JAMES! Not Eric. I need to stop calling people by their screen names. Sorry about that. But yeah, i can get a pretty good amount of side to side clippers. Though i usually don't do more then 3 in a row. but i love doing the drill clipper>clipper>ss osis>clipper>clipper>ss osis>Rpt. I can get a good amount of contacts in that drill. I'll give more updates later. Shred on.

Yesterday i had a good session. I got back in tune with footbag. I looked back at why a played, why i worked so hard and why a berrated myself about every little thing i couldn't do. I remembered why i played, and then after that and getting into a relaxed state i found love for footbag again. I'm just gonna take it slow, and let my skill advance as god deems it. So no more worries. Hope everyons having an awesomefootbaglife :D
Shred on.

Yeah man footbag's a crazy game. It's just so hard and it can really take its toll on you mentally and physically. Glad to hear you bounced back quickly. Don't force sessions if you can help it! It's hard but it's too fun in itself to get too down on it.

and yes. I am having an awesomefootbaglife. Probably going to play after dinner! Peace

Oh lol, i didn't mean to make that one whole word. I thought i put spaces :P. Oh well. On to the updates, there are none. Didn't have a session today. My shins have been hurting for a bit now, and i think it's because my form is a little off, and i'm not cushioning myself proficiently. But physical pain really doesn't phase me when I'm in the middle of a run. So no worries, I'm only human :). Good day everyone, and remember, shred until your feet disappear, and when they do, just stump shred for a bit. You'll adapt.

Woohoo! I had my first seriously productive session in the longest time tonight. I moved some stuff in my house, and now i can get a relatively nice shred spot for indoor play, it's wooden floor with a carpet over it, it's really nice, The couches keep the carpet relatively still, though when i was shuffling my feet for side to side clippers it shifted a bit, but nothing game killing. But back to the updates! Today i hit two new tricks. The first i hit was clipper set swirl, which felt awesome. The other was Magellan. I came super close to DLO to, but no cigar. Another thing that happened was a discovered that i had been doing my pixies all wrong. I used to do them leading with the foreleg and foot into the ground. But then i read somewhere on this forum that the outside of the knee should lead, so i focused on that, and what do ya know? My pixies are actually decent now. I need to seriously work my flipside though. I need to get it caught up to my strong side. Though only in a couple areas. Clippers are pretty much equal on both sides now. Same with Mirages, Pickups, Legovers, Osii, and basic stuff. Form could use some work to, though it's better then it use to be. All in all I'm feeling really good. I haven't felt this invigorated for footbag since i hit whirl. Oh yeah, thats another thing. My Whirls aren't that great either. They need work, along with my butterflies. But thats enough, i need sleep, and wonderful footbag dreams. Good night everybody. Shred on.

Well, i think i understand how people can fall out of this sport when there's nobody around to play with. I haven't heard from Cale in a while, last time i talked to him he got grounded for something. I really really want to play with someone really bad. I'm losing my motivation, even if i do hit a new trick. i think i watch videos to much. I'm watching all these footbag videos with these insane shredders, and i feel bad for not being that good. But i need to tell myself that i haven't even been playing for a whole year yet. I know i shouldn't rush my game, but i feel I'm going to slow, and i don't see any progression in my game. There's just no motivation right now. Just feel like quiting. But i have to remember what life was like before footbag. How i was fat, always sat around playing video games, never really went outside. I rarely play video games now, and i love going outside for sessions. I love working up a sweat, and i love seeing my legs and my overall body become more fit from the physical excursion. I have to constantly remind myself of these things to keep myself upbeat about footbag. I love the sport, but i feel I'm stuck in a rut, and it's incredibly hard to climb out of. I guess I'm one of those players that needs playing fellows to progress significantly. Thats another reason why i want to go to SJFF. I have a feeling it would re-invigorate my footbag interest. We'll see, i just hope i last until then. On a lighter note, i got a new piano gig at a coffee shop just like 10 minutes from my house. My dad's gonna drive me there every Saturday, and i'm gonna play there for 2 hours for tips (and hopefully a salary, my last gig gave me 10 bucks an hour) I hope that i get at least thirty smack's before SJFF weekend. I so badly want to go to this tournament, it's not even remotely funny. But whatever happens happens. I just hope that i can keep going in the face of adversity. Like what is said in the bible "Blessed is the man who perceivers under trial. For when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12. Shred on.

It's official, I'm going to SJFF, and Cale's coming with me. We're gonna be there on Saturday, so we're gonna be in hopefully the height of the event. It's gonna be sooo cool, i hope i can get some new bags. My Mini Footfighter is practically dead, and i just played with Cale, and he got some Ammeretta Fearless 55's from Abshire, and they're amazing. I hit some new stuff that first day i played with em, Cale hit new stuff that session as well. Here's the stuff i hit.

