Ok, so, you found yourself reading my blog.

I have an honest question which I am not sure if the answer is somewhere on mod'd or not.

I see people do quantum ducking and they call it "alpine"
I see people do stepping ducking and they call it "alpine"
I see people do atomic ducking and they call it "alpine"

if "alpine" is an uptime dex with a duck/dive ... if someone says they hit "alpine ________" how do you know what THAT particular trick was?

was it a stepping ducking? or was it a quantum diving? OH really, it was an atomic zulu?

quantum ducking butterfly = alpine tripwalk
stepping ducking butterfly = alpine ripwalk
atomic ducking butterfly = alpine legbeater
atomic diving butterfly = alpine tapdown

etc..

Since the moves without a duck in between have different names adding alpine still leaves it with a unique name.

I asked this question awhile back, and basically alpine is whenever you have a uptime set with a duck/dive. Like alpine blurry whirl, alpine tripwalk, alpine legbeater and etc. And to answer your question, you have to look at the name after alpine to figure out what set it's from and what the trick is.

Hope this has helped. I'll try to find the thread I started about "Alpine" and post the link if I do find it.

I get it!

Alpine is NOT specifying what it was, only that there were those 2 components, the name afterward specifies what it was.

which makes the terminology somewhat unique.

very cool.

so I was just trying tripwalk several times.

footed it alot
pulled a muscle so I will resume it at a later date.

I am seriously considering moving. I would like to move somewhere that has an already established footbag community so I can shred with some folks on a regular basis. somewhere that has a climate which is shreddable year-round.

anybody read this, gimme some good Ideas of places I could move to.
