Attack the dex sooner/faster.Like on dimmiest, plant your pixie foot faster and that'll help get your other leg up and going faster.

Watch Dave Clavens do Double Downs (without sets). Or Jorden. Try and replicate their form. You'll see what we mean by attacking the first dex.

Don't watch Penske or Vasek because they have supahcrank, so they'll have different form.

They're coming along though! Woo!

Thanks zac, david was a good example, that helped.

anyway, todays session ending in some rather surprising results:

 DLO
 Nova
 PDX DLO
 Haze
 Smog
 Blurry Reverse Whirl>Infinity>DLO

it was so wierd. i had never really thought about DLO's then it just hit me and i was like, "i could probably do this". first thing i hit was nova and i noticed i was doing it symp and i laughed at myself. Smog was the hardest but i got it. i think for the first few i was trying to do it symp style and im actually pretty sure for haze i did stepping miraging symp legover. for some reason not planting seems easier. i'll video tape it tomorrow for hard evidence

I have similar advice that I give to Manna.
You should try to switch up your sides. In the video yours runs all basically look the same. You do bubba and illusions on that one side and lgeovers, and pickups on the other. You step on one side (except that one combo). And you reverse whirl on one side.

You should try to do runs where you illusion only on the other side, and pickup only on the other side, and reverse whirl on the other side, etc. Even out your game and school your flip everything. It would be really beneficial to your game's progression.

that's a funny "new tricks" list. Please tell me you got flip DLO too. Not raggin' too hard, mind you. It's just I mean you went so far as to hit haze and nova - might as well bs the cornerstone tricks, eh?

oh and :x is for saying nova is easy. That trick gives me so much trouble.

holly, nova is symp DLO

thanks for posting erik.

i have really been trying to do more flip rev whirls and flip stepping, you just dont see them on film because im drilling them, not string'ing' them, if that makes sense. just tonight i started trying to put flip stepping into my strings but still some kinks to fix. i have hit many b2b stepping links. as for pickups/legovers/illusions: i do those moves only on my strong side because thats what feels comfortable. flip pickups are much easier than flip legovers and i could probably put them in my strings(thanks for the reminder ;) ). flip leggies hmm, my ankle seems to go floppy when i do it and i have trouble keeping it rigid, same as flip DATW's. it doesnt mean i havnt drilled them and it doesnt mean i cant do them, it just means i dont feel the need to incorporate them in my strings. as for illusions, my flip is almost always 'the' i think i have had 1 good one. maybe it's because i still suck at flip mirages...don't tell! damnit im such a procrastinator. like 1 year 7 months procrastination! yikes! (where's the barfing emoticon?)

pat, i dont want to say i cant do flip DLO's although i didnt try. but my flip legover, like erik said, needs work.

i thought about you when i was hitting those tricks...and i was laughing.

man, imagine how much less work you'd have to put into making excuses if you'd just school flip!

ugh. I didn't comment on your video because I honestly can't think of too much to say, man. I enjoyed it! Can't wait till we can shred. I'm coming home next Friday (the 14th) later in the day. If you can play that weekend LESS DOO IT! . And then I can "comment" all you friggin want. I think it's pretty clear what you need to be working on when you shred after all these comments from Erik, Henry, etc. -

oh but now that I think of it, there is one thing I could say about your video. Your legbeater seemed a bit slower and less scooped this time around. And I request these new DLO tricks on video. And I challenge you to step up and bsos dlo (if you haven't already in the last day or so).

EDIT:  far reverse whirl b2b was sick. forgot about that. I remember when I watched the video for the first time I said "YES!". and did my bobbing pointy finger thing I do when someone hits a good trick or combo.

hey, just watched the second of the two videos you posted, looking great! I liked all the reverse whirl tricks, and your pickups look good. with such good pickups, you could be doing whirls, just do pickup a bit faster and catch with clipper. easy!

hope you can make it to YEAH!

Hey, I just watched both vids you posted on this page. You've clearly got a lot of potential in my opinion >> plenty of athleticism, good "windows", and you have that footbag rhythm. I think if you resist the temptation to go for bigger tricks and take some challenges to to hit really both sided foundation runs with lots of variety for (say) a month, you'll blast off. It would take a ton of discipline because it looks like going for harder tricks might come naturally to you. But one month is a small price :-)

Here's one that you can do tons of different ways: 20 contacts mixing in the following >> butterflies, all mirages (clipper set same side, toe set same side, toe opposite side, pdx mirage), all illusions, all pickups, osis.

thanks for the response man.

i think you're deffinatly correct.

it's just when i learn a new move i get distracted but i think i would be able to hit bigger moves easier if i took a different concept to drill every night for a month or so.

thanks :)

Nice! That's cool that you're interested in the challenge. Of course, drills other than what I posted are good too, that was just an example. Maybe post some of your longest runs of that nature in a week or two so we can all see how it's going? I think I'll be annoyed (in a good way.. or at least a jealous way) to see that you're able to string for as long as you want within a few practices :-)

just wanted to let you know that I tried to go back to sleep after my exam this morning but I couldn't because I kept thinking of funny things we could say or do in a footbag video. I kept laughing so I just said screw it and decided to sit up and read emails and watch internet videos  .

sick spinning stuff. It looked pretty good from the video. Did you read my challenges? I shall challenge more if we shred this weekend.
