As far as net, the past couple years there hasnt been any net, but its always an option. All we need is a net or 3 and some players. I think the concrete or carpet is hard to play net on.
Competitions are purely dependent on players. In the past there have been times where there werent many open competitors, but if theres enough people who want to compete in any given discipline then there will be competitions. Last year a few people were confused that there was no comp even though they traveled very far to compete.

No net events have been scheduled by CIC. I think Scott posted something about it. I'll talk to him.

Jay7. Everyone has always been picked up from the airport, but your arrival time will be right in the middle of the main event for the day.
Worst case scenario, there is a train within the airport that will take you to us for 2 dollars.

There is no suite so far. They are "sold out," but I'll try a few more times to see if something opens, and that it's not 800 bucks a night. You may want to take this opportunity to book a room. Mention "Holiday Sports festival" and it's like $86 a night. We've fit 8 people max one year. Maybe 6 or 7 is more comfortable.

Probably not.

Not that everything is finalized right now, there still needs to be more discussions about events, but I'm pretty sure there will not be routines.

Contrary to what Jon posted above, we're not running the events/comps by making up which ones we'll do as we go along. We hope to have a schedule for everybody soon.

Didn't Scott have a pic from a few years ago with a caption of "The Day Net Died in Chicago" or something like that? It didn't seem like he wanted anything to do with setting up net again because he went to a lot of trouble gettingnice flooring and a place for them to play but no one showed. I might be remembering wrong.

You are remembering correctly.

Scott has listed Net demos in this year's .org event listing, but that could just be a remnant from a post from several years ago.

There will definitely not be an official net event. But there is more interest in net here now, so once Scott let's me know if we have space for it, I'll leave it in Zeke or Jake's hands to bring a net and we'll call the locals.

Preliminary event schedule is:
day 1: circle
day 2: 4 square
day 3: sick 1/3 and rippin run
night time: combo generator! 4 square prelims

There are NO routines at all.
Intermediate circle comp is a maybe leaning towards no.
Intermediate sick 1 and 3, so start practicing

we just reserved our room for the nights of:

dec. 28th, 29th, and 30th

we will be arriving in chicago on the 27th, stay the night at la raza, and go to the event on the 28th.

people in our room:
me
brian
mosher
pengpeng
matt cross

turns out if you say you have 4 people, its 126 a night... but if you say 2 people, its 86 a night. we decided to say 2 people, since we did this last year and its 40 bucks cheaper. you can also choose to have breakfast, which is a little extra. i thought i would just let ya'll know the options they gave me.

for anyone booking a room:
they ask you for a credit card. they do NOT charge you when you reserve the room. you will only be charged when you're there. they just ask for a credit card number for security (in case you show up then bail without paying). also, if you chose to cancel your reservation, you can do so up to a week before your stay. if its within 7 days of your visit, there is a charge.

I have a room for the 28th-31st, but I need a place to stay on the 27th.

Anyone want to let me cuddle up? I'll pitch in if necessary.

I'm split between going skiing in Colorado and going to NYJ. My sister doesn't want me going to a "hacky sack show." Which isn't a great thing because her fiance is has this huge masculine-bound ego and only thinks about skiing and scuba diving and computers, and will probably never let me live that down. He says I'm crazy. I'm trying to work something out with them right now. I mean, I want to go see my sister whom I never see anymore and ski in Colorado, a state with powder-white mountains yet to be touched with my glorious RossignolTM CVT model racing skiis that got passed down to me from God herself. IF I go to NYJ, it's probably only going to be for a day :( That is, IF.

So manly!

GMoney, you have 2 fun options, so it won't be bad either way.
