Joooooohhhhnnnnnnnn Baaaaaagggggggiiiiiiiiii FFTTTWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

Managed to get in two sessions, the first a 3-man with Seb, the second just John and I at the Tam-tam.
First session was hawt. John hit his first PS whirl even though he wasn't supposed to :p
The next day was practically like summer, it was 24 and all the chickyboos were out in their shortest shorts.
We were both a bit off for one reason or another but it still felt good to play. I went shirtless in October!
I hit blurry whirl>blurry drifter...not the first time but really controlled and sexified.
It was great shredding with John, he's got one of the cleanest best looking styles I've ever seen. And i'm not just sayin' that. He's got almost every concept locked down and only been playing for 7 months??! KFM represent!
I want to come down there and shred with you guys!

So yeah, footbag is doing good in Montreal, everyone is playing. I'm trying to get my game consitant enough to be useful. I'm going to start filming my sessions, maybe mess around with Movie maker.
I'm going to train hard all winter...train for what exactly?? I have no tournament ambitions, no delusions of grandeur. I guess I'm training for myself. I don't need to be good, I just have to be satisfied with what I'm capable of. And i'm not yet!!

So here we go.

That session with Mathieu was fucking great for me, I hit a bunch of links and moves and strings and all sorts of craziness, very happy with my game.

Combos hit: Lots of shit. Haha I'm not listing anything because I can't remember much.

Too bad the fucker is sick though. GET WELL SOON MATHIEU!

We'll be filming on Wednesday, AKA tomorrow, and hopefully something nice turns out with it, though we'll be in a shitty slippery indoor spot. Oh well.

I got the job, but it's not footbag related... they just wanted people who have performance experience.

I do infomercials now :) FUCK YEAH!!!! And get paid too much, it's amazing, I'm happy.

I'd like to officialy proclaim myself in Worlds-Preparation-Mode, and I've even started a routine!! I want to be READY to kick ass and chew bubblegum at Praha 2008 baby, even though I'm all out of gum.

Hmmm not much to add, and I don't feel like writing much for some reason... hmmmmm...

Anyway, stay tuned for the video. It's actually going to be pretty interesting and I'm working with a big name in footbag to do something pretty cool with our videos.

Peace, until tomorrow!

So wednesday I show up at our regular shitty winter location for some footbag and such, and who do I see....

and smell....

the only and only...

YACINE THE FIEND MERZOUK!!!!! WTF!!!!

He's baaack! Well, on vacation at least. As you might or might not be aware he's been in Hawaii for a while, and is back in Montreal for about a month. Hopefully we'll get some sessions in soon enough.

There were 5 of us: Me, Gauthier, Mathieu Soucy, Sebastien and Yax. All of us we're playing decently.

Soucy was playing well, though he seemed to have only improved minutely since the last time I saw him. Good foundation, lots of BSOS 3-4 add moves.

Gauthier played alright, but I've seen him play better. Granted, he's coming off some sickness like aids or something, and I did see him hit a bunch of nice stuff. His pixie-ducks are nice and solid, and he's starting to get some good 10-15 contact strings going on now. And his drifters are nice.

Sebast was fucking murdering the footbag like it raped his sister or something... I don't remember him busting this hard for a while. SUPER strong links and long strings, and it was great to see a lot of whirling and torque-type moves from him, which aren't really his forte. At least they weren't before. I was very impressed with the way he played that night.

Yax played OK, but it shows he hasn't played in a while. Still, his energy and enthusiasm are always welcome in the circle. Let's not forget his unforgettable passes. Because that would be bad. It felt full circle to kick with him again, as it's been a while and he was my original Mentor and Idol, so everything I've accomplished is because of him. Big props.

We we're supposed to do a video based off of links and combos, but in the ended we just shreded a lot, since we were not expecting so many people and to see Yax.

Links I hit that night that I found hot:
Whirlwind > Stepping something followed by shuffle
PS Whirl > Symp. Whirling legover
Spinning Pdx. Egg > DOD Swirl
Double Blender > Whirling Swirl > Ripwalk > Whirling Swirl (flip is tough)
Bullwhip > Whirr > Whirlwalk

I hit a bunch of other shit but I can't remember. But a REALLY solid day, all around.

I'm not sure when my next session is, it all depends on my new job's work schedule which is yet to be determined. Hopefully this weekend I'll sneak a session in even though everyone will be gone.

My specific goal is to go to Chicago for New Years Jam and school Sebast in every circle, since he doesn't believe I'll go and laughed in my face. Since I found that insulting, I'll do my best to make it, and I'll probably fail in my attempt to school him in circles (Who the fuck can school Seb.?!), but I'll try. At the very worst I'll at least have pushed myself farther in shred.

THATS IT THATS ALL FOLKS.

Peace.

