I wikipedia anything that I think is true, but I'm not sure of. I spend a lot of time reading books and internet articles and essays though. I read every article posted on these two sites; www.edge.org, http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/ (as well as others) Anything I post is something I already knew, or thought I knew prior to that point.
If I did wikipedia everything, I wouldn't have claimed that guacamole wasn't a condiment, since one only needs to follow the first links from guacamole to see that it is (the page begins with "guacamole is a dip or a relish" - dip and relish are both linked a clicking on them shows that they're both condiments - fatal blow). "Fuku Yourmama" actually pointed that out to me.

I stitched a new hacky. It's okay, but I'm not ecstatically happy with it. I've also traced panels for 3 more bags, so I'm hoping these will turn out better. I have 5 planned -- if they all turn out exactly how I want them to, then I think I will start asking if people want to trade with me.
I've just inquired about working as a clerk with the public libraries (EXCITING!!). Looking for work has been my bane for the past... 5 months? >_____< Basically I haven't looked, but it's been nonetheless stressful just thinking about it! I REALLY want to work in a library. I think it's my dream job. A couple of nights ago I spent, like, 6 hours of so organizing files on my computer, and burning backup DVDs, and organizing DVDs and cateloging (how the heck do you spell that? It's telling me it's wrong...) all of my STUFF. Man alive that was fun!! So I am going to be picky and try to get a clerical job in a library. I guess if I don't, my only worry is being able to buy Christmas presents for people that are important to me, because a big plus of STILL not having a job by Christmas would be that I can spend more time with Marita when she comes to visit. I don't want to have to go away to work every day when she comes, and I don't really see getting a bunch of time off after just getting a job. Blech.
Anyway, I also worked on a drawing I'm doing, and I think I will finish it in another sit down or two, and it's nothing spectacular, but it's different, and a surprise for someone.
I'm also going to work on capturing some footage from both Hackrifice Winter project, and Manna Christmas Calendar Special.
And I went to Michaels and picked up some stuff. I love Michaels!! There is so much random STUFF! I went to get poly pellets. I also wanted to get some empty little bottles and some more india ink for something I am going to try, where I'm going to dilute ink to make some pre-mixed tones for ink washes. Should be fun. I got some fancy little glass bottles, which is all I could really find (I'm sure there was something even better, but that place is overwhelming. When I bought my scissors, I looked in, like, three different scissors sections!) I also got some little baggies for hacks, which I'm excited about
I'm running short on moneys. I had a bunch when I was on vacation, but then forgot that I pay my parents rent, so there went $900 real fast. I bought some comics on an impulse the other day. They should be here on Friday. I'm REALLY excited. I got, like, 5 books, and I've been excited for them all!! Let's see:

Star Wars: Underworld: The Yavin Vassilika (Carlos Meglia) -- I've never seen interior art, so I'm hoping it's actually Meglia. I looked it up and it said he is the only artist, so here's hoping. I just saw Star Wars and Carlos Meglia...and together I am happy.
Appleseed Hypernotes (Masamune Shirow) -- I want everything Shirow. I have been looking for Black Magic for a loooong time. I think I have it on backorder/preorder on multiple websites... now that's a rare book... I've never really sought his Intron Depot books for some reason though. I like his black and white stuff best -- I didn't really like GITS2 too much.
Empowered Volume 2 (Adam Warren) -- main purpose for this order. I'm excited.
Uno Tarino (Ashley Wood's newest art book) -- I was really excited to see that he has a new book! Hopefully all new stuff...
I went on this 3 AM bike ride the other night. It was really cold and there was ice everywhere, but I thoroughly appreciated the fresh air, the exercise, and the lack of people EVERYWHERE. It was so nice. I just wandered on my bike. It got unbearably cold after about an hour, but for that time, it was really enjoyable. I listened to the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack, which has been one of my favourite things to listen to over and over lately (especially while reading medieval fantasy, since there are no lyrics to distract me). I went and laid down on this stack of railroad ties in this pitch-black train yard and stared at the stars for a while. That was really nice. I love it when there is nobody around anywhere. I feel so comfortable. I went searching for a donut around 4 AM, on my way back, and nothing was open except for 7-11. I asked the cashier guy a question and I realized how unnatural it felt to speak. A lot of the time I just wish speaking wasn't necessary.
Oh yeah, and my MRI appointment isn't until January 1, so, like... no footbag until at least then. I guess that gives me a good while for my legs to rest up.
EDIT: Ordered more comics. My wallet wants to smack me in the face. It couldn't be helped. It was another bunch of books that I've really wanted. It started with seeing the new Hellboy collection on my Amazon recommendations -- "The new one's out already??" Man. And then Amazon's "free shipping" deal always coerces me into buying more to save on shipping
So I ended up getting a couple more books, and then it didn't give me the option for the free shipping, and it was, like, "You need to spend $2 more..." -- I always get caught like this. I'm such a sucker. So here are the new books I ordered (which I'm very excited about):

