Hey Matt, sorry I didn't see that till now, I can definitely help give you a sweet head mod.

So, life's been good since my birthday.

Birthday footbag club was alot of fun!

Here is a great story from that night:

Liam had brought over his sweetest triple-filtration bong all cozy and wrapped up in a few towels to keep it safe.

I saw it sitting on a chair and joked that the seat looked super comfy now.

This prompted me to joke that someone should leap enthusiastically into the chair and eventually started really encouraging our friend Andrius to do just that.

See, to me it was all a hilarious joke, I was proposing something ABSURD and that was the joke.

Well.. it turned out that Andrius had no idea that I was just playing around and he took me completely seriously.

I'd been going on and on about how someone should really jump into that seat with lots of extra force and he thought "well, it's tom's birthday I should make him happy!"....

Just after I proposed we take a break from the shred for a 'session' I suggested one last time that someone take me up on my offer of the super comfy chair, all the while still being totally silly and joking.

Well.. Andrius took me completely seriously and as he ran towards the seat I thought he was joking too... up until he carried his momentum right into the seat DESTROYING Liam's sweetest bong.

I thought it was the funniest thing in history since I couldn't believe the absurd thing I was proposing got taken seriously and acted out on.

Liam was obviously kinda bummed, but andrius and I will replace his bong and life will go on.

Fun times!

Last night I had my first solo session in foreeeeever since nobody showed up to footbag club. It kinda makes me wonder why I am putting effort into providing club space if nobody is going to come. It's a good thing I havn't reserved the community center room yet or I'd have to pay it all myself.

It's cool though, some club meetings are insane, we've got a real booming posse and it's lots of fun.

Pengpeng came out to shred with me and the club on Sunday and it was fun. She's so cute!

She made me the bestest birthday present ever and I am really stoked on it. It's a thing of a whole bunch of great photos of us and our old house and lotus and stuff. It really meant alot to me that she put so much work and thought into it.

She's a great girl.

I am writing this all at work and I am scared of getting in trouble.. but I don't have anything to do just this moment...

Anyways, I am off for now.

Feel free to post in here saying Hi, it's always nice.

PS tonight I am racing in some fixed gear sprints VS the toronto guys, wish me luck! :D

Hey Tom!

FOOTBAG!

You should get a fixed gear forum started over at http://www.talkfreestyle.com/

This summer I got this super sweet pipe that my dad use to smoke on when he was a hippie. Really slick.
I took it with me to this festival showed it to everybody how sick it was.
Then at night somebody stepped on it and I never even got to smoke it.

I am working on an Asmus Goofing Off Video! Inspired by you :D

That would be easy my sweet!

I just got back from some fixed gear sprints. Basically just drag races down a strip of road with lots of fellow bikers cheering you on.

It was pretty crazy actually!

Toronto has a really strong fixed gear scene and I am happy to say that I've been welcomed as one of them. :)

On an annoying note, I got TWO flats tonight! I need some chubbier tires!

Oh yeah, I still play lots of footbag. (905)shred meeting yesterday was fun, there was four of us, myself, Liam, Adam (built like penske, you'll see) and Josh from Hamilton. I kinda suck at footbag these days and never really have any highlights, but I am still having fun. My big progress will come when I finally have time to really drill and focus on my game.

Oh.. maybe I should mention something pretty giant that I keep forgetting to mention here...

As the plan stands right now I am moving to Berlin in February.

By coincidence one of my new fixed gear friends, the guy that I go out big tricking with, will also be moving to Berlin in Feb interestingly. His name is Toby and I have a feeling he is going to have a big influence on me.

He is sorta the equivalent of me in the fixie scene in Toronto. He organizes alot of the races and he's the bounding excited guy, so we totally get along. He's the guy that ran the alleycat race I competed in and the sprints tonight.

Fuuuck, I have more to type but I reaaally need to sleep, work starts so early. In fact I have to get up even earlier than I had been since as of tuesday I have been working in a different department at work and they start earlier. So that means I have to be fueled and with a lunch packed and out the door by 7:05 AM. Which is to say, in like 6 hours so I better get to bed.

Oh and on Monday I went to Toronto (twice actually) and I stocked up on hoodies and T's so here comes a wave of crap! Oh yeah, and I think that maybe running my for sale thing by listing what I have and just selling that will go the smoothest because then I can't get behind. Smart!

More to come soon.

You can see me off to the back right.

The guy with his bike perpendicular to the shot is the guy I bought my new wheelset off. He was also the first person I raced at the sprints and I waaasted him with his old wheels. 8)

Waaaah, everyone in the TO fixed scene has craaazy track bikes, I NEED one ASAP. Also, I've all but destroyed my current whip so it's time anyways.

I got the details on what Peng wants for her new bike, I am going to build her an awesome fast bike!

PS when did this become a bikeblog? :P

PPS footbag club is tonight! yay!

Tom Mosher! Woot!

I PM'ed you a bit ago inquiring about Cornell, but I never got a response; I assume your inbox is full. I re-sent it just now,

And a question, where do you play with the 905'ers now that it is cold out?

I shoulda read my blog before leaving!

CFJ2 was awesome, I will write a full blob for it tomorrow, but don't worry I will.

I don't have time to tell the full story right now, but last night I competed in my second alleycat race through Toronto and it was amazing.

I have a track bike now too, finally something legit to ride on!

I will post pictures and write about that too.

For now I am heading to bed, 6AM comes waaaay too soon.

I am loving life!!!
:D

edit: Peng is gay and edited my post adding "AND I am gay!!"

Here are some pictures someone else took from the bike race I was in on Tuesday:

The start of the race, I am on the right wearing every single pink garment I own. (Pants, shirt, hoodie, wallet, socks, hat and belt) (It was a Halloween race)

Image

Toby, my bike buddy that is also moving to Berlin in February by coincidence.

Image

This is the guy that at the start of the race I wound up behind and chose to follow. You have to understand that there was no set course or closed streets, this is a frantic scramble to 9 different locations scattered through downtown Toronto on open streets! Of note is the fact that I don't know the city well enough to make it from one location to another, let alone all of them in a frantic race. This meant that I HAD to stay on the tail of whoever I picked at the start of the race and stick to him to the end. hahah Anyways, it has worked out for my two races so far, and this guy (mark) was really nice.

Image

This guy was also with us a bunch of the time.

The race winner.

I need to go do some stuff, I will get into some of the crazy stories involved in just *getting* to the race soon. I'm so busy lately, it's fun!

Hey buddy!

Just thought I'd give you a shout to say that the super-pink bag you sold me at Wakahakkee is coming along wonderfully. I had only been using it in solo session, but yesterday busted it out for Mike and Alex, and it is nearing maximum-hoiceness. :D

Also, I'm feeling like we should shred sometime soon. Where you at? Toronto session? Oakville session? I'm in like sin.
