This Thread started as "Who made the first 32 panel footbag ever? and when?" But Jeremy turn it into "Why Jeremy hates Americans and America.... "

I know the history on the footbag pretty much. “An American sport invented in 1972, by John Stalberger and Mike Marshall.".....ect.ect...
But when did the footbag become what it is today? I know the first 32 panel footbag ever made is probably nothing like you would see from today’s stitchers. But who changed it? And when?

Maybe they were the first to patent it? ... Juice Footbag? I did not think you could patent a pattern. As long as you made yours bigger or smaller then the original. I did not know there was a patent on the Truncated Icoahedron (soccer) pattern. What about the Tridodec?

Are Chuck Norris jokes now officially the lamest jokes ever, and if not, how long until they are?

I would be willing to bet it was a soccer mum or something related, and that it had nothing to do with footbag, but was just a little soft soccer ball replica for a little kid to kick around inside. 1940 is probably a good guess.

I hate Chuck Norris sayings because they are about 2 years old, telling the same joke over and over for two years gets boring. You probably fail to understand that since you're American and have an intelligence comparable with 12 year olds from the rest of the world.

In all seriousness, I never attack general American people. I'm a staunch anti-nationalist, and I find people who identify themselves strongly with their nation (ie. Hitler, Stalin, Mugabe, yourself etc.) rather offensive. I often attack America on this forum because the majority of members are American, and also very American centric, so there are plenty of opportunities to criticise the poor policies of your government, and much less opportunities to criticise the poor government policies of countries like Malaysia or Liberia (two countries that are basically bastadations of American values - as in they were founded in the image of the USA).

As an American, if you choose to be part of global communities then you're going to have to expect to see your nation criticised as the greediest and most self centred country in the world. That's not to say there aren't worse countries to live in, because there obviously are, and there are plenty of good and bad things about the US, and other countries, however due to the US' size and influence, especially in the Western world, as well as the grandiose claims that are often made about your country, you're going to have to expect criticism.

When you respond with personal insults to criticism against your country, it makes you look childish, ignorant and incapable of intelligent discussion. Instead of supporting your cause, you actually make it look worse. The reality is that the rest of us outside of the US find much of your politics repulsive and because we can't vote in your elections, our only option is to make sure our voices are heard so that we can push the middle ground towards a more rational position, instead of allowing you to continue to wallow in your self absorption.

For the record "Analytical Therapist" is a joke from an award winning American TV show called "Arrested Development."

It's hilarious that you basically label yourself a nationalist and then criticise somebody else's intelligence. Tomorrow (Australian time) is November the 11th, and most of the world has a moment of reflection and sobriety at the eleven past 11 on that day. Do you know why? What was the cause of what people are remembering?

Aliens did it mannnnn. Just look at the weird patters that come out of stitchers minds. I don't think I've ever seen any of the stitchers I know wearing a tin foil cap, so the Aliens are tapping into their heads mannn. We're being taken over mannnn. Just look at how silly footbag looks when you can't see the sac. It's like some crazy Jupitertonianite rituals....ahhh mannnnn, man.

You're trying to walk a very thin line there & I think you failed. I'm reading this as you basically saying "I don't attack Americans, I attack America, because of Americans."

Whether or not you can really call the Americans on this forum "American centric" seems like a whole lot of you making assumptions, and very little real knowledge of the people posting here. I'm sure you can dig up some quotes from some dumbasses, but you'll be playing the exact game you disavowed in your above post - generalizing based on individual actions.

I think about the people I kick with - people who weren't born in the freaking US & have lived abroad, people with a lot of the same political leanings as I do & serious concerns about what the US gov't does, others that travel extensively, etc. and it doesn't fit into this American-centric idea at all. So stuff your generalizations up your ass.

Often times, I think I agree with your political position, and yet you argue like an asshole. Also, I'm pretty sure people chose to be part of a Footbag community, not a political discussion forum - so maybe with that expectation in mind it would be incumbent on you to save your endless political bickering for a different forum. A forum full of people who like to argue as much as you do.

Let's see, skimming the other shit... you seem to not notice the irony of your own statements... oh here's a good bit:

Sorry for turning this into a Discussion forum thread everybody.

Jeremy, I expect you're already finding something you want to come back and argue about, some re-explanation of your post, pointing out some time where you were very careful not to generalize... fine. I won't bother responding. I'm tired of seeing threads get bogged down in endless arguing between you and basically any number of different posters over the stupidest or most insignificant topics, bickering over technicalities, the defensiveness, the "I'm always right-ness," etc etc. But really just the endlessness pisses me off. You made some points, somebody else makes a point, can it ever end there? No, it has to become this stupid bigger dick contest about who has more free time to waste on salvaging their internet ego. Fuck it.

I think if you have a problem with jeremy you should take it up in a pm instead of posting a tpoic on it
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

You misinterpret my post, deliberately? When I say that the Americans on this forum are "American centric" (in general), I simply mean that they talk about American issues a lot. America is the only country where people post topics to celebrate national holidays. Americans are the only people on this forum that will give you two letters when you ask where they're from, rather than a country. It's not a criticism, it's clearly a cultural thing, and it means discussion of American issues comes up a lot more than Australian issues. I do post on Australian forums as well, and getting in the same sorts of arguments for being "anti-Australian" - people on this forum just don't see that, because nobody here posts about Australian issues.

All I did was make a throw away line about not liking Chuck Norris jokes. It had nothing to do with America. I was then attacked and defended myself. If I wrote a post insulting you, would you respond to it, or just not say anything?
Let's see, skimming the other shit... you seem to not notice the irony of your own statements... oh here's a good bit:

That's not what I said, and I again question whether you are deliberately misinterpreting me. As a non-American, if I want to have my voice heard in American politics, which do have a big effect on my life, the only thing I can do is voice my opinion to Americans.
Sorry for turning this into a Discussion forum thread everybody.

Ah, the hold; "I'm going to insult you, but if you respond you suck" argument. If you didn't want a response, why did you post? Surely you must know that if you attack somebody they're going to respond. The reality is that this is a forum. It's very existence revolves around people discussing issues. There is no obligation to read those discussions or participate in them. If you choose to, don't blame other people for responding to you, blame yourself for your participation. Discussion has many positives, although maybe it takes maturity to see them (yes this could be seen as a veiled insult, and I accept that, but please accept my word that it's simply an observation I've noticed, and not an attempt at an insult).

The first mention of the US came from this post;
Guydro wrote:Your just saying the because Chuck Norris is a American. And that soccer mom was probably an American too.
"I HATE A Dumb Americans!!! They raped my mom and killed my dog" said Jeremy The Analytical Therapist as he cried into his pillow.

Did you honestly think I wouldn't respond to that post? How can you say that I turned it into this, when you write a post like that, which was the first mention of anything anti-American in this topic? Of course I'm going respond if you insult me. I will keep responding to attacks and insults. If you don't want me to respond, don't do it. The blame, if someone were to be blamed, clearly lies at you, for going out of your way to insult me, because I don't like Chuck Norris jokes.
