Analytical Therapists VS UQ
First game; A little frustrating, but a good first game. Final score 6 vs 12 down. It was like 1 vs 8 at half time, so we came back a long way.
I had 3 scores and two assists; so need to work a lot to get to 100, although I was trying to involve the new people as much as possible, so I definitely could have scored a lot more. Every time I had a crack at the line I created overlaps I think. The rest of the team just needs to run more, but that's cool - we did well for our first game.
My brother did the best step ever. He ran from half, and then stepped inside one of their guys and the guy broke his knee. That's a real step - when you snap your opponent. Actually my brother and I only scored on guys I think - we were playing in the middle anyway, and all our tries were in the middle (except my two assists, where I broke the line in the middle and then passed out). However about 90% of their tries were on the wings, with their fittest guys running passed our slowest girls. But that's fine, if that's how they want to play, we can play like that too.
Actually right at the start of the game they did this sneaky thing where you put your hand out to touch the person with the ball, and then jump away and they miss the touch and roll the ball and then you yell "No Touch Sir" and the ref gives you a penalty. Anyway they kind of fucked it up when they tried it, because they didn't yell it out until after we'd picked up the ball and passed it, so of course the ref called play on.
Now this trick is known as dirty and unsportsmanlike like, and in fact I was once reprimanded by a ref for doing it. Needless to say, after they fucked it up once, Kester and I got about 5 penalties for the game doing the same thing.
It felt really good playing though. Even if the level is way above the rest of our team, and way below Kester and I, I still feel so much better having played. I had a really shit day at work, and am going to start looking for a new job I think (I'm going to have to quit when I start Uni in a few months anyway, so I might as well do it now). There are bits I like, but there are serious issues between my boss and I. Yesterday I was paid for 4 hours to fill out a survey on emotional intelligence. The survey is 30 questions long and it says "give meaningful answers to each question" - Today when I told her about this, and said I'd written over 2500 words, she was like; "That's excessive." How can you give meaningful answers to any question in under 100 words?
Some of these questions are so ridiculous as well. "Are there any serious issues between your team members that you don't know about? How do you know?"
I challenge anybody to write a serious answer to that.

It worries me that if I quit over a falling out, I won't get a good reference, but given that I, and my team have been paid illegal wages for the last 6 months - which I've brought up 3 times with my boss, but haven't taken further because I know she's investigating it, and because we're an environmental charity, and I support our cause very strongly, if I do get a crap reference, I'll put in a claim for all that back pay, and let the people under me know they should as well. I'm not saying that as blackmail - I hate blackmail, and I would never make that threat to my boss, it's just how I'm going to react if I'm not happy with my reference. - Vindictive - very, but I can't help it Also it's just a tribute to Jay Rose

Yeah fully alive 
. Just got back from True Live - so so so good. They were a bit flat to start with, and they opened with Be The Cat - which apparently they've never opened with. Also all the people at the front where I was were hot girls, usually it's just guys at the front, but tonight was a very nice change, although I felt a little self conscious as literally the only guy for the first few songs. Rhino had some ridiculous green shoes on, which all the girls loved, probably a little too much; the other band members all laughed at the attention he got. A few girls even kissed them. At the second last song (Keep Myself Awake- that I used for my Christmas Calendar video) Rhino grabbed my head. Then later when I was talking to the band members he was like; "yeah it was crazy, I grabbed your head at the end," and I was like; "yeah, I was there." Tom is my favourite band member, he has so much energy and presence on stage, and also is super friendly. I had a great chat to him after the gig. Also later I smashed everybody at pool. So yeah, great night out, and probably the best timing for them to be playing in Hobart ever.
edit; Oh yeah, and this fucking hot girl spent the whole gig rubbing herself against me. Distracting, but I'm not complaining

Had a crazy night on Friday night, but played footbag yesterday. I threw up on the way down to the kick, so that's an indication of how hardcore I truely am .
Brian and James were there, and we played for a while. I even filmed, although it turned out the camera was paused for most of the filming. I still played ok. I hit a few cool stuff like blurriest>riptide (although I think I've hit that before, not that hard for me anyway). Also my flip eggbeaters were on, so that was good. Am I the only person who finds "bubba beater" the easiest eggbeater move? I think because that's my easiest dlo move. Oh, I also hit pixie your mom, which is a hardish move for me - but it was first attempt into a run, so that was nice.