Flipside Parkwalk
Fairy set ss Clipper
Fairy set opp Clipper
Atomic set opp Clipper (Personal favorite)
Pixie set ss Mirage
Flipside Pixie set ss Mirage

It was just an awesome session. Me and Cale worked out atomic sets like mad. It's funny, cause for Cale his flipside does the atomic set so much better then his strong. He also does it leggy style, where i do it hippy, so we got a balancing thing going on. He came soooo close to hitting that atomic set opp clipper, it was electrifying. But he was doing really good that session. As for me, my mirages are becoming a little to consistent. I bail to mirage now instead of osis cause i can do them so freakin easily. My clippers are getting really good now to, both sides. I'm actually getting uptime fairy sets, which is exciting. And i discovered that my flipside pixie set is way more hippy then leggy, whereas my strong side pixie set is super leggy. Same thing with Cale. All in all it was an awesome session, and our next one i am pretty sure will include a new addition to our little Rouge Valley footbag group. His name is Chris May, and we're gonna shred this weekend. I'll see if i can't get him to start an account on Modified. I for one think this board is a great way to keep in touch with other players, and it offers encouragement to keep playing in those downward moments that everyone has in their footbag careers. Shred on everyone, shred on

Alright, had a killer session yesterday. This was my first ever session with Chris, and i discovered that he's freaking good. He said he hadn't been playing for like 2 years, but he was busting big stuff during the session. He also got some nuclear set stuff, which he says is hard for him, so that was awesome. It was funny watching how Chris would do something, then pass the bag to Cale, then Cale would attempt that same thing, coming incredibly close to landing it. After Chris left Cale and I hung out for a while, then we played a little more in the house. Here i got a trick i have been working on for a long while. In-out DATW Flipside. It felt so good landing that on my flipside. I also got clipper ss double pickup, which feels awesome. Cale worked double switchover like a mad man. Even though he didn't get it, i had to give him props for working a trick like that constantly for 40 minutes without stopping with an injured hip. He came so incredibly close to hitting it i almost got angry at the bag, but no worries. Another thing i hit was blur. Heres a list of all the new stuff i hit in the last two days.

Blur Strongside
Reverse Meggallen Strongside
Fear Strongside
Tapping Mirage Strongside
Clipper ss Double Pickup Strongside
DATW flipside (I have it both sides now, Yay!)
Came incredibly close to toe set Barrage Strongside

I think thats everything. Now i'm gonna take a week long rest, i want to be in top condition for SJFF. So to all i wish you happy shredding. See ya around

I'M BACK. We'll it's been a while, and i bet "Everyone" wants to know how I'm doing. Well, my game has improved ten fold since i last posted in this thread. At SJFF a guy (Didn't catch name) gave me some advice on form, it changed my footbag game completely. My string length is ten times better then it used to be. I can get strings of 30 contacts tiltless with lots of threes thrown in like BOP's and Rev-Whirls and Dynos and things like that. But overall my shred has advanced to that level where i actually feel like a professional footbagger. It's almost been a full year since i started playing, and i feel i have advanced at a very good pace, if not a very quick one. Footbag is to me as air is to life, and the only thing that'll stop me from pushing on and improving is death, or lose of feet, that would suck. I shall see you all again some day, so shred on, and feed your children before they go to bed. Cheerio!

Well, here we are again. I take huge breaks from posting in this blog because i just don't see the point, but oh well. Had a session today with Cale, it was amazing. Cale can step now and he hit stepping ss mirage, i hit it promptly afterward. My strongside pixies are getting to the point where i can throw them mid string just like that, and my flipside is following suit. But anyways, in other news. Chris May like doesn't play anymore...again. He just like dropped off the face of the earth. To bad, he was really good. But in brighter news concerning me, my butterflies are no longer a problem. They're like a bail for me now, along with pretty much all my tiltless stuff, except illusion (That trick was invented by the devil) though i can hit my strongside Pdx illusion like nothing, which is weird. I throw a lot of frigid set tricks now and i can also hit symple swirl and symposium whirl/rev-whirl. Overall my game is ten times better then when i last posted. Here are some highlights from todays session.

Blur for me
Stepping SS Mirage for both of us
Ripwalk mid string for me
Megellan mid string for me
Frigid Set ss butterfly bs (me)
Cale hit Legbeater (finally)
Spinning Clipper BSOS (me)
came really close to hitting Symp Whirl>Ripwalk

There's probably more stuff I'm just forgetting right now, but anyway, there you go.

Now there is a chance I'll be going to San Diego for the SoCali Jam with Cale, and i think that would be freakin sweet. The shred spot there looks magnificent, and i would be nothing short of bamboozled if i couldn't go. If you read this, pray for me. The only real event I've been to was a day of SJFF, and I've been playing for about a year. Though Eugene is always awesome. Cya.

Well i figured out how to broadcast over the interweb live using my webcam, so now I'm doing that for like every session i can.

Today i did this and got some great feedback. I was challenged to hit many different things, and nearly completed like every single one, but anyways, heres the stuff i did hit.