Hellboy Volume 7: The Troll Witch and Other Stories (Mike Mignola)

Well, it was a good and bad day today. Mostly it was good.
The bad is pretty much summed up in that I think my camcorder is toast. And that sucks.
Manna was on fire today. Man alive.
He hit a handful of new 5s: flip phoenix (more than once? -- footed about a million times anyway), ripped warrior (footed the other side a ton), and stepping dada curve (trying to tombstone, which he was close to a lot). He also had, like, REALLY long runs. He put to shame last week's session, for sure. Like, he had a LOT of runs that were over 20, some were over 30, I'm sure. Geez Louise. Flip blurry whirl was there a lot too.
Andrew was also playing really well. Like always I forget most of his highlights :p Let's see: whirlygig > blurriest. Was trying janiwalker swirl (Tsunami?) Geez, I always forget. Oh, a cool run with ripped warrior and spikehammer both BSOS. I got some good footage of Andrew. (Too bad my bloody camcorder died and I have nothing to capture from now... I'll see if I can fool around with it.)
Jess came out too.
Her runs are kind of short, and I think it could be beneficial to do more 2s and less 3s and 4s for her. I hope she comes out more though. I fooled around a bit and played a couple games of 2-square with Manna, and somehow just from that my hip is really tight. Sucky.
Anyway.
So yeah.
I'm always really happily surprised when I'm reminded from experience how much kids love me. I think it might be because I'm honest and don't baby-talk, kinda. Like lots of adults talk down to kids, but I don't really know how, unless they're like, super young, or I'm supposed to be caring for them and they're really bratty. In general kids adore me, and it's so cool. Little kids I meet only once often, like, ask when they will see me again and stuff.

A hack I started this morning. I'm sooo stoked on the colours! CUTE! I'm really happy. It's gonna play super well too. I'm also stoked on the next two bags that I've traced. (Oh, it looks kinda crap in the photo, but it will be nice once filled.)
The comics I got the other day. I was stressing, 'cause they were sent to a house down the street instead, and they were late, and so I checked the tracking info and it said they were delivered, and I freaked.
Oh, and I posted this one in the new footbag stitching thread:
It's nice but thick hexes. People were trying to tell me that it would be more playable if the thick colour was used on the pents, and I guess I kinda took offense, because I know that, and I think my pissyness came through in my reply, but that's silly. I should have been more thankful that they were trying to help out. I always try to look smarter than, like, other people, and I wish I didn't

I also have a wicked song I want to use on Andrew's section for my eventual Hackrifice winter video, but that may not happen for some time, without a camcorder of my own. Maybe I will get to borrow Andrew's once he has finished some videos that he was planning to make over Christmas, or something.

last night was so much fun. i haven't had that must fun kicking in quite a while. i guess i wasn't getting upset about not hitting stuff, because i expected i would be rusty so none of it really mattered. I'm glad you thought i was playing well, but i felt like i was playing really crappy. it took me forever to get my legs back, but i did hit a bunch of new combos, and it was awesome to see manna busting so huge. i just want him to stop hitting ss mirage on that one side allll the time. haha. lemme know about your camera and if we can get those move demos done.

Yeah. Man, I think I wrote about a bike ride that I went on in an earlier post. It was at, like, 3 in the morning, half-way through watching the movie. I put the SOTC soundtrack on and went on an adventure, wishing I had a little scooter to fly around on!

I can't stitch footbags (repetative motion syndrome? arthritis?? (ie: as if not being able to play is not enough, my fingers hurt 24/7))
I can't make footbag videos (My camcorder died...)

So, a "half-finished" hack is called a "turtle", 'cause it looks like a turtle. Add two more pents side-by-side and it's a "fuchikoma"!! A robot from the original Ghost in the Shell manga! (I think they were left out of the anime, as integral as they were...)

It makes me so sad to hear about you falling apart Erik. I wish a magic pill existed to make you all better. You're so young, yet your body is wrecked with aches and pains.
Low-impact activities and strength train and eat really really well while you're on this break from footbag. Get well soon!
Oh and LOLed about the fuchikoma, although I think it looks more like a type 1 tachikoma since the extra feet on type 2 don't translate onto the footbag shape. The fuchikoma has the really wide pod in the back. The tachikoma has a more streamlined pod.

