hey sam,
every one was really digging your video, my self included, so i didn't want to ruin the good vibe the thread had going on by posting my critiques in there. anyhoo, i thought you might like to know i tried to watch the video again, and i didn't make it more than 5 minutes into it. I was honestly getting frustrated with the constant zoom in zoom out that i couldn't handle watching it any more, and it was making me a bit dizzy. althought i was able to get a general sense of what was going on, i felt like i was missing out.
don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the video, and i think it's a really creative way to film that has alot of artistic merit, but i also felt that it went on for far too long. Were there some clips like this interspersed through out the video or for intro's and outro's i think it would have been more effective, and the video as a whole would have a greater re-watch value.
any way, that's my criticism, and i hope you'll find it usefull. thanks again for making the vid. it brought back alot of great memories!
cheers

sall good yo, maybe i just did more acid but i like trippen dizzy stars, ive actually rewatched it like 10 times lol and the zooming in and out is what makes it rewatchable for me... as far as the shred parts. honestly shred videos these days bore me. .. well not all of them.. i just saw zeb jacksons shredmenton video and it was AMAZING!

i think ill be making my vids more like this tho so good luck... im sorry to hear u dont agree with my style, buuuut u're not the only one.. its personal taste i guess. just expect it from me now, maybe that will help

dont be afraid to post the truth,, i dunt care..
thank you all for ure support. im encoding the dvd tonight :) should be ready by tomorrow

That video was definitely the most intense footbag experience of my life. Considering I was one of the two, maybe three, people hanging on modifed DURING worlds, it was great actually seeing what people were up to. That week was pure footbag loneliness for some of us. I've never seen modified so ridiculously empty. Not that I could have gone anyway. I'm actually a true member of injuredville. Penske wasn't injured psssh.

I really liked the interview with the drunk dude on the pink comforter. No wonder he got his own banner. It seemed very...special for some reason. A nice mix of uninhibited disclosure, goofiness, and a very human side to the sport. Who is the guy?

I'm surprised you guys had to resort to a APPLE to smoke out of. Comon...it takes like 5 minutes to make a decent bong. Maybe then you wont burn yourself. Digges looked fucking baked though...was there really acid going around?

I didn't find the DC tribute sad at all, despite the lyrics. I took it to mean hes just plowing the way on his own. In a way, we all are. DC, like many of us got good by primarily playing alone.

I liked the shot with the four separate quadrants displaying different footage. That must have taken forever to make.

I thought there was too much legs footage. Sometimes I couldn't even tell who was playing. We all know what they're hitting most of the time, we don't need close-ups.

The ending was a bit of a tear jerker and I didn't even go!

I thought that was 10 times better than BOTS. You could have sold it. A classic for sure.

I know right? Bic pen, 1 liter bottle, reversed metal pen point-cap was aways my personal fave. 5 minutes, tops. I was totally MacGyver in a former life though lol.

That's how you make a ghetto crack bong. Everyone knows how to make them but they're nasty cause of all the plastic and metal. Trust me I didn't RESORT to an apple. I'd much rather smoke an apple than plastic. And there was plenty of pieces to use at worlds. Jon and Tom's vapes were nice. I just used an apple all week cause it's stealth in disney world.

But if you drink crackbong water u get really stoned!!!!11 Normally cannabinoids arn't water soluble but upon heat from the lighter the thc is converted to various cbn substances, which are! I bet erowid doesn't even know that!

Sam, I LOVE it. I would like to purchase a DVD because I cannot keep this huge wonderful file on my computer. I really like how you focused on dave. The DC story from worlds was incredible, frickin tearjerker all the way... seeing his dad and mom on the edge of their seats over their son was beautiful. Dave is a footbag hero. That music you picked was perfect. Really, this was great. thank you for making it. Once again, put me down for a DVD. Tell you what, I'll trade you your shorts and an MC bag for a DVD (or I'll just pay you, your call).

I wish you hadn't included those sexualized shots of Caro in the video, but, oh well. She knows she's good looking, she knows guys check her out, and she knows that there's less tight shorts out there, so I guess it's to be expected. I just think that to include things like that doesn't really show respect for a fellow athlete, but on the other hand, I don't think it's that different in other sports in which women take part. I know that hot women soccer players and tennis players are sexualized, entirely. So, as you see, I'm not really bothered by your choice, just noticed it. And you welcomed honesty, so I hope you're not bugged by this post.

once again, I loved this film, it made me miss worlds and you and all my friends so much. It brought me right back. It was hilarious, it was happy, it was sad, it was a little controversial. Really a top rate film for people who were at worlds. I can't wait to see the other 2 parts. will they be available on the DVD as well? now THAT would be the shit. Seriously, I'll pay more to have worship, respect, and experience all on one disc.

late for class. talk later.

Not bugged at all. There was only 1 shot like that tho. The way I filmed the girls shredding was the same way I filmed the guys. I ALMOST didn't include the one shot in the steven barnes section. ... but then I was like fuck it. life is short and my intentions are not bad.

I'm glad you liked it. I'm gonna buy more dvd's today cuz I ran out. yay!

Saw the whole thing, and big ups to you for doing something like this. I loved most of the parts, though found the non-shred stuff got a bit long at times (I wasn't at worlds)

BUT

I do have one critique... all of the pot references. See, I would love to show this video to some people to show them what worlds is like, but right away, even before the intro, the smoking jokes start.

This makes people totally not take it seriously, and I honestly don't think it should be shown on video. And I'm an occasional smoker, sooo yeah.

The rest was great, liked the DC section A LOT A LOT, thought it was brilliant.

Keep up the good work Sam! Haha and I'm glad the torrent thing worked out.

Yeah, I think this movie is more of a 'made for footbaggers' type of movie. I personally wouldn't show this to a lot of my non-footbag friends because they'd just find it boring. The reason why I like this movie, is because I know most of the people in it, and it's funny to see them in crazy situations and stuff, and there's a lot of insider humor and experiences that entertained me.

For instance the dave bap induction. A non-footbagger wouldn't at all feel emotion from that scene, and probably would think it just dragged on. But we all felt the same emotion because of our experience with footbag.

On the other hand, I think I could show them Freestyle Reality. It was a fictional movie with footbag in it, and probably much more entertaining to a casual viewer.
