My throat hurts. My eyes itch. My body feels weak. My back is bothering me again. It hurts to swallow. It hurts to tighten my muscles.

Its hard to stay positive.

I'm feeling a little better except my nose is really congested. I actually played the past two days ago.

I have to go to the bus depot today to buy tickets for new york city. I'm not really stoked for the jam but it will be nice to chill with jorden again. We don't get a shitload of time to chill. I really like the nyc guys too.

I went through some girl shit this weekend and I realized a few key things that I really shouldn't forget. I realized if your not happy without a girl you won't be happy with one. And I'm not really happy solo, so I should quit looking and focus on myself. I don't know why I'm not stoked on life, but I know I'm not really super happy. But it's a work in progress.

Off to english.

It's a matter of time and patience.

November 15, 2007

Wow. I can’t believe I just wrote/typed that date. It’s really late in the month already, I feel like yesterday I was thinking about Halloween and painting my pumpkin in the dining hall. That’s really nuts.

I can’t believe I've been to two tournaments in such a short span of time it’s really crazy. Its nuts I’ve played with moir twice in the past 2 weeks, I never get to say that. It’s crazy that I had awesome starts in classes and may have jeopardized some of them. But I'm alright, just b averages and shit.

I just can’t believe how fast things go. Like, I was debating going to NYJ and then I realized I better buy tickets like, right now if I want to go. I’m almost tempted to just stay in Bethlehem this break and relax and let the stress come out of me. I don’t know why I feel stressed, but I do. I take these weird like 4 hour naps during the day and I’ve heard that’s a sign of depression, but I don’t think that’s true. I’m not sure, I should research that?

Girls are weird. I’ll leave it at that. One day when I figure out the puzzle I’ll write a book or at least a long blog entry and try to shred what I think.

I wrote poetry under a tree the other day. There is this little area by one of my classes that is really quiet and chill, not busy at all. You can sit on these benches, and yesterday was just so warm and stuff that I sat down with a notebook and did the thing. If I had my laptop it wouldn’t have been the same at all. I really liked sitting there, because I had just been in New York City the whole weekend, and I really don’t like the city. Mainly that is because I don’t know it at all and I feel like I followed Barrett around the whole time and was just like a lost little cat or something. I like to know where I’m going, and it’s almost impossible in the city. Jorden and I almost got really lost one time. I’m glad that wasn’t a mistake I made alone. Anyway, here is one of the poems I wrote under the tree I liked. It is about the aforementioned idea. It does not have a title.

I cannot return to the city,
I have decided.
No longer will I live in the concrete jungle,
A world of speed and selfishness.
It is loud, dirty, full.

I have seen the untouched forest,
The knee high grass,
And now I cannot go back.

I cannot breathe the smog,
Smell the smoke,
Feel the stiff metal enclosing me.

I wish to stay under autumn light,
Beneath the leaves that fall like pieces of sky.
I cannot return to the city,
I have decided.

Basically sums up how I felt yesterday. I think it’s alright. I really don’t know anything about poetry form, but part of my creative writing class is to write things like that. I have to make 5 poems for an assignment in a few weeks; I think that might be one of them. I’m not sure. I really don’t like poetry because it’s so hard to judge it, and I hate how it’s supposed to be unclear. Like, I don’t like sitting around trying to find the 4th layer of meaning behind “snowy sheepâ€

Dude trust me, once you get a girl you'll want to play footbag just to get away from her. Even then she'll be all like "David, don't hurt your back again!", or "Dave, if you roll your ankle I'm not letting you play for three weeks!!!". Then you'll go...shiiiiiit.... Then you'll actively try to hide your sweaty shorts and make sure she doesn't discover you played behind her back when you weren't supposed to. I hope you get that day soon, I really do. :)

Dont bother about your poems Dave, i mean they are how you write them.Once maybe you'll like the idea and get the flow of making them more mystic and stuff.

My neighbor told me a joke the other day. Disclaimer: It's not very PC, so no one get offended. It's just a joke, and it's not even my joke, so no flames are honored at this time. Btw, I'm horrible at telling jokes, so please pretend someone that's good at telling jokes does a better job at this

"A guy is stuck in a horrible traffic jam for the umpteenth time when [insert all powerful being.. god, genie in a bottle, whatever you want] comes to him and says:

'Hey guy, you've led a good life and you deserve some reward in return. I can grant you whatever your heart desires.'

The guy thinks it over, and given his current problem says 'I want you to build me my own personal highway that goes everywhere I'll ever need to go. Only I can use it, and there are no speed limits or traffic jams'.