So, my hands felt significantly better a few days ago, so I stitched a bunch. I JUST finished a handful that I had going. I'll ship them out on Monday, and prolly start my sales tomorrow (and prolly ship at least one out on Monday too). So yeah. As soon as my hand felt okay and I stitched a handful, I opened a "for sale" thread, selling 5 bags. I sold 2 immediately, and one just before I opened the thread (the reason that got me to think about opening a thread in the first place). So that's awesome. I'm really excited. I also have, like, a bunch of trades to make after that. I can't wait to have more bags!

Well my surprise package arrived. I'm super excited to hear how the bags are received. And how they play and last. That blue one is soooooo sick! I wanted to much to keep it myself. I've done a couple since. I think I've done 44? My very first sale went out to a guy named Julian in Hessen, Germany. I've got two bags over half-finished for Pengpeng and one for Guydro from Florida. I will finish those tonight I think. Then I'm sending out a bag I messed up on (trying to do Peng's) for an uber discount to this other guy, for, like, $12. Then I have 2 bags that Dat ordered, but my fingers bloody hurt like hell, so I'm gonna take a couple days before that.
Then I have about 7-ish trades to do, which I will prolly take a couple days before too. Oh the pain!
I think I will retire from stitching after that. Hahaha.

So I watched most of "Bend it Like Beckham" for this first time a bit ago. It wasn't particularly amazing, but movies like this really fuel my passion for the hacky. Here are three movies that I cannot recommend enough:
Billy Elliot
Saint Ralph (Canadian movie)
Marathon (Korean movie)
The first one is more mainstream. It's about a boy in England in, like... the 50s or somewhere around there who loves ballet, but, like, that's for girls and shit, so he takes a lot of crap and has to try to cover it up and whatever (similar to Bend it Like Beckham, I guess) -- I think at one point his Dad finds him practicing in a gym, and he beats him, 'cause he's a "fairy" or some shit.
Saint Ralph is about a young boy who goes to Catholic school and his mother gets sick. And the teacher laughs and says, "Yeah. That would be a miracle." So basically he trains and is completely serious about winning the marathon to save his mother. So touching.
Marathon is very similar. It's also about running... the marathon, obviously. It's about a young autistic man who loves to run... I guess kind of harkening to Forest Gump, but not really.
The second two have INCREDIBLE cinematography and are just so beautiful. They're all really moving and I relate myself in terms of footbag. It makes me feel really great and realize how much footbag has done for me and how integral in my life it's become. Someone made a video recently, I think it was Sergey Kozlov's The Cage 2, and it said something over the video about how, "footbag is everything", or something.
Yeah, I dunno. I felt like writing paragraphs and paragraphs on how much I love footbag and how important it is to me and how it changed my life and everything, but I feel less inspired to now. I felt like some day I would like to write an autobiography about that. So... maybe eventually.

Oh yeah, so go watch those movies, 'cause they are inspiring, and uplifting, and they definitely make you cry in the most awesome way possible
Well my surprise package arrived. I'm super excited to hear how the bags are received. And how they play and last. That blue one is soooooo sick! I wanted to much to keep it myself. I've done a couple since. I think I've done 44? My very first sale went out to a guy named Julian in Hessen, Germany. I've got two bags over half-finished for Pengpeng and one for Guydro from Florida. I will finish those tonight I think. Then I'm sending out a bag I messed up on (trying to do Peng's) for an uber discount to this other guy, for, like, $12. Then I have 2 bags that Dat ordered, but my fingers bloody hurt like hell, so I'm gonna take a couple days before that.
Then I have about 7-ish trades to do, which I will prolly take a couple days before too. Oh the pain!
I think I will retire from stitching after that. Hahaha.

So I watched most of "Bend it Like Beckham" for this first time a bit ago. It wasn't particularly amazing, but movies like this really fuel my passion for the hacky. Here are three movies that I cannot recommend enough:
Billy Elliot
Saint Ralph (Canadian movie)
Marathon (Korean movie)
The first one is more mainstream. It's about a boy in England in, like... the 50s or somewhere around there who loves ballet, but, like, that's for girls and shit, so he takes a lot of crap and has to try to cover it up and whatever (similar to Bend it Like Beckham, I guess) -- I think at one point his Dad finds him practicing in a gym, and he beats him, 'cause he's a "fairy" or some shit.
