yo, i have some links that i hit today video posted in my blog , check it.

darkshredder 2 could come out over winter break, i have sony vegas 2 for editing and a nice camera. and a beautiful lakeside view. ;) but yea, i would totally be willing to film something epic for you.

i read your post above and i'm happy you havnt forgotten about me. :)

the reason i make you try new things is because thats the way i am and i rarely quit before i hit what i want. (unless i realize it's impossible at that moment.) it may not be the best mindset and it may wear me out a heck of a lot but its what i need to do. i like seeing progression and it's harder for me to see that in strings most of the time.

anywho.

happy shredding.

bye bye.

ugh Thanks Asmus. But it seems my cockiness ruined it for me. Today sucked for footbag. Ugh. Pissin' me off. The first clipper I hit I was like "Woah. that felt weird. This is going to suck." - now I know what you're saying "Blah blah don't go in with a negative mindset". No. See it's a funny thing with me. I can sense it when my body is not in harmony with the footbag and I usually say "woof. what's up with that." but I'll usually find a way to keep upbeat and persevere through. In the old days, I would probably go and get an energy drink. Caffeine = instant desire and focus for footbag. But as I've said I'm trying to move away from that.

So I did my best to keep playing through the awkwardness and low-energy but nothing worked for me. I managed to hit a pretty descent drifter run with some pdx's and ended on a footed diving drifter (still haven't hit that  ). Pretty good stepping shuffle at one point too. But that's all. Nothing from my list of things was done.

:x god I hate that feeling. Footbag can be a real bitch sometimes. But I had the good sense to quit before I got too upset and I had a nice FREE dinner with my roommate. Sushi and these shrimp salad french pastry things that weren't too bad. So that was good, at least.

so I'm down, but not out!!! and I'll be at it again tomorrow!

@ Ben - Good to have you back on modified, man. About the video, I'd be totally down for that. Maybe not a DARKSHRED but we should definitely do a Syracuse Footbag representation  . Carousel Mall Stylie. Show em how we do in CNY. Nice good sized video would be cool. It'd be sweet if we could get Doug to drive into the area and hack. That'd actually be a really sweet video. You've got a fan base, Doug's been on a few videos as well, and people apparently read my blog so they kind of know what I can do

anyway that's all for me. I've got to edit my short story and then play some wii. I got the new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenchaichi 3 - the best fighting game for the wii. Really really good. Online gameplay, revamped (and very well done) gameplay, and even more characters! woo!

i reckon i'll have me some of the big'uns.

what?

nothing.

i hate when the bag hits my foot for the first time and i get that feeling of "yep, something is way off" but the feeling of some sessions where the first move you do makes you feel like footbag is the most natural movement in the universe, and its what you were made for totally makes up for those other sessions

ha. silly rabbit. I WAS going to do all those things on the list the other day but couldn't. The above post (above yourn) explains my pain and agony.

Just had a nice recovery session though. After a nice small meal, I headed off to the gym for a bit o' hack. And was pleased. This is what she did with my feet:

 vertigo midstring. woooord. 8) and I had warmed up for it by hitting the trick singly a couple times. Yay.
 gee whiz. Thanks Asmus. It's a fun trick.
 gee whiz > opp symp reverse whirl > blizzard
 8 or 9 paradons in a row. As clean as only Ben and I can. All you posers just try to keep up
 got bored with paradons (or tired. . .) and did 2 double pickups and a DDD.
 flip terrage > legbeater > blur > dimwalk > BARFRY (first nuke attempt of the night) > pdx whirl b2b > dyno > pdx whirl > hand catch and coughing because I start to laugh. I never do flip terrage.

just an overall decent session. Some nice long strings. Some real depressingly short strings. Some nice long gyro and symp runs - these two concepts are now officially my "style" tools.

I had a nice chat with some soccer player kids visiting from Morocco. I think they're here for some exchange camp thing. Anyway, they thought footbag was cool and made fun of me for the way I look when I duck and dive.

anyway tonight I'm finishing up my short story. I'm going to be up more or less all night but I hope I can finish and get a few hours before sunrise. Peace OUTTTT.

EDIT: I have a first page report up. And it only took 3.45 years!!!! WOO!

1) :P I wish I could go to Worlds. It'd be my first. If I can somehow get a job this summer that actually pays well (over minimum wage) and if I find the cheapest, seediest, most bad-ass cheap way of getting there, I calculate there will be a 33.32 (repeating, of course) % chance of me going.