Maaaaaan I'd have LOVED to have gone, but my finances are tighter then a turtle's asshole right now (it would drown otherwise). Also, I was working that weekend! Since it's my training I couldn't skip it :(

Asmus, glad you like the blog's style, it's how we do it up north, yo. Yeah. Yo. I'll be at worlds for sure, so we'll kick and quaff a beer together, if you drink.

My new job rocks, and they think I'm some sort of star or something with all the attention I'm getting, but it keeps me from playing footbag for now. Grrr. Also, I'll be in Quebec City for 2 weeks... probably! For work, of course, but I'd love to kick some some Quebec City shredders. If any of you are reading this from there, PM me ASAP, I need crash space, and I don't mind paying in money and tricks, so yeah. I'd be leaving on Nov. 6th.

I don't have much to add because I wasn't kicking much this weekend, but I thought of a bunch of combos and shit, so hopefully with my mindset focused on practicing and improving a bunch more new stuff will be added to my game.

I'm going to buy a CAMCORDER and make my own videos soon!!! Excited!

That's about it, nothing else to add. Shitty post but whatever, they'll get better soon.

Life is going uphills like crazy... it's tough right now because I'm so poor, but once I start getting paid from this gig it's going to be unreal. Just to let you suckers know, my 2 weeks in Quebec City will gross me 6 GRAND MOFOS. Bam.

PEACE OUT!!!

Can't wait to see you guys at the respective tournaments.

BUT.

ARRRGGHHHHH, INJURED!!!

I can't believe it, somehow my left leg is all fucked and both my legs have these giant shin splints that are killing me. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm working standing up now, and playing footbag quite a bit at the same time, but maaaaan.

I wanna play :(

Hopefully this is going to clear up, and I'm going to do some stretches and shit until my left leg starts behaving like it's supposed to.

BTW, I've noticed that ONCE AGAIN this has turned into a "Laroche Blog" instead of a Montreal blog. This is for you MTL players out there: WRITE IN HERE. I don't care if you've been playing or not, just gimme updates on life and stuff. Who cares if people think there isn't a lot of footbag related posts in this blog? Fuck em. If they don't like it they can fuck off and school their flip THEs.

Ianek, I want to do a DNB project with you. For those of you who don't know, Ianek is a KILLER drum player with an electronic drum kit, and we've talked before about doing a live DnB set with me tickling ivory and him pounding the skins. I know Skippy has done something similar, and I'm not sure why I'm mentioning him, but the sentence will continue on anyways.

Oh yeah, I can hit Swirlwind againl For the doubters out there: Repent, sinners.

Peace.

I got your message but I'm busy and working Mathieu, and on top of that my legs hurt so much I can barely stand.

BTW, tips for Shin Splints: Calcium, lots of it, and Vitamin D, lots of it. This will strengthen your bones and reduce pain a lot. Also, do those stretches that I can't explain in words without showing them. Yeah, those ones, you know what I'm talking about.

Quebec city in 4 days... should be coooool. with a fucking D at the end of that. No, not rims...

Bad jokes aside, I hope to find a shred spot there so I can pull a Clavens and become a super-hero after coming back from my injury.

DC SLEEPS ALONE AT NIGHT. Big respect to the guy who tripled my skill in half the amount of time I've been playing.

Peace out again.

Calm yourself Iago

I've been off the roster for a while now due to a stupid ass injury. A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I stubbed my toe really bad. It hurt for a while then went away which was nice. Then, a few nights ago, I do the exact same thing on a fucking LAUNDRY basket. Suffice to say it was quite painful. It still hurts to do toe kicks and I can't really put too much weight on it so thus my absence.

Just quit my newly found job which was the biggest piece of shit evar. Back to the drawing boards.

There are only four things keeping me going right now: my gf, smash bros brawl, the new TMV album and beer, lots of it.

What, I'm not on your top 4 list?! I hate you James.

For the record, the hostel I'm staying at has room to shred, SOOO I'll try and domy best to play every day while there so I can come back in good shape and be ready for CHICAGO.

I also hate the montreal doubters again. I WILL school all of you, this is a promise. Where there's a Will, there's a Digges and a way.

My roomate has footed triple atw inide-inside.... WTF. NEVER will I hit that move. That is RIDICULOUS.

I'm also very inspired by the recent videos of people who don't give a fuck about the rules in freestyle and are doing their own thing. That guy with the whirling rakes has a killer style.

Peace out.

I'm not pissed, well yeah I am. When I've said I WANTED to go somewhere, and cancelled well in advance, it's because I had no cash. Every time, that was the reason.

Now, however, I have cash. So I can go. It's simple economics.

For the record, Quebec City rocks. I'm smack dab in the old city and it's nuts, castles and walls everywhere, with the occasional tower.

I CANT FIND A FOOTBAG SPOT THOUGH! SO fuck it, I hate the city.

More news soon.
