I can't give tips, but I'm looking for them. Any tips for anything symposium double over down related, namely the elusive superfly.

Superfly was the first symp double down move I hit - and still the one I hit most often so I'll give tips specifically for that. If you're trying other stuff it's pretty similar anyway.
Moves that you should school first: Barfly, Flail, Pdx Flail, PS Whirl.
You won't need to be able to hit all those moves really well - but the better you can hit them the easier superfly will be.
For superfly I like to set not too high. I can hit ducking superfly so I guess the height isn't too important - but I tend to find it easiest with a set at about belly button height - maybe even slightly lower.
Change feet really quickly - the bag should still be on the way up when you are in position for the move. When you change feet - you hop from one foot to the other - so you never have both feet on the ground! The set should go straight up and you should plant the setting foot close to where you set from - so as you change feet you are moving your body towards the setting side - this means the bag is close to or on the side that you want it on for the dexes.
You have a small period to line up the bag and to readjust yourself if the set isn't perfect before the hop for the dexes. You should be on the toes of the dexing foot - don't plant all the way to the heel.
Hop for the bag - but don't actually jump very high. If you watch somebody hitting superfly - their head stays pretty close to the same height but the legs go along way off the ground. Lift your knee of the dexing leg up high (like a tuck jump).
I tend to think of it as just a barfly in the air. You want the first dex to be as high as possible - preferably around the top of the calf - but you can get away with lower. As you do the second dex push that foot down. Try to land fairly lightly and time it so that as your stalling foot touches the bag just as you land on the ground. Keep your weight slightly forward since it is easy to lose balance and move backwards.
Hope this helps, best of luck!

Jeremy gives good advice!
I can't stress the imprtance of being able to hit pdx flail though. Pdx flail and superfly are very very similar.
The footwork is roughly the same as for ps whirl (I'm talking specificly about superfly here) but with less of a hip pivot.
I think the set should be fairy high (chest high), and it's very important when jumping and doing the first dex to be OVER the bag.

I'd really love some tips for this. Does it help to drill downtime flails for this trick?
thanks in advance

i've been told that mine look like flails bailed to clipper - but I don't really think of them that way. Just keep trying however you think of it and eventually it will make sense.

Learn clippers and butterflies very well both sides.
Given your tempermental knees and ankles Janis, i would suggest not really trying this trick at all. There are easier ways to hit big tricks.

I think using flail as the idea for this trick will put your body in the wrong place. Flail is a front to back dex, you are look at a circular motion for this one.
First off, I've seen footage of you and I'm not sure if you are ready for this trick, but I don't even know when that was, so maybe you are now. My tips.
First off you want to have really good posture, with your back straight and your knees slightly bent (you are toe stalling). This move is like pushing your hand into a pillow. Everything starts out rigid and stuctured and then indents, until the pillow is finally pressed in with the ability to spring out at the end. Hard to imagine? Follow.
First. Solid toe stall with good form. Set the bag waist high with both legs compressed. Set to the middle of your body, right where your tally wacker is.
Second. Uncompress your legs and begin rising upwards. You are jumping off your support leg obviously. Wait a few seconds, this is done all downtime basically. Use your rising momentum to shift your hips towards the bag. You want to spring up with everything and right as your spring peaks start the first out in dex. Attack the bag quickly in front with your ankle pointed down and ready for the kill.
Third. So your like 1.5 feet up with the first dex almost completed. This is where I take my chest and turn it inward towards the set. This brings everything closer together, and puts the bag in a nice spot right under my calf. Remember, perfect play is you moving, not the bag. So you want to move around the bag and get it right above your clipper.
Fourth. Finish up the dexes. Throw your leg through one more time, quick and sharp. If you hit the bag, good. That mean's its not the, and it means your not wasting valuable time. Easier to loosen a dex than tighten it I think. Anyway, finish up your dexes. At the same time your clipper foot should be doing a nice little under slip so its ready to catch.
Fifth. Put your dexing leg down nice and solidly, toe pointing 45 degrees if that makes sence (basically good form). Your knee should compress at the same time as you are hitting the clipper. Compress everything quickly if you are stepping out it. If not take your time, get a nice set out, osis.
Sixth. Smile because you've hit one of my favorite tricks.
Random advice: I found blackula a lot easier than this trick. Same advice, but straight up set this time, quick footing switch. It depends on the person. School downtime paradon and symp butterfly for this.
peace.

I don't really think the impact from symp double downs is that bad. I think the key is to lift your leg up, but not jump too high, and land on your toes, cushioning with your toes, ankles and knees. If you get the dexes done nice and high, and make sure you land correctly, it's no harder impact than for any other move.
