geez, this place is a wreck. see what happens when you leave a place for 7 months?

Well I should start blogging again. because, I want to start playing regularly again, and I think this might help. We'll see. I miss this place, ahh the memories.

Have been shredding on and off all year, fairly rusty, but I've started to work on basics again. Fixing my flip clipper form at the moment and it's a biiiitch, I hate it, hate it so much. Has to be done though.

Wednesday 4rd October

Drilled: BOPs, Clipper, Whirl, Symp mirage, Barrage, Stepping, Atomic.

Nothing spesh, just getting back into the rythm. Eventually managed rubberman... laaame. I did get one really nice Janiwalker though.My flip toe won't set properly and it's so freakin lame, I'm such a n00b. Looking forward to getting good.

Sunday October 7

Drilled: BOPs, Illusion, Whirl, Ducking, Stepping, Atomic, Barrage, Nuclear, DLO.

Kickaaaaass sesh. I'm pretty much back in form with pretty much everything. My flip stepping is better now than it was before

My flip clipper is finally coming along, it feels so good. I'm psyched. My toe sets are super lame though, especially on atomic sets, they go forward a lot

I worked on flip nuke set a fair bit. I was going for sumo not matador so I didn't actually hit anything but it was getting pretty good. Gonna pwn it so bad.

Whirls looking good bs. Barrage is good, setting slightly higher and now they feel real nice. DLO surprisingly consistent too.

highlights:
14ish contacts of stepping clipper > sidewalk > ripwalk rpt
2 contacts shy of rubberman x2, twice. Psyched with that.

forgot to mention last sesh I hit 25 ripwalks. wtf? random. pb for sure.

Monday 8th October
Length: 1 hour
Drilled: BOPs, Whirl, DLO, Barrage, Stepping, Atomic, Nuclear.

Shuffle looking real good tonight. Atomic sets starting to set straight up instead of forward. Realised I was starting DLO's waaaay too late which may be (well, is) the reason I find them so difficult. Saw instant improvement

Stepping was ooon. Got within 2 contacts of rubberman x2 again. stepping clipper > sidewalk > ripwalk rpt 25 contacts.

I started to work out the bits I still didn't like about flip whirl form

BOPs: 42. not too bad I guess. I didn't try for long and I'm a little unfit.

Oh and I've burnt 2 copies of a cd with awesome dance tracks I downloaded off beatport.com... Now I can DJ with good music

Plan: pwn Mirage, Illusion, Butterfly, DLO, Eggbeater, Barrage, Double Downs, Whirl, Drifter, Symp Mirage, Osis, Torque, Fairy, Stepping, Atomic, Nuke, Spinning, Ducking.

I want to have a really tech style on form and be really confident in stringing all that. That'd be sick. I want to be able to string 30+ contacts like that easy. If I work hard I could probably get most of it done by halfway through next year. We'll see. Last time I set goals they were all too easy, I have a feeling these might be too hard, but we'll see

Just gonna work through the list...

Tuesday 9th October
Length: 1 hour
Drilled: BOPs, Whirl, Barrage, DLO, Stepping, Atomic.

Man, I so have the drive back

I played netball tonight so I hadn't planned on shredding, but even after running around as center for 40mins I still wanted to shred

awesome. Shredding has been a bit of a chore most of the year so this feels great.

Whirl: was drilling toe whirl > blizzard rpt. Realised I was too rushed in the whirl > stepping and tried dexing earlier. Awesome! Works a charm. Somebody actually told me that once, maybe I should have listened. They feel better now, got 7 contacts of that drill.

DLO was looking good and my flip toe drifter was a lot more on form which was cool. Usually it's pretty awkward.

I'm sure there was more but that's all I can remember

barraging set is looking pretty good these days. need to learn flip....

This guy Mr Lloyd came into work at the bank today. He comes in fairly often and he's a really happy old guy, usually sings us a song as he leaves. He was commenting on what a good looking young girl Julie is today (she's 40 something and fugly

), and then he started saying how I was a good looking guy? Sorta disturbing but what the hey, he'd had a few beers.

After hanging around chatting for a little while he started to walk off, he turned around and told everyone in a big voice if they gave him a big smile he'd sing us a song. There were about 15 customers in the branch so we all laughed and smiled for him and he went on to sing "When you smile, the whole world smiles with you" for about 2 minutes or so, striding around the branch with his arms held out warmly. We gave him a big applause when he was done and he walked out saying cheerio. I turned to Julie and said: "Guess he's had a few more than usual today" Definately made my day though.

I won tickets the other day to see Custom Kings album launch at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne tomorrow night, pretty happy about that. Hoping to shred tomorrow arvo with someone, definately shredding sunday. Tomorrow night is gonna be sweet as.

Saturday 13th October
Length: 1 hour

Shred with Dan Boyle at southern cross station. played pretty well, worked on shuffle/whirlage etc to get myself ready for the sunday shred with everyone. Really happy with shuffle game etc.

Highlights:

Toe Whirl > Blizzard rpt - 18 contacts w00t!
Blurry Whirl x4
Some really good guiltless runs

Dan: Can you hit much double down stuff?
Me: Not really, no.
(hits Blurriest first try)
Me: That was a fluke...

After the sesh we grabbed a few pints at a pub nearby. My mate caught up with us and we went down to richmond to see Custom Kings. Turns out they weren't on for another 2 hours and the folk duo that were on, although obviously talented in their field, weren't doing it for us. Neither were expensive beers, so we found a bottle-o up the road, grabbed a bottle of wine each and found an alley behind some church to drink in

Dan would be proud. By the time we went back to the gig we were pretty drunk. But hey, $8 bottle of wine... We saw 2 songs, including their main song, which was good, but then we randomly decided to go back to our mates place and left. alcohol is a bad thing

We went back to Cassie's place and passed out as soon as we got there... it was a good night though.

Sunday 14th October
Length: 2 hours

Luckily, despite drinking shyteloads the night before, I wasn't hungover. Played f*cken awesome. It was a good turnout... dan, uranos, janis, leon, macca, JP, and another guy whose name I forgot the second he told me. I always do that

Yeah had an awesome day. Some real good shuffle/strings. Had one shuffle run which was pixie whirl > blurry whirl > about 6 contacts all shuffle. didn't get tombstone in there which was disappointing... I'm really excited about how my shuffle is going

I also footed the last contact in rubberman with illusions. I'm finding atomic drifter and atomic whirl really hard though which is frustrating.

hit 69 on camera. Came so close to alpine matador a heap of times... excited about hitting that! Screwed up the set on the last move of stepping whirl > blurry whirl rpt >< aagghhh!! that drill it haunts me... also got s & m smasher (atomic DLO) and some really awesome symp barraging sets. Decided I want to hit symp barraging matador. so doable. just gotta get that set a little higher. Hit a clean shooting butterfly and sailing butterfly.

New moves:

alpine blurry whirl - woot!

You were playing fantastic footbag, especially considering you haven't been playing all that much recently. Alpine matador was oh so close, props on the alpine blurry whirl

mega props on flip parkwalk, lol

I'm really hoping you put some more hours in, I know you can hit symp barraging nuke butter if you drill it.
