wanted for purchase: active green ultrasuede light
you know how it is.
not wanting to pay ridiculous prices, only looking for a quarter yard or eighth yard. i guess any quantity would suffice, but holly and i really enjoy this color.
id trade even for any other color that you want.
willing to pay 10-20$.
id really appreciate someone picking this up in their local shop for us, since its not online anywhere.
CMil?
Jrose?
or if you stockpiled it for this reason, and are willing to strike a deal, press that pm button for me.
thanks in advance

That is what Waylon Lew said in the Bags any stitcher has made thread, regarding the use of ultrasuede soft. What i did waws, since i havd some active green ultrasuede soft lying around i washed i, ironed a few times and threw it in the washing machine. Then i made a bag with it. Of course it was stiff, but after a day of hand massaging it felt just like any other ultrasuede light bag i've made.Wasabi wrote:I don't think it really matters that much. If you want my opinion, weak facile really hinders a bag's longevity.
Here are some good tips:
1. If you insist on using weak facile, a good backing is necessary so that it won't bust holes. Finding a good backing, so that it doesn't make the facile stiff, is extremely hard, but when you find one that is flexible and functional, it will work to your benefit.
2. Using ultrasuede soft has its merits. Here's what you do: Carefully wash your ultrasuede soft (nonchlorine bleach, soft soap, etc. - whatever is necessary in a way), rinse and dry it well, and then iron it on its bad side so that you can make the fabric thinner. Repeat if necessary.
So if you're still not able to get Active green light, you should try some ultrasuede soft. All it needs is a break in.
Here's my opinion about Active Green: it's a seasonal color, people! SEASONAL! COLOR!
Look at the Toray webpage. See how it's listed as a special color under the Spring season? Maybe if we waited until Spring, Active Green will just pop up again. The color is just way too popular to be discontinued forever (its the truest green of any green facile we've seen), and I'm sure the qualities as a functional ultrasuede light is not over looked in terms of fashion and apparel.
So, come on, let's just wait it out. Or use Petit Pois. Ultrasuede Soft Active Green (I think that's sold out as well, since some green fanatic bought a ton of green fabric a few months from what I remembered*)? I'm sure it will turn up again.
*It is in my belief that this fanatic is not a footbagger, although I've seen many a footbagger dressed in green and sporting green shred shoes. I think.

What of Silver Pearl, Sunshine, White? Those colors have been reoccurring. I know Active Green isn't being shown on the Spring 2008 line, but... give me a break. Everyone's been demanding Active Green. I'm sure outside of footbag, people who make furniture, clothing and apparel are in higher demand for this color and its color quality, by a far larger quantity than 1/8 of a yard. It's a hot item. It will show up again.
Here, this is what I could find from doing a simple search on Yahoo. Yahoo makes everybody's lives better:
http://www.king-cart.com/cgi-bin/cart.c ... atch=exact
It's 4.5" x 4.5" for $2.00, each. It's pretty expensive, so if you want to buy it, you better trace your panels. Like, seriously, 4.5" x 4.5" is REALLY SMALL. For $2.00 per increment. If you ask me, I don't think it's worth it just to have a color like this.
They also have Marmalade, if you guys are interested.

I have been searching for this colour for quite some time myself. I will pay more than market value. I only have about 30cm of an 1/8 of ayard left.
Please PM me if you have some adn woudl ike to sell some. I guess I could wait to see if it comes out again, but I have the money, I want the colour. And I guess if it boils down to it, I could order those expensive little swatches.
