Laces in the way

Post by Bringerofpie »

My shoelaces tend to get in the way of my playing by snagging the bag. Is there a solution to this problem besides tucking them into the shoe?

You can tape them to your shoe, or buy shorter laces. I had super short laces on my older lavers and I just left them tied, so they were like slippers. The laces never got in the way.

Why don't you want to tuck them in?

my laces always get in the way. Im going to cut them today, i would just be careful thought when cutting them. If you cut too much you can uncut them, so cut them a little at a time or somethin.

I tuck my laces into my shoes and they normally stay in too, so you won't have to worry about them coming out.

I don't like tucking because I'm one of those people who gets bothered by wrinkles in my sock and the like.

This reminds me of a thread I started awhile ago. And look, there it is!

I no longer tie the laces around my ankle, because I got new lavers and the laces aren't that long, but on the poll part theres a couple of other methods listed.

Thanks for the response. I'm going to try lacing them back through and wearing them like slippers. I like my shoes loose anyways.

I'll tell you how it is.

cut em to the ideal length (measure this by tying them comfortably, but with much smaller loops and cut off the excess) and then pinch a small gob of shoe goo onto the ends so they dont fray. or super glue.

Lacing back through does not work.

I use 40 inch laces and tie them off center to the outsides of the tongue. This way the inside surface and toe box are clear of the laces.
Go out and shred already.

I'm going to try tying them through the loop on the top of the tongue and wearing them as slippers (I never tie or untie them anyway). If I like that I'll cut 'em.
