I just wanted to mention something that I was supposed to post a month back, or rather from my trip back from Worlds: I will be raising the price on my bags $5 more than the original price after New Year's Eve of this year. I think this is something necessary to me, since I believe I put in a lot of preparation in thinking of cool and functional designs on bags, and have experimented on bag filler to the point that I really enjoy the combinations I put into each bag I make - in which they are functional and helpful for bags in their break-in and freestyling career. I hope the people that have received my bags enjoyed them, and find that my price increase is acceptable, and albeit, reasonable.

Also, I don't fancy stitching like I used to in the past, having a bad arm and such, and would like to concentrate more of my efforts on college and playing more footbag. So if you think about it, the more consistant stitcher that would pump out 4-5 bags a week at $25-$30 would be making more money than I, who likes to take his sweet ass time making a good bag for the person interested for a measly $35. This is also fitting since I do plenty of custom designs only on bags, and not really touch on the usual soccerball design on a 32.

I don't believe my 12 panels will increase in price. I've decided that I will be selling my $12 panels at $20. If I told people that I sell my 12s at $25, my mistake. I was still debating what a good price was to have for a 12 panel. Also, it is in my earnest opinion, with the way that I stitch, that making a 12 panel is significantly much harder than making a usual 32 panel, therefore the price increase. Just... don't pile a lot of orders for 12s on me.

Here is the updated price listing (shipping is included):
$38 US/Canada
$40 Everywhere else
$35 in person
*$30 if you are a member of NYFA (that is, you occasionally/actively partake and play in our group sessions)

Also, I don't frequently use seed beads in my bags these days. I find, or have found on more than one occasion, that they are detrimental to a bag's longevity. I will only use seed beads on bags that I am confident the fabric can withstand against, but this does not mean my filler will change much. In fact, I have updated my filler to be more functional and safer to have on my bags, for both 12s and 32s.

edit: I also have a bad back from stitching so much, to add to my bad arm, because I usually slouch a little as I stitch. Don't take this as myself adding more pity to the injury that I'm mentioning; truthfully, my message is clear in that I do want to play more footbag than to stitch footbags in general. I think this is a pretty reasonable philosophy on my part.

From all of this, I've gathered, in total, that I'll be sewing 15 footbags for all of these people. All paid orders that are listed here will be based on the $30 criteria, and will not be affected by the $5 increase pass New Years. I'm not going into the specifics on these orders because it'll be too much to talk about. I have everything listed already inside my stitcher's logbook, so I'm just posting this to show who's in my agenda for sewing footbags.

The bag you made me has hit a wonderful point in breaking-in. It's super playable and remarkably durable. Charge more (imo).

Marmalade, Country Cream, Sable, Sandy, Petit Pois, Admiral, Punch. Extra tight gather along with messing around with the bleedhole stitches made my normal 32 template into a super small mini. 52.5 grams steel mix.

This bag is up for grabs. Two or three pentagons look a bit messed up, so I'm planning on putting a major discount on it since this bag isn't on par with my usual stitching. It's a very round and sharp bag, though it's just not sewn very clean imo. $28. This is subtracting $7 from my 2008 price of $35.

Those listed in bold are what I must do IMMEDIATELY. All other current, player orders will be temporarily frozen for the time being. My apologies to Andrew, Sergey, JSACK, Julien and Richard, but these orders are important, especially Lotus'. His order must be done asap, and must reach his hands by the end of March. The same goes for Ken Somolinos and the prize bag for "Shred for Savvy" as I will be in Washington, DC by the 21st of March. The bag orders that I must do for them are extremely important, not only for them but for myself as well (well, I know you're humble about the bag I'm making you, Ken, but "Shred for Savvy" seems like a good place to give you that 32 I promised).

Again, my apologies for freezing on orders (not that I'm already tardy as is for all of my orders). Especially to Andrew, as I agreed that we would do a trade sometime this week or last week, I think, even though I have half of the 32 I was to give you completed as we speak.

This update is just so VERY abrupt. I just wanted to give a fair warning to everyone as soon as I got the word of how important Lotus' order was.

It's no problem, Lotus. In fact, I'm in awe as to how beautiful the pictures you take of footbags are. Excellent lighting, excellent settings.

