read this link... "Dragonstein to flipwalk" hit none other than by the famous Mr. Schneider. My head... hurties.

Good session today - here are the highlights:
-dragon set spinning pdx illusion bsos
-dragon set blur > dimwalk dragon bs
-firefly > spinning pdx illusion > pixie dragonosis > flipwalk bs
-rev whirl dragon > pdx illusion > rpt > run
-other forgotten things

I noticed that my 'strong' dragon stepping has become my flip! stupid me. Came close to dragon surging far symp rev whirling dragon and dragon set rev whirlygig dragon... such long names.

So i wake up today only to realize that it is 8:50 and my class is at 9 meaning my alarm didnt go off, so i threw on pants, fast walked to the parking garage (5 mins), drove to school (10 mins), walked to class (3 mins) not to mention homework was due today which i did thankfully. I got into class only to find out that the few hours i spent on the homework would not be accepted because i was late. Bummer. So here i am between classes.

Yesterdays session was not too great for me. I was still a little soar from last session and by the end of the 3 hours my legs just werent responding. I need to solidify fireflys again.

Although there are some highlights:
-pteradon > pdx illusion
-spinning firefly > far symp rev whirl dragon
-spinning dragonosis bsos five or six times
-flipwalks midstring on bs almost hitting it bsos a few times
-dragon set blur > atomsmasher > dragon slayer > drop (first half of full dragon rubberman - was a goal of mine earlier)
-spinning dragonosis > rev whirl dragon bs
-smear > smudge > plo > rpt > dlo > eggbeater > drop

Now looking back on the session - I guess not too bad. Need to get back into drilling on my own.

Earlier today i wrote a few goals for myself such as going guiltless and
"I would like to have the downtime concepts: dragon torque, dragster, dyno dragon and spinning/ducking easy enough to throw them in strings. "
Looking at this I believe i am almost at the guiltless level of dragons, it is right on the verge now and for that other list I hit each one but need to work on all but spinning which is crisp and tight.
Right now my focus is on atomic set and stepping set.

By December i want to have at least 4 of the following hit bsos easy: flipwalk, dragon torque, dragster, dyno dragon, ducking or dragon blender.

Saw a shirt a few weeks ago where it said: "Down Double Down" and below was the number 4. Made me laugh, everyone around me thought i was crazy though. Also saw the license plate "DRGNMOM" on a minivan and it made me chuckle my girlfriend in the passenger seat called me a dork when i said "is that my mommy?".

Todays session was pretty good mostly drill type stuff
Highlights:
-dragon > pdx illusion > rpt > dragon > pdx mirage > rpt > dragonosis > far dragonosis > rpt > run
-firefly > far legover > firefly > near legover > rpt > run
-dragon > far legover > dragon > near legover > rpt > dragon > pdx illusion > rpt > dragon > pdx mirage > rpt > run
-dragon > bubba > dragon > pdx illusion > rpt > run
-dragonosis > bubba > rpt > dragonosis > pdx illusion > dragonosis > dragonosis > pdx illusion
-firefly > same dragon > op firefly > same dragon > run

Longer runs finally

Today was a good session. Runs are longer than usual around 8ish guiltless and 15ish tiltless on average with dragons of course. Had to mention that Chase gave me his first professional looking bag for free and he almost hit dragon > op dragon, it just rolled off that last dragon! He is progressing fast, that sponge.

New level for me! I tried dragon blenders again, and found out that i can hit them easily. Too bad i found that out at the end of the session, but im going to drill them a little and clean up the form. So far the few times i was doing them they didnt hurt my knees which is exciting. Also i found out that flux dragon is pretty much there as opposed to torque dragon.

Highlights:
-some long runs
-spinning pdx blender dragon BS (felt good to hit that)
-blender dragon almost bsos, rolled off that last dragon
-blender dragon > stepping catch (surprised because i hit it first try, step was chest high, almost have it on other side)
-rev whirl dragon > twirl dragon bs

Yesterday was a blah day, not really anything new and im feeling less motivated to play.

Highlights over two sessions:
-pdx dragon blender bs
-dragon surging far rev whirl dragon

made a little clip from half an hour in the apartment which came out to 53 seconds, i may post it...
However i found out why my knee feels a little tender after doing dragon blenders on one side, its because i was dexing too high - i was doing it as an up down motion with my knee without thinking about it which takes its toll. Really i think the way to think about it is the hip joint doing the up down motion and the knee joint doing the side to side motion.

I was thinking about a 7 add dragon move (no xdexs) that is definitely possible to hit for me and if i hit it i will enter it into the online comp, just hope its not slurry. I have attempted another 7 add move with one xdex which i have footed many times.

To those 4 people that read my blog sometimes CHALLENGE ME!

I wonder if that would be the most adds a dragon move has ever been hit? Or if, like, Jon, Nick, or Jorden have done something? The spender dragon is crazy (I thought regular whirls hurt your knee?)
And... full dragon surging far rev whirl?? Coooool!
Jon Schneider must be dying to shred with you.

EDIT: I don't know how to give challenges for moves that I can't even understand :p Do you ever play without dragons?

Well i have hit another 6 add dragon move, surfing dragonosis but that one is just not that impressive. I read somewhere of wonton flux dragon being hit, which i guess is 7 adds with xdex (possibly Brandon Vasos' blog?)

I found out the problem with my whirling dexes after looking at the clip i made, and i just dex it too high without really using my hip too much, so its like Im dexing above my knee. Anyway one knee is really the problem, i can move it sideways out of the socket. I am trying to clean up the form which i think i have. I am still sticking with rev whirl but using blenders instead of dyno.

