This just serves as a small thank you to Erik for everything he has done in the footbag community. Whether it's putting out literally hundreds of videos, cleaning up the trick tips section, offering advice to newcomers, or being one of the most capable hosts I know...I'm pretty sure we're all aware that the Muffin Man is good stuff.

I'll post on the video itself in a little more detail eventually. :)

I thought the lizard was hilarious, and I liked the part where you showed me catching the bag three times to the music. And the close-up of the duck. The music is so incredible, too. I really, really love it. I would love to hear you do more of this style!

I have been waiting a while to watch this video because at home my computer has no sound.

I just want to say that this is so awesome. Truly inspirational. There is so much caring in this sport. No matter how much bickering goes down on this forum, it is only compassion that shines through for me. Great song, great shred, great depiction of good times.

Oh yeah! I was going to post a little bit of commentary on this thing, wasn't I.

Okay, check it out:

Erik wanted me to make a video out of the small bit of footage I had...but I was worried I wouldn't be able to do anything with it because (A) It was only 20 minutes of footage, and (B) because it got dark so fast while we were filming, and I wasn't sure that would work at all. I'm not sure if y'all noticed, but it goes from daylight to night time in 3 minutes.

...but, regardless of (A) and (B), I captured the footage anyway and got to work. As I worked through it, my goal shifted from a video of "Erik Chan's huge trickz and skillz" into more of a video about what footbag does for Erik. There aren't any really gigantic tricks on here, but it doesn't even matter. When he smiles at the end, I really can't help but smile along with him.

Anyway, so just to spotlight some of the fun stuff:

- I think I'm going to be writing my own backing tracks for videos from now on. It's really great having complete control of both audio and video.
- At about 1:16 or 1:17, you can hear Erik saying "Hackrifice!" It's very faint, and if you don't know what it sounds like ahead of time, you probably won't hear it. Go watch Erik's "Ready or Not" video, and you'll hear him say it there.
- I really like the shot at 1:57. The lamps are nice alongside the climax of the track...but also, other than some small bits at the beginning, it kind of stands out as one of the only still-shots in the video. It was intended to be a bit of a tribute to all the tripod stuff Erik has put out. Just picture that same shot with some Nightwish playing in the background and you'll see what I mean.

- 2:30...note the wall behind Erik. 2:42...no wall. THAT'S because I flipped the clip horizontally to avoid breaking the 180 degree rule. It wasn't flipped originally, but Dat Phan pointed out the rule to me. DAMN does it look better this way! (despite the not-so-obvious continuity error)

Hey, thanks again everyone. I guess my next project is Hackrifice '07 for the Joulukalenteri.

This video is sooo much more sentimental with the commentary! I finally caught the Hackrifice. It's awesome! It's kind of funny though, because it's not me saying it, it's my brother who I got to say it for me for a tribute to Sam Colclough's Oops video from even before that. It goes [my brother:] "Haaaaackrifice" [Sam Colclough:] "is the best thing in the world!" (Cropped from the original [Sam Colcough:] "Oops is the best thing in the world!")
I really how it sounds kind of stretched to the music.