Player orders are back online, but my right shoulder, or my stitching arm, is having some slight yet sharp pains (especially in the frontal region of my tricep). I have begun stitching some bags, but not at the rate in which I pumped out bags for Lotus or bags for Shred for Savvy. There may also be a hidden order that I might have to accomplish, but it's pretty much tentative to my current situation. I'm currently planning my trip to D.C. at the moment.

Also, I'm very behind on my college studies, so I have to keep up. And some of my classes involve computers, so alone time with the needle and facile would have to wait.

These are the remaining orders I have to fill out. Orders in bold are what I'm working on at the moment.

I'm also having a difficult time on what I'm about to do/post right at the moment. I feel I should quit footbag stitching because of my debilitating right arm/shoulder. The pain is too much, the stress is too much. I also think that stitching is interfering with my footbag performance. So... I don't think I want to stitch for the public anymore, but for private occasions/trades/gifts/prizes for events. Clearly I'm not making any financial gain with footbag stitching - it's just for kicks (mind the pun) and for people who are in need (and appreciate) my footbags.

So, I'm going to issue an announcement in my topic to the public: place any orders you have to me within the next month if you want a bag from me. Otherwise, all bags I make after the end of April will be for NYFA only, for private trades that I will agree to, as a gift to personal friends, or as a prize for an event. This is what I believe in, and I'm sticking to it.

I may sew footbags to sell in tournaments, but this based solely on a whim.

Again, you guys (modified or guests who frequent modified) have until the end of April to place an official order to get a Wasabi bag of any variety. Just give me the details and I'll jot them down on my stitching journal. After the end of April, I will NOT be accepting any more custom orders or footbag orders in general. This is final.

I just wanted to throw in my endorsement. I think Waylon makes some of the best bags out there, so I highly encourage anybody who's on the fence to just buy one while you still have a chance.

I am really sad to hear that you are going to stop publicly stitching. Your bags are amazing in all aspects and would be the perfect embassador to what a good footbag should be.

GRASS is coming up, so I'm going on a stitching frenzy to see if I can pump in a few bags for sale at this tournament. If people can give me a few faint details on what they want in a bag that they might want to buy off of me, that would be greatly appreciated. A few good ideas would be specific colors or filler type.

I know I mentioned that I will have 5 bags up for sale at GRASS somewhere, but like all plans this could be compromised. I plan on making 2 minis, though, and I guess maybe 3 standard. The 6th is obviously the prize bag of course. As a safety precaution, though, 3-4 bags is a likely possibility (next week is exam week for me).

Really, it's just patterns and filler that are puzzling me. Some footbaggers are just hardcore soccerball-pattern lovers, and there are some that are just crazy over crazy designs. I fit into the latter, but I can compromise this. Whatever.

Just to clarify: I will be stitching privately at my own pace. Trades are welcome, even to newbie stitchers (though all trades will be under my own discretion). Though I do want to officially retire the needle, I've been given a small stroke of stitching inspiration when I've found out that Richard Abshire is still sewing after 15 long years or more. I should at least exceed that amount of years before officially retiring.

I'm sorry everyone. I know everyone is waiting on their orders from me, but I've sort of taken a small break during the last week of April, and have taken a break from stitching since. I had weird pains on both my arms, especially my right, so the idea of footbag stitching just felt exhausting to me.

I have patterns written down for everyone, so the wait wasn't for naught. However, my college is pushing me to cram really hard during the last few weeks of college, so there will be delays reaching until mid-My.

Sorry about the wait. I really want to complete whatever orders I have for anyone, but my education is top priority at the moment. I'm also trying to find work, so stitching could be compromised in a way (even though it would be part-time work).

Anyway, this is just a small update on this topic.

edit: Tom Mosher enlightened me on his stitching style. I sort of understand a way to do it, I think, and it would ease a lot of complications and work I have currently with my present stitching method. Playability and break-in won't be compromised; enhanced maybe. It would certainly make my stitching look a little more even to me, I believe.

All props go to Tom on our talks of stitching theory at GRASS this year.

edit2: Tom's stitching method is really keen and effective, but after several tries with several combination of my template sizes, I don't think it matches well with my style of stitching. I mean, practice makes perfect of course, but I guess I can reserve time for this after I'm done with all of these orders.

Nothing will be changed or altered about my style of stitching.