All powerful being replies 'Well, I can work miracles, but even that is a bit out of line. I mean, the amount of chaos I'll cause the rest of the country in the process of weaving a new highways across the entire country will be nuts. I need you to pick something else...'

So, the guy thinks if over for a minute. A light bulb goes off above his head. 'I know! I want you to give me the insight to understand women!'

All powerful being replies: 'Will that highway be 2 lanes or 4?'"

I'm happy to see a long, in-depth personal entry again. That's when your blog is at its best.

The City can be intimidating at first, that's for sure. But you know what, so can freestyle footbag. In sports in general, I like being able to do what I intended: whether that be hitting a three pointer, getting a smash in pingpong, or bowling a strike. When I first saw freestyle footbag I wanted to hit eclipse and torque, and it took me a looooong time before I could, and then even longer before they became consistent. Much like freestyle footbag, NYC isn't very beginner-friendly. But also similar to footbag, once you put in the time to understand it and get good at it, the payoffs are amazing. Spend a summer there and get a feel for getting around, and you'll definitely agree with me.

And Bob, I liked your joke. :)

Hey Dave,

It sucks that you and JM were lost for a bit. NYC is a pretty intimidating place, but Ken is right about it getting a lot easier and different if you spend a larger period of time there. I wouldn't argue that it's a great place to live, having grown up there, but I will say that it's very different when you A) live there for a bit or B) have a guide.

It must be hard for you to enjoy this sport the same way a newbie does. Usually a newbie can relish the opportunity of doing something purely out of light-hearted interest and enthusiasm whereas you have taken on a role of master.

Grass is always greener?

It was a blast seeing you again, hope we catch up again soon.

A really good day surprisingly, because last night sucked.

I woke up at 1:30, which is cool, when you wake up because your body wants to not because some alarm clock tells you its time. I really dread the future when I will have to wake up at 7 and shit.

I went downstairs, crossed my fingers as I turned on the computer. I got a virus last night and I was really freaked that this morning would bring the blue screen of death or something. I backed up all my data last night which led to me watching some old school footbag videos. Shit man, some memories. It made me really nostalgic for when I started footbag. I really miss the days when EVERYONE was better than me and I had so many footbag idols. Like man, I bounced back to the first time I met people like ellis and vasek, these people were gods to me. Now its so different. I can’t even imagine that kids view me now how I viewed ellis. On one hand that’s cool and on one its weird as shit.
So I had some breakfast (special k starring red berries) and sat online for a little bit. This brought me up to about 2:00, and I called Toolan to kick but he didn’t pick up his phone. It is weird that I felt the urge to play because last night I hated footbag for a few hours. But I had the drive, and I ended up going to the gym and playing by myself for like 3 hours, which I haven’t done in AGES, like, before I got injured. I just never had that desire but today I really wanted to skool shit, and it worked out really well. I hit a lot of neat stuff and I felt happy when I went in the hot tub at the gym, which was a good reward for all the hard work I put in today. Its weird I just called shred work, but it felt good to work through all these old drills I didn’t think I could do anymore.

I’ve been experimenting with new bags lately a lot. I like stitching on weird templates I’m not good on.

My parents fight a lot.

I have way too many hack shoes. I should get rid of some but they all have their memories in them. I realized today my g-units are like 3 years old. That’s so nuts. They’ve been there through so many titles and tournaments its crazy. Seen so many streets, been from coast to coast. Crazy how you bond with your shoes. They might rival my worlds 04 shoes for most priceless (which doesn’t make sense).

I really missed my cat. Frikken Smudge, he’s so cute.

I’m going to Barnes and Nobles. Peace.

Dude you're great at footbag, but thats not the limit.I dont mean the difficulty, but try maybe doing routines? Going creative, something extrodaniary, make it a dance ;).

My parents fight alot too.

edit: forgot to say, if you have a pair of g'6 for sale id buy them.I think we are the same size.

we are so bound to shoes because they soak in all the memories throu your sweat, and when you look at them some "shoe fairy" gets out a good memory or two. and then you feel good and keep the shoe. thats how i feel sometimes when i look at my old destroyed shoes every female coming into my appartment wants to throw away. :) thats how shoes save themself from ending in the garbage :)

and for your girl troubles i have a nice line my grandfather allways told me: look and you wont find, the good things come to you and hide when you search for them.
this means, dont search, you will never find your dreamgirl that way, you will just know its her when you meet her. ;)
come get your mÃcrÖ¶ bag today
buy one of my bags and help finance my guitar lessons :)