Dimwalk>Pdx Mirage>rpt
Flail
Atom Smasher>into string
Legbeater>into string
Reverse Whirling Swirl
Symposium Reverse Whirling Swirl
Gyro Clipper b2b
Phoenix (Woohoo! Finally ducked my pixie!)
gyro dyno ending in frigid osis (I think?)
Came really close to Muted Pixie Swirl
Frigid set SS Torque
Double Pickup
Double ATW Out (Finally)
Muted Pixie Clipper>Rev Swirl
Ripwalk>Ripwalk

Nothing else comes to mind, but anyways, I'm gonna be the live broadcasting thing a lot, so if anyone wants to watch me shred, and give tips and challenges, it's very welcome. Anyways, until we meet again i guess, cheers.

Just had an awesome live broadcast session. Hit some new stuff, and did some good tiltless drills. Heres the highlights.

 frigid set ss torque (Mobius with no spin)
 Drifters (YAY!)
 frigid set ss drifter (Vortex but without a spin)
 ripwalk>ripwalk mid string
 Came close to torquescrew

Basically i feel my basics are becoming really solid (Though illusion still needs some work) But otherwise, everything's great. I can myself slowly understanding all these different concepts. I came really close to hitting Blender BSOS, which was really cool. But basically i can actually see myself like becoming Guiltless by the end of the year, if not sooner then that. But anyway, footbag is an awesome game, and i love it. Oh yeah another awesome thing happened today, Cale and I are going to SoCali! It's gonna be awesome. Can't wait to meet all the people that are gonna be there. Peace out everyone.

man drifters would look sweet with your style. Props on that! I completely agree with Zeb on torquescrew. Find the will to just kind of set those aside for a bit. On the other hand, I think you could be guiltless LONG before the end of the year. It's just whether you want to do that or chill at tiltless a little longer and make the foundations even stronger.

All in all it was one of my better solo sessions. Anyways I'm super psyched about SoCAli, and I am pretty sure I'm going sledding with Cale on Sunday, so that should be fun to. I love footbag, it's the most fun I've ever had working out  Hope everybody's enjoying their awesomefootbaglives. I'm off to shower land. I'll never get tired of that place :D Footbag is AWESOME!

Awesome sesh with Cale last night. we played for a solid 6 hours, which is insane for both of us. Some cool stuff though, especially for Cale. We played in his garage as to not disturbe the other people in the house wih our jumping and pounding. It well lit and there was a box of water bottles, and another box of vitamin waters right next to us, so it's like it was made to be shred spot. One thing that happenend this session was my pixies got better. I modified my lacing on my shoes and got some tips from Cale on pixie form, and they started feeling good. Anway here are some highlihts.

 Pixie ss Mirage b2b
 Near Barrage
 Near Double Legover BSOS
 Tripwalk
 20 contacts of legover>mirage>rpt

There was this one drill i was trying to hit that i just couldn't get. It went 10 legovers>10 Pickups>Rpt x 2. I just couldn't get past the second set of ten tricks, be them legovers, or pickups. But anyway like i said. It was an awesome session. We both got a lot done and i feel that if we keep drilling tiltless like that, we'll both generate some crazy endurance. Can't wait to get on that greyhound bus and go on a 22 hour drive to San Diego. SoCali's gonna be sweet.

Ok, a lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. Most notably Cale and I taking a 22 hour bus trip to get down to SoCali. It was a cool event, but sadly i got horribly sick on the way home. It really sucks to be throwing up on a Greyhound bus, knowing that you still have hours to go before you can any kind of comfort. Not having any money left doesn't help. But anyway, in light of recent events, i feel that it's time for me to really crack down on footbag. Coming back from SoCali, I feel as if I'm not as good as i should be. I think i should stop working on Frigid Osis stuff. While it's cool and unique, i really don't think it's helping my game progress. While I won't completely stop using it, it's definitely taking a backseat to everything else...for now. Another decision I've made is to stop trying sets completely. I'm going to wait until i dial my downtime concepts like crazy mad, and the fact that i hate sets in general helps with this decision. Hopefully I'll be able to re-address them later, and get them down. But right now, every kind of set, be it Pixie, Stepping, or Atomic, just seems impossible. I'm at the point to where i just don't want to try any more. Guess thats why I'm taking a break.

Today i had a really good session. I started drilling things i need to work on and nail both sides before i progress any further. I worked whirls, clipper and toe set, and DLO's. I also did a lot of bop stuff, and am happy to say that my Pdx Illusion and Pdx mirage are pretty much equal. It's cool to finally start feeling Illusion becoming a usable trick. I worked my spinning a bit, and hit spinning clipper quite a few times both sides. But Gyro clipper still kills me. I don't understand it at all. Anyways, i hope that Cale and I can really up our game in the coming months. Be ready for some cool new footage then. We might just sneak up and surprise ya!
