Has anyone ever taken a pshycology class in college.

I was wondering if you did because I seem to understand a lot of it and i am only in 7th grade. We dont learn about it in school but i came across it while i was doing magic tricks and it involved the mind and I have basically come up with my own techniques of using phsycology to my advantage such as mind games, and figuring out who people like

I took a psych class in college. Thats how I learned one of my favorite footbag tricks; the Dustpan.

If you really want to get good at Dustpan, just take a college psych class, and after you get bored with it, step outside and practice Dustpan.

I mean, there might be another way to learn this trick, but if I there is, I don't want to know about it.

Do you think there could be some sort of relationship between what kind of class you skip and what sort of trick you learn as a result?

Looking back, I think I mostly learned clippers at, like, three in the morning under the bright lights of the Engineering Center of my college. They teach alot of math classes in the Engineering Center.

Also, three in the morning in Colorado probably meant that there was some math class going on at that very same moment in some college in Australia.

Weird.

It does make sense that a move like clipper, which is conventional and unambiguous is associated with maths, while a move like dustpan, which is less conventional and a lot harder to understand is associated with psychology. Although mainly I learnt clipper like that because it was the second easiest move to do sitting down after toe stalls (and I remained seated while learning it )

I guess the lesson is, kids if you want to get good at footbag, stay in school

I learnt toe stalls and atw waiting for the school bus.

I think the main relationship between psychology and dustpan is that not a lot happens in a classroom that teaches psychology. So dust just collects and collects, so Jon subconsciously wanted to clean the dust, but didn't have the resources, so he learned dust pan.


Math is associated with clipper for this reason. Some people call remote controls "clickers". Clipper sounds like clicker. Remote controls resemble calculators. Calculators are used in math.


I still don't know why I learned symp whirls in a printing class.

i'm taking intro to psych at CU right now and it is basically a joke. so no, you're not smart, you can't spell, you probably don't understand it anyway, and next time you're wondering if you're smart just remind yourself that you're in 7th grade and say, 'oh yeah!'

I've read a lot on evolutionary psychology actually, there are some great break insights being made, especially about religion, how it developed and why it developed. Lewis Wolpert is a really good read (actually an evolutionary biologist, but writing about evolutionary psychology), as well as Steven Pinker, Scot Attran, Jonathan Haidt and Daniel Dennett.

I majored in psychology.

Some (though certainly not all) of it seemed to be what many people would consider "common sense" backed up by experiments which have varied scientific validity.

Personally, at the time I found Neuroscience to be the most interesting subject. I use some social and developmental psychology in my current work (in English Lit).
