haha i cant wait until i hit a phoenix... that will be so sick. ayways, the other session i started trying atomic sets, uptime, and hat do you know, i am actually pretty decent at it. i came VERY close to hitting opp clipper out of it, but not quite. definitely next session, though. also, i hit pixie ss mirage strongside, and footed flip. i hit flipside parkwalk (woohoo! first flip 4 add) and i ducked my pixie again. also, my diving clippers are very clean now... ill try them flipside next session. yogan has started hitting fairie sets, so of course now i have to. i drilled them in socks last night and got a few about waist high right into my hand. out>in atws seem to help alot. haha for some strange reason my flipside fairy is muchmuch better, just like my atomic. i dunno why... kinda cool. so yeah, leave your two cents. tips on atomic and fairie sets would be much appreciated. later everybody... im gonna try to hook up a session with yogan and chris tomorrow.

Hey man, I'm wondering if you are a Christian?

also, Atomic sets:

start with the set foot right under your body. Real close to your plant foot. In my opinion (IMO) the atomic dex should begin at the VERY moment the bag is ABOUT to leave your toe. imagine your foot is rising with the bag on it. then your foot is beginning to stop rising, the bag will soon begin it's take off from your foot. bring that leg over the path of the rising bag. from here, you can figure out where you want to go. TAPPING is if you do a trick on the same side. ATOMIC is if you do something on the other side.

fairy sets:

I aint the guy to tell you about this. I have not learned the secret to these yet.

Yay an update! It's been a while since you have updated this sucker. Your atomic set is pretty good, and i like the way leggy atomics look, pretty sweet. Keep working the fairy, I'm really close to hitting opp mirage out of it, so that would be sweet. HXCFOOTBAG I can tell you that i think Cale is a Christian, though not in the conventional sense of the word. We both go to a youth group, and i can tell you that i think he's one of the best friends I've had, and a brother in Christ. It seems like an odd question, why do you ask?

well, i am finding out that my right hip/groin area can really hurt pretty bad after a day of atomics and pixie drilling. it really sucks and takes at least a day or two to go away. anyone else have this problem? i stretch and all that, but it still happens. anyways, because of that, i couldnt hit double switchover when i totally should have, because of a gimp setting leg. i know i will once ive recooperated though, so hats cool. i had my first session with chris may yesterday, and it was tight. im glad we have three guys shredding in rogue valley now... and he will totally push me and yogan to get better i can tell already. w have to think of a sweet name for our crew..... ideas anyone? (play off rogue valley, shredders, footbag, yknow) later guys, keep it cool

How about The Rogue Valley Footbag Association, RVFA. I like that, but we can change it if for any reason you don't like it. I'll tell Chris about our footblog, post in there from now on. Catch you later dude, we should have another session this weekend with Chris, we'll see. Shred on dude, and i hope your hip is feeling better.

HEY EVERYONE! im getting stoked for SJFF....just a few more days now! im looking forward to getting tips on all the things i struggle with from people who are better than myself. im bringing lots of moolah for bags, so im super excited! worlds was awesome, and this should be just as good! (although there is an epic 10 hour drive included) as far as my footbag progress.... im still SO close to double downtime dexes.... double switchover, ss double pickup and double down are just weeks away, i can tell. BS, too! im happy with where i am at right now, i just wish i had some decent filming equipment to document my sack saga. maybe christmas =) also, my stitching is getting VERY good! i made a pretty nice bag recently that is great... i used a loose stitch instead of blind, and boy did that improve my bag! i cant wait to get some decent material. for now im cutting up old bags for facile haha well hopefully ill see some of you at SJFF... take care!

well, SJFF was sweet! i bought a few bags from aaron shepard, an awesome stitcher, freestyler, and person. he helped me alopt with some stitching tips. his bags are just beautiful. i got better at juggling just by watching peter irish and jorden moir. and also... i found out one of the most important things about my game so far in my footbag career..... ive decided to be a barefoot shredder. there are lots of reasons i made this choice, and ill list them.

-socks are very comfortable. i have huge feet, so cramming them in small shoes isnt cool.
-i cut off my toe walls anyways.... with socks my sets are downright sick
-i am much more balanced
-my posture is waaay better
-i play more on my toes
-i land softer
-my feet are lighter and allow faster, tighter dexes (proof later in post)
-i can feel the bag more

basically, my barefoot game is leagues past my shoe game. although clippers are somewhat difficult, ive always loved toe moves more than clipper moves. and i think being unique is what footbaqg is all about anywyas... why not be even more unique? zeb and aaron, you guys inspired me at SJFF, as well as a bunch of videos by gphox on youtube. i feel alot nimbler and smoother, and my style and rythym gets instantly better without huge clogs on my feet. and heres some proof that my decision is viable:

tonights session was done completely barefoot, with my brand new aaron shepard bag. (hes the man! buy his bags) anywaqys, here are my accomplishments:

-magellan, bs and BSOS!
-pixie legover, bs and BSOS
-smear BS
-far legover bs
-pixie ss mirage BS
-ducked pixie BS (flip side skill SOARED tonight)

i found out how to hop into sets like ive heard about for awhile.. i understand it now and my fli pixie is so crazy. unfortunately, theres something weird about my strongside pixie, so i have to fix that... but for now i can still hit all y stuff out of hit. im focusing on toe combos for now... i love toe games. anyways, i hope you enjoyed this post, and leave me comments about my new shred technique of barefoot. later guys.

Awesome stuff.
Are you still having that groin pain?
I had something similar from atomic sets and, like, PS whirls, about 4 or 5 years ago, and it's never gone away and no doctors ever found out what was wrong. If you still have the pain I suggest you see a doctor.

Did I meet you at Worlds??

You're heading "somebody please comment" made me want to comment. I read a few posts ago that you were going to be a barefoot only player. In my opinion, barefoot is a fun thing to be able to do, and can be good for practicing certain aspects, but I was glad to read more recently that with a lower profile, shoes were working for you. I think in the long run shoes of some sort are needed to protect your feet from the pounding they will take as you get into more and more difficulty. Of course, you have to do what feels right for you, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Good luck!

haha i know.... but my crank is barely good enough for it in shoes..... barefoot makes it very very hard for me. im sure yogan could do a breat osis barefoot, but he seems to be the exact opposite of me.... way way better in shoes, and not very good barefoot (sorry yog).
