Brian, I really don't get why you're taking this the way you are, it really gets nobody anywhere except you frustrated.

His comment had nothing to do with anything you were doing wrong, it was mostly referring to the fact that Steve Goldberg would want people to be aiming this passion at the currently existing wiki setup on .org.

If you come to NYJ you'll slap your forehead and say 'AWWW I was such an ass, these people are great!' and you'll be all stoked again.

There's really no reason for any of us to go around attacking.

This is a project that SHOULD be completed, not fought over.

The .org wiki doesn't have anything in it because nobody has stepped up to do it. And the latest person to show any interest just blew up and decided that everyone hates him even though nobody does.

Steve isn't even involved in this thread so how can I be hurting his feelings? Based my first posts, I was in a happy optimistic mood before this. Whether or not a tricklist is useful to people who have been playing 4+ years is irrelevant to me. The fact remains that footbag.orgs list is a joke, their wiki list doesnt even have any entries, and the list here hasn't been changed in years as well. This leads me to believe that either the sport isn't progressing, or people are being lazy.

So don't be lazy and update the .org list yourself. People are actions, if you have a problem with something, complaining about won't solve that problem.

Oops, I forgot brad was moving after he graduates, in december. So I'll officially be the only player in IC. I can taste the sweet isolation already.

In terms of the NYJ, things are looking grim. I played today and can only play 30 minutes before it hurts too much. Plus I'm rusty as all hell. So dedicating 3 days, let alone a day, let alone an afternoon, to footbag just ain't gonna happen.

But, if I'm healed up - does anyone in davenport play anymore? Theres nobody in the memberlist from there...lol

Wow dude, that must suck for you.

The first 18 months I played footbag, I never saw another freestyle footbagger.

For the last 3 years I've played about 95% by myself.

How often do have I complained about that?

I don't see it as a negative, I see the fact that I keep playing and that my game is still improving after playing for 6 years as a sign of my strength of mind and willpower. Sure it would be great if I had lots of people to play with, but I take as many positives as I can out of being a lone player. What good does complaining do, apart from make you feel bad?

In terms of playing alone, I've had both situations. Lots of by myself shred, and lots of playing with other advanced players on a regular basis. I have to say that I improve more quickly when I play by myself with some once-in-awhile with someone else mixed in. I guess it's because when I play solo I work on weaknesses, whereas when I play with others, I play my strengths for the most part.

Also, I've come to really like solo play. It's like a bike ride for me. Time when I'm by myself and focused on something not stressful and have time to let everything else go for a little while.

But I can appreciate your interest in playing with others sometimes too.

Seems like you have taken issue with my post. I'm sorry to have offended you.

But if you just knew how insignificant your very cool trick list contribution was in comparison to the thousands of hours Steve has put into .org, and the hundreds of footbag events he's donated money to, and the tens of players he has sponsored overseas, and the countless worldwide media footbag deals he has initiated, and the hundreds of events he's backed, and the list goes on.

You got upset over my statements about another person! Seriously though, if he were to read this thread, he would laugh out loud at you, curse Modified (a community primarily made up social misfits who need to get their jollies by posting messages to each other over the internet), and then get pissed that NEWBs like you who don't know anything about the sport feel that they have the right to make statements such as you did about .org.

Seriously, I urge you to learn just a *little* about footbag culture before you write it off and go bashing people you don't even know.

Again, I'm truly sorry If I offended you with my *first* post. This one was intentionally rude, and the other was wasn't. More of a social commentary about how today's players know nothing about footbag except what they learn on this site. THIS SITE IS NOT FOOTBAG.

By the way, if you do decide to go to NYJ, you'll get to meet me

The event is worth your time, even if you are injured. I know plenty of injured or non-shredders who attend each year because it is the people who make the event worth it.