I had 4 assists and a score - so that's ok, but also indicative of the fact that in attack I basically have to do all the work. We probably should have won. I passed an intercept, and one of our players put the ball down on the wrong scoring line. I did some nice dives, which was sweet, and easily stepped everybody on their team. If people could just run holes and stay alive, we would score every set of six.
In Touch football on a touch if you have the ball and get touched then you have to put the ball on the ground and then the person who picks it up isn't allowed to score, and if they get touched it's a turn over - so assists are basically when I pick up the ball, run over the scoring line, turn around and pass it to somebody.
It's annoying that exams are on, because that means we can't train, but soon that will change.
Public holiday today - booya. I stayed up until 4 am playing half life (I just bought Orange Box, and so I need to play through from the beginning). Woke up at 1 pm today - so good.
Have been playing a fair bit of footbag too, which is good. Just drilling though - flip pdx whirl, flip barfly and spinning. Until all that is completely consistent and equal on both sides (or close enough) that's all I'm doing.

ATs 6 defeated Amma 4
Our first win!! I am such a disgrace though. Well actually not really, I feel a little bad, and other members of my team feel worse, but some feel better
We were attacking the line, and you could see this guy going to shoot up on defence, and I was calling it to my brother, but he did anyway, and really got in my face, intimidating style, but of course I knew he was coming because I called it before I got the ball, so I gave the inside return, my brother ran in behind him, dumped - suddenly he's out of it, and it's an easy 1 on 2 and we scored. Then I turned around, pointed at him and said; "That's on your head mate." I bought him a beer afterwards though.
I was just angry, because all 4 of their scores were guys out running girls, which have been all the scores against us for the competition pretty much. Uncool in my book.
Actually there was one point where they did exactly that and I took the ball at the tap at the restart. Just ran straight at the guy who scored, stepped him, scored the try straight back. I just feel that mixed touch football shouldn't consist of each team trying to get a girl on a guy mismatch, and then scoring off it.
Our team is improving so much though, it's awesome to see. Kester and I are starting to step up a little too, and not just dance around like dickheads.

Looking through the scores of the last games, they were bottom of the ladder with 1 forfeit and 2 losses, but both losses were to the top teams in the competition and they were by very small margin. I assumed it was because they're good, but it's actually because they're just so slow and hold the game up all the time.
The final score was 5 all, but given a team of 6 good players, I imagine you could easily break the 30 try mark.
Instead, as often happens playing a team like that, we played very slow "spectator" touch. Kester and I did literally all the work.
There was a hilarious discussion that resulted in one of the opposition players calling me a cheater. I was tagged by an offside player. I took the penalty, tried to step somebody and was touched. The ref called "half caught" (which is basically the person who picks up the ball on a touch and a turn over to the other team). I was like; "It was a penalty for offside, how can there be a half." One of the opposition players was like; "There's no penalty for offside." I managed to bite my tongue from saying something like "Mate, I've been playing for 10 years, I've played state for Tasmania and Victoria and I've been selected to train for the NTL, which is the highest level of competition in Australia, I know the rules" and instead the rolled the ball and played on (and the ref was fine like this), but one of the girls on the opposition called me a cheater.
The game was a fiasco anyway. I can't imagine how you could have worse reffing. I did practice funky dance moves on the field though, and managed to score one try from doing a disco impersonation, so actually I had a fun time, but I'm not sure if anybody else did.
I did mention the reffing to the manager of the reffing, because in all seriousness, if we had have played the game without a ref, I'm sure it would have been better, and he was like; "sorry, but what you have is what you get, we don't have enough refs, oh are you reffing?" To which I had to respond; "No, you didn't put me down for a game this week."
Anyway we're going to train this week, so hopefully we can step it up a level and learn how to play properly for next game, which is actually against a top team.

So we won touch today; Analytical Therapists 9 vs Magic Touch 4. It was a good effort considering we only had 2 girls present, which meant we could only play with 5 players on the field (vs 6). I scored 5 touch downs and gave 2 assists.

Because the girls couldn't sub (usually you'd try to sub about every 2 to 5 minutes) and were essentially playing a full game of 5 on 6, we kept them out on the wing and didn't use them very much. One of the opposition players started mouthing off at us for not passing the ball to them enough. Obviously we made the right decision in that move (and one of the two girls suggested it) and when you've got 6 players vs 5 and you're losing, probably not that great to have a go at the opposition.
Anyway that managed to fire Kester and I up, and we scored the next 3 tries, all targeting that one guy. Kester and I both did a few full length dives to score. It's funny, some of the other players on the team were saying how they find it impossible to do a proper dive in a game, but I find it so instinctual, you see the line, you dive. I don't even think about it, I just find myself sailing through the air
