What filler do you use

I won't divulge the contents of my filler openly (in tournaments, if you ask nicely; totally), but here are my thoughts on filler:

-Seed beads: Good and bad. With steel: murder. With lead: alright. Seed beads shattering in itty bitty pieces can kill bags. Reserve for only strong facile colors (color choices that you are confident in knowing that they won't bust holes too quickly).
-Lead: It's alright. It has its applications. I have a nephew and niece that are just kids, and I have a dog. I don't want them exposed to lead, so I don't use it much. I think of it as a "soft" filler. Good with seed beads. Kind of sucks for everything else. Plastic pellets is a maybe if you make the ratio good.
-Steel: I use it all the time. Zinc-plated steel shot is the most versatile you can have. However, it can easily rust if: 1)you sweat on your bag alot with this filler and never wash it and 2) you wash it but don't properly dry it. That's why people don't like using it. This is a "hard" filler. With seed beads, it will murder bags because of the density of the metal. With plastic pellets, the bag may seem a bit too full for a golf-ball sized 32. Everything else (like unique fills) make it super nice.
-Tungsten/bismuth: This fill is highly sought after. I don't need to talk about it. It's super dense, so I don't recommend seed beads with it, like steel shot. I think through washes and whatever, it can make your bags really dirty. It's non-toxic, so no worries. (That means you, Erik Chan. )
-Planet footbag steel shot: I think this type of steel shot is the most versatile "support fill" in the market. It will work great with all types of filler. It also doesn't rust, so that's bonus. I really want to get more, maybe like 8 pounds of this stuff. If Freedom is selling, I'm buying. Yeyeah.

edit: Btw, when will freedom have the planetfootbag fill in stock? I ask this because I have Alex Trenner on hold for a potential order I have at the moment, and I don't want to keep him waiting. Plus, I'll save on shipping if this is so, because I only want to buy this filler and a t-shirt from the pf shop.

Yeah I like the feel of a lead bag, but I hate that it is toxic. Im always playing with a bag in my hand. I love the tungsten, but am not willing to shell out all that money for it at the moment. I myself have never used steel shot, But most of my bags are mini size and if I filled it to the same ratio as when I do lead, the bag would be too light.
God, they should make like perfect fill. Im going to start my own website. Perfect footbag fill, and it will be metal from metors that have the weight of tungsten and lead, the softness of lead, are non toxic, and also float.

i just made a bag for kyle with poly pellets (didnt tell him which one....). i really wanted to keep that one.

i think the next bag i make for myself will be poly pellets... not pf style, like doll stuffing.... its like a fat cheeto, only tiny.

Yeah, I often find bags without poly pellets end up too sloppy and empty once they've broken in some. I also find that especially with steel bags, they help with a bag's longevity.

:( no floating bags, oh well. Maybe 25 or 30 years from now. I personally love poly pellets, they help the bag kick easier as well as helping longevity. Both my new bags are lead only, but im thinking ot throwing a few polys in there to help the fill.

I used lead balls which were the size of a grain of a sand and its very heavy But in that season there's no such lead...I want to ask is sand good for a 32-panel bag!

I called every flamin gun shop from here to the moon and no one has steel. Too popular and sold out everywhere for duck hunting and any water hunting because hunters aren't allowed to shoot lead into water.

I caved and bought some highly LETHAL lead shot size 8. People in this thread have been saying that their lead is much smoother feeling that steel. WHAT THE HECK? My steel (Mosher's and Peng's that I got from bleeding their and my dead bags) is like shiny and smooth where as this lead I just got is grimy and charcoaly.

I'm confused.

I meant smoother while in a bag. So how it feels within a bag. IMO lead has a smoother feeling in a bag rather than steel.

I use tungsten and some other stuff. I think Abshire and I are the only ones who use tungsten in every bag.

I still use poly in some of my bags. Just not all the time. Just for bags that are larger than golfball size and whatever.

Lately, I just feel that using seed beads is detrimental in some way, so I've used alternative types of filler to substitute it.
