Ah Kamil... I liked the first one better. 
Scott D. came and left. During the session (maybe 10/19) when he was here I collected e-mail addresses for three people who were really interested. Did any of them show up for the next session? Nope. Did I really expect them to? Nope. Did I hope that at least one of them would?
BUT, on Friday the other person (a friend from class) I was hoping would show up did. He started off not being able to kick it more than 4 (uncontrolled) times. At that point his goal for the session was 6 consecutive kicks. He ended up getting about 25 consecutive kicks before the end of the session. Woo! AND he didn't think he'd be able to but he learned both toe stalls.
He, Dustin and I kicked for a long time before another surprise guest showed up. Steve. A few years ago he and his friend Alex randomly saw Jeremy, Fletch and I kicking on campus. I remember them doing/trying crazy tricks. Yesterday he tried pixie ducking butterfly ending on dragon. He came stupidly close to it a few times. He brought his 11 month old daughter and she got way more attention from passerbys than the people playing footbag did.
Brian arrived a few minutes after my friend left. It was neat, we had 3-4 people in the circle at all times during that session.
As for me: I again forgot to bring the list of stuff I want to work on. Ducking seems like it's getting a bit better. Ripwalks are getting more consistent again. Footbag will feel more fun once I start playing at least once a week
and especially once it's more than once a week. We just decided that Friday is our set day to play every week. Dustin and I are going to play this Monday too.
Oooh I felt my first earthquake last week! It was the night before Halloween. At first it felt like there was construction going on the floor below me in the building, but then it got stronger and everything started to sway/shake. It was cool. People around me said that it was long too, but it was shorter than I had imagined an earthquake would be. The epicenter was 45 minutes away from here and was a 5.6. The only damage done there was some jars falling off of a supermarket shelf and some ceiling tiles falling down in Target. It was good that it happened though, because it got me to complete my earthquake kit. I already had the 5 gallon jug of water in the garage (in a bad earthquake people can be without clean water for a week) but now I have a supply of canned food too.
AND: On Friday mid morning I was in a supermarket I never go to and while in line I heard someone call my name. It was Matt Kain, who I haven't seen in like a year. I had wondered recently if he was even in this part of the country anymore. We chatted, yada yada.

I want to feel an earthquake, too. I slept through a little one in Georgia a few years ago. I was so mad when I got to school and everyone was talking about it. Mom and I had a funny moment about a month ago where our neighbors somehow shook our living-room floor, and we just looked at each other like, "Oh my god, is this an earthquake?" Hehe. Then I heard the neighbors and was like, "Oh..." They slam their doors and run up and down the steps and anything else noisy like that ALL the time.

I was reorganizing some folders on my computer and found an old rough draft of a school paper. This is old, from the first Anthropology class I took which was Anthro. of Religion. I ended up having to drop it later due to poor health, but that’s beside the point. The first assignment in the class was to get people in the class to understand the way their religious upbringings and beliefs had changed them, their outlooks on life and the way they live within their own country. Something like that. He wanted family history, etc, to help paint a clearer picture. When I opened it today I was reminded of a series of questions Jeremy M. asked me a short while ago. Maybe this'll help you understand where I'm coming from, Jeremy. Or maybe you're over this topic by now.

Death is an action that I like to observe in different subcultures. For me, Death need not be personified; death is the lack of anything, not a great force. Death doesn’t take people, people die; they become dead. As an atheist, I feel that life is even more precious because it is a one-time deal. That is okay. It is very sad to me, but I feel that this world and life is wonderful enough that to expect more would be greedy.
It’s funny to see what non-Atheists think of me and my beliefs. Some say that I have no beliefs, some say that I’m in denial, some say that it is religion that holds this country together. “It’s what keeps us moralâ€

As the title reads, Anne Thygesen is at my house. She arrived in Santa Cruz yesterday afternoon and she'll be going back to LA mid day on Tuesday. I picked her up yesterday and we drove to Stanford to kick with Abram, Peter, and Jeff. Steve and Alex were out of town at some footbag tournament. 
Abram helped me with stepping and paradon.
I don't remember everything but I hit

Since Anne was visiting Stanford, we made sure to play 4-square to give her a more Stanfordy experience. We also had a mirage rippin run, other individual move rippin runs, and an infinity race.
It was really fun seeing the guys again.
After Anne and I left Stanford we went to a restaurant the net players were at. There was a Chaos/Santa Cruz (mini?) tourny and they were out celebrating Jeremy's birthday. When the videos from dinner come out I'll be sure to post them somewhere.
The some of the Chaos players there had been to Copenhagen so they talked with Anne about that. Footbag is crazy.
After the restaurant, Angel, EJ, Jeremy, Fletch, Anne and I met at my house, drank beer (I'm not a big beer drinker so I had my chocolate port, yummm), and watched Apocalypto which I hadn't seen before. It wasn't good until the final chase scene which lasted for like 1/3 of the movie. We ate birthday pumpkin pie- which reminds me, I need to go have some breakfast. 
Tonight Jeremy said he'd probably kick with Anne, so it'll probably be the two of them, Dustin, and me.
Edit: Oh yeah, Dustin and I played yesterday. For me it was a crap session, but we had Christine kick with us for a while and after she left Jacob showed up. I reminded them that Christmas is coming up and told them how to find the right kind of lavers. She's going to try to get her schedule so she can kick with us at least once a week on a regular basis. He's not that committed yet.

Session on campus today. Anne, Dustin, Jacob (newer), Christine, Brian, David (ex-Seattle resident, roomed with Dan F., knew Allen H. and Sam P., can do mirage), Christine's friend Jesus who was trying toe stalls, and little old me. I suggested 4-square since most of the people there hadn't played it before and we hardly ever have 4 people at a session at once. There was also a guy who came up and was willing to try. He already had toe and inside stalls suuper easily. I told him when/where we kick. I don't think he'll come again, but you never know.
At one point Dustin, Jacob, Christine, Anne and I were the circle. I pointed out how rare it is for the women to outnumber the guys in a circle at an informal session.

Anne was super motivated and was the entertainment for the rest of us during the last 10 minutes of the session since she was the only one kicking anymore. I hit flox3 which breaks my record of 2.
Jeremy, Anne and I went to dinner at a sushi place and got loads of food. We came back and watched Borat which she had never seen before. She had to see it here in the States. Tomorrow Anne is planning on kicking before I drop her at the bus station around noon. She is a great house guest and a good shred buddy.

Anne kicked today after we woke up. I got a chair and watched because I don't do anything right after waking up. Yesterday she hit ripwalk (first stepping trick) for the first time, and today she hit it several more times! Yay for her.
