The above post is not very good. You've had bags from two people, what do you have to compare to? I'm not saying those stitchers are bad, that's just not a good statement. Like, "I've had a dog and a cat, and those are awesome pets!". What about fish?
i havent really found some of the legends bags, as a new item.
ff is a standard bag. everyone needs one, but there are better. i wish the old size/style was still around. drawn on logo days ftw.
the old abshires are way different than now. the new ones are very nice.
never seen a broken in carol. zekes is new, and pretty, but light imo.
pipenbergs old bags are really great. havent broken one in myself.
hermey bags are pretty dope.
lonn. still the prettiest/best feeling of any legends bags. and thats that.
funk knows what hes doing.
clavens makes nice ones, but i dont own one, so no real opinion.
holly. quite possibly the nicest/prettiest ones ive seen were from her
myself- i guess mine are good. could be better. lots o peeps seem to like em
tom/peng- right up there in the top ranks. some really nice bags from these two!
erik chan bags are picking up steam, and im sure he'll amount to something great.
waylon has the best consistancy, but he kinda slacks on production number from what i can tell... so i guess thats his only downfall.
and im sure there are bags that i havent felt seen or played that would blow my mind. perhaps ilja, cod, facile ff, MC, Hania, ? could be my real favorites. i wouldnt know though.
of course this is all subjective. i havent played alot of these bags to death, much less do it multiple times from owning more than one. every bag is made to that stitchers prefernces in most cases, so i would call mine my favorite/best because thats exactly what i want from a bag. im sure davids bags are his fav, funks are funks fav, and so on.
i didnt know carol is stitching again. where can i get one?
the bags i think are rad: me, brian, tom mosher, pengpeng, hermey, aiden, funk, josh raye amaretta, and clavens (i dont own a clavens, but ive played with a few)... that list is only half in order.
yeah, ive heard great things about carol bags, and if someone knows where to buy, then spill! =) i just got my abshires today, and they are so sweet. ive played with a holly and hania ( i think) and josh raye bags at worlds, and they all both sweet! but i do definitely love the size and weightiness of abshires work, IMO. but thats just my preference, like brian said. when i get good at stitching, i will make mine small and heavy like richie's.
I think Clavens has the best weight:size ratio (and non-toxic, if that matters to you), but Funk has the best stitching.
Clavens just seemed to pump out bags like nothing during the summer. He had a lot of orders, so I think he progressed quite a bit. I have an old Clavens, a clavens from like, two weeks before worlds, and one from worlds. They're all really good, but I like the one from right before worlds the most. Yeah, I would recommend his bags the most if you like smaller - mediumsmallish sized bags.
My Funk bag isn't broken in yet. It has a really good weight though, but I think it will get too big when it's broken in.
My Brinard bag is also really good, but it seems a bit too heavy and if you take any out it's not full enough (although still a really really good bag, like one of the best).
Ummm. My Holly bag was the last one taken at worlds, so I won't compare it with the rest of her bags. Penske had a super super nice one though, she's a good stitcher.
I played with a couple Fearless 55's at worlds, those are really good.
I played with an old Carol bag, and I think they're way too light for today's preferences, although I'm sure she could adapt to whatever everybody wants.
Pipenberg makes good bags, but they're amaretta so they die pretty fast, and I think anybody could make a good bag with amaretta. Really good bags though, great size and fill ratio.
But yeah. Best stitcher is preference. My mini clavens is my favorite bag right now. Don't take my words as the bible or anything though, this is all preference. Seriously I think you just have to experiment (like Dave alluded to).
And the bag you buy won't matter as long as you take care of it (I mean, it won't make you progress slower). Buy from a reputable stitcher and you won't be disappointed. Promise.
Longer post than intended. Sorry.

Remember Jeremy Mirken's bags? They were so big and juicy.
I have a James Hermey from early this year (like back in January). It's starting to become choice now. It's a nice bag. I'm pretty sure he still stitches once in awhile. A decent bag, but not really what I like to play with. Matt Cross also noted that this more recent bag was nicer than previous Hermey bags.
At worlds, Vasek was looking to see if Carol would make him some footbags too.
I still regard Lonn's to be the holy grail.
But really, this is all just a matter of opinion. There's SOOO many good bags out there now. It's like trying to decide on which wine you want at the liquor store. I was amazed at Worlds to see that everyone makes the best bags in the world now. Now it's for players to decide which bag suits their tastes/style the best. Even Tina makes bags.

"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
stitching + modified = many AWESOME stitchers in a short period of time.
it used to be that people got critiqued on their style from a few people who bought their bags. Now, Kid X posts his 1st through 5th bags on modified, Awesome Stitcher Y sees those bags, and tells Kid X "your bags suck, and you need to change the following 5 things:".
at this point, Kid X has received immediate feedback, and can immediately begin acting in regard to this feedback.
consequently, there are a LOT more good stitchers out there than there were just a few years ago.
So, experiment. Get a few bags from a few of the people mentioned. And, even though I've only been mentioned once, you might consider getting one from me. Nick Landes likes them. Dave Clavens was liking one this weekend, too. Ken Somolinos used one at worlds in competition. So did Ben Roscoe.
Peng taught me to stitch and I love her bags. Oxana Prihodko gave me a bag she made at worlds, and it's totally choice. Josiah Digges made amazing bags before he'd made 15 bags total, but he quit.
So is the pricetag on a lambourgini. And it's also absurd to be giving props to your own bags. Edit: Vaska doesn't walk around saying, "I'm the best ever." He represents and let's other people say it for him.
Looks like Lonn is still number one, but she doesn't make bags
Carol = gold
Abshire = yum
Aiden = yippee
Clavens = primal
etc.