I can do some toe shuffles also just think of a combo and add dragon to the end of each move
My challenge thread: http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=

Nope, i dont play without dragons, i havent hit a clipper in a month or so. The only reason i tried was because i was fooling around... like people do when they try dragons, hah. The run was clipper > dragon > flapper > rpt op side.

I played with clippers for a couple of years before i converted one summer to dragons. I got bored of clippers and wanted to do something original and see if it really is possible to shred with dragons.

There are rumors of east coast champs being held in Orono, Maine next year...

What a weird session yesterday, for about 20 mins i was able to hit all kinds of flapper moves...

Highlights:
-flapper > far flapper
-dragon set op buttersole (butterfly ending on flapper)
-flapper > dragonosis > rpt > run (at least 4 separate times)
-flapper > pdx illusion > rpt > run (at least 3 separate times)
-flapperosis > far legover bsos
-flapper > spinning dragonosis bs
-buttersole bsos
-spinning dragonosis > dlo bs
-dragonosis > far refraction dragon bsos
-pixie refraction dragon bs
-spinning refraction dragon bs
-flipwalk bs to finish the session

-footed swirling flapper and blender flapper !!!
-footed double spinning dragon on bs
-footed dragon stepping far buttersole !

Interesting... now i want to hit flapwalk (bet you cant guess what that is).

pretty good session some stuff to report:

-dragon set blizz bsos
-dragon set blur bsos
-dimwalk dragon bsos
-footed flipwalk bsos 2 or 3 times
-rev whirling flapper at least twice (barefoot)
-flapper > op flapper > flaposis (barefoot)
-flaposis > flaposis > op flapper (barefoot)
-PLO > smudge > dragon > blizzard > spitfire > spinning dragonosis
-far refraction dragon > far spitfire (stylie link)
-triforce drill level 3 completed with dragons!
-dragon stepping far refraction bs
-spitfirefly midstring (surprised me)

Three things i need to work on: far spitfire and far firefly on my 'flip' and to clean up my 'flip' stepping. Its not really my flip I just have to put more thought into hitting these. The far firefly i am still trying to have the same placement as if i am hitting infinity.

video has some ok stuff

Yesterday was such a crap session for me, my dragons were not stalling correctly and my toe game was not fast enough... boo session.

Highlights:
-smudge > firefly > blizz bs
-dragon > blizz > rpt > dragon > blur > dragon > drop (drop on the stepping of the blur)
-blizz midstring a lot on bs
-dragon > stepping legover > dragon > schmoe bs
-dragon > far firefly > pdx illusion bsos (doesnt seem like a highlight, but it was a personal challenge, harder than it sounds)
-flapper bs twice in one string
-footed toe set dragster on bothsides
-flipwalk bs to end session

My Achilles tendon was bothering me at the attachment with the heel for a couple days and my patellar tendon (below the kneecap). I may have to take a few days off, which works because i am going down to portland for the weekend.

I am also going to take a hiatus from modified for a while. Every time i want to log on and check videos or posts i will drill for 30 mins.

I tried that 30 mins for every time i log onto modified and it only added to 1.5 hours but i kept playing for 2.5 hours of drilling and trying challenges.

Went something like this:
-100 alt op dragon (every dragon was sealed with a op dragon if not i redid them)
-50 alt fireflies
-25 ss fireflies each side
-Dragon > Dragonosis > RPT 12 contacts
-SS Firefly > Dragonosis > PDX Illusion > RPT
-Dragon > Gyro Dragon > Pickup > RPT (was really hard to not plant on the gyro)

work time for me

Yesterdays session was pretty good for me, was trying dragon torques near the end and found out that i can kind of do them. A couple problems is i tend to not flatten the dragon and it ends up looking like a heel stall and i need to accentuate the spin more by turning my head during the mirage and just blindly stall it.

The drilling is not happening.

Highlights:
-dragon torque bs many times
-spinning dragonosis > torque bs
-mobius dragon (my dragon was not 'clean')
-tripwalk dragon many times midstring (other side is there but not as reliable)
-fudge > pteradon > dragon torque
-dragon set blizz many times midstring and bsos

hopefully todays session i will hit something good.

So i might be getting a chainmail hack in a month (67 grams!), because that will be me and my girlfriends 4 year mark, crazy. She wants to get me something else, any thoughts? I think its also crazy that i have had my lavers for 3 years and they still look newish, no holes or anything.

Hit a sick 3 that i may enter into the comp and i think i know what ill do for my sick 1. Had a good session hit some stuff that is new.

Highlights:
-dragon stepping ss dragon bs
-spitfire > pdx illusion > rpt
-spitfire > spinning dragonosis bsos
-spinning pdx dragon blender > corner pocket (after the blender dragon the bag went into the corner pocket of the nearby pool table, haha)
-fairy pixie legover > fairy pixie legover (one of those i think was thed)
-fairy pixie illusion bs
-triforce drill level 4.5 with dragons (25 contacts! surprised me)
-10 contact guiltless strings with dragons many times

-footed tatw a few times without shoes
-footed sailing ss dlo with shoes (would be a first 4 dex for me)

some ok stuff i guess

I was just thinking of the people that are next to me in the comp lab glancing over and seeing what im writing "dragon this dragon that" and probably think im into some kind of fantasy thing.

a couple sessions summarized:

-dragon torque bsos a few times
-smudge > dlo > plo > rpt > firefly > stepping far legover > plo > rpt > dragonosis > far dragonosis > rpt
-forgotten things

Sent a sick 3 that is pretty crappy and old with bad quality into the comps.