2) No. Pissed off about it too. YEAH 1 was a lot of fun. Nah, but I'm going to be in LA during that time. So instead of freezing my ass off in Rochester playing with you legball champions, I'll be sittin' beach-side with a smoothie in my hand, listenin' to some phat island beats. . . playing footbag.

so aren't I just a load of disappointments this afternoon!?!?!? Woo! Anyway, I have two papers and a test due monday so I'm going to start and get a lot done with one today. But it says on my English Lit Final study guide to "make sure you eat well, exercise, and space out your time devoted to studying". . . so that's what I'm going to do. Well. I'm going to space out the time in between studying and writing papers, at least. I don't think I'll ever eat right, and I suppose footbag is exercise so that works too! See what I'm getting at here? I'm going to be playing footbag today. I just need to go to a few more classes, run to the store with my roommates, and take care of a few things around the room. Why am I tell you this? Ugh. . this blog is really going downhill fast.

hey I'm guessing I'll be seeing people like that in Santa Monica when I go there to shred shit up and down the boardwalk. Seems so long from now with papers and finals still up my ass. 11 days and I'll be LA-bound. It's going to go by so fast.

I forgot to mention this the other day. So this year I actually have a few friends and one of them is actually pretty high up in the social/political ladder on campus. He was involved in an election the other week - not running but organizing and counting ballets and that sort of thing. And so a while back he comes up to me and goes, "Oh hey Pat! You got a vote for the (so and so) election!" and I'm left confused. So he goes on: "Yeah apparently someone voted for you and put down on the ballet "that crazy hacky sack maniac"."

I wasn't running and I got a vote. Kinda makes you wonder if I could've won if I ran.

that's what I get all over the place. See, it's a really small campus. Some high schools I know of are bigger than this college (cough cough. . Ben Rea). And in the year and a half I've been here, SO many people have come to know me as "that hacky sack kid". And surprisingly enough, I don't like it. They're real douchebags about it and they freak out when they catch me doing something other than dance around in shorts with a ball. Oh it really grinds my gears. But not really. :P

so I have an ass-load of stuff I need to be doing today but I'd really like to use footbag as kind of a break between studying and slaving in the library (my third time walking into the library all semester  ). But I don't feel like accomplishing much so I'll just school some stuff and shred leisurely. I can't believe I can still nuke. Yesterday I hit matador on both sides again. I think the flip was incredibly pulled/scoopy/unclean but hey I was just glad to get a flip nuke that high. Take what you can, give nothing back!

This is going to sound odd but I hit the best toe whirl of my life. it was great. I think the link was pixie shuffle > pixie ss clip > blur > BEST toe whirl! > string. - - I stared the bag down the whole way up and down. I had so much time I had a conversation with it, informed it I would hit the trick, and assured it it would land in the center of the clipper instep. It obliged.

I also definitely + my gyro clip record. I was super spinny and zoomy today. Hit flip vortex again kind of midrun (there was only one guiltless trick before it to kind of work up momentum and speed. . ). Right after a run with loads of b2b drifters and a few pdx drifters thrown in.

toe shuffling was so-so today. I had one really good run that sauced smear and smudge, plo and dimwalk mixed in with some BOPs (maybe 3 or 4 contacts only  ) and some blurs.

atomic illusion is omlette, right? Yeah well I hit some funky stuff out of that.

double dex practice. I really want to get osis > barrage bsos. I'll be a very happy camper the day that happens. Unfortunately I've got bigger fish to fry than barrage. Namely, getting ps whirl solid on both sides, working more on blender (slooooow goings, my friends. I hate this trick. Sorry, Pete), and dialing vortex on both sides.

I finished my paper, got by my first final, and I've had a nice relaxing afternoon and evening playing wii, footbag, eating pork, etc. But now it's final #2 time. 8O peas

indeed I did sir. I was kind of disappointed you didn't show more. Like haze. I'd have liked that to see how high you got it. You do stepping ss mirages like you could do them in your sleep so I wasn't really surprised at all when you said you hit it. Pdx DLO in slow mo makes footbag players look like they're just suspended for a ridiculous amount of time and just flying over the bag. It's cool.

I'm tired. I'm going to see if I can play footbag for a longer session than usual. I'll shoot for three hours. I'll take things easy, warm up for a good long while, do kind of low-energy drills like toe shuffle. That sort of thing. Then end the session like footbaggers always do (except me): try new tricks. No classes. Reading day. Got a lot of studying done tonight. Should be good.

Hey Champ!
When you go to LA you should contact "Anne" on this forum.
She is from Denmark and really cool and good at footbag..

You can talk about how awesome I am while you play.
do kind of low-energy drills like toe shuffle.
Toe shuffle is not low-energy. Not in my world atleast..
Spin and Duck drills are low energy..

See you in Prague! Or I will cut your fingers off.
A girl said that to me today. If I drop out of school she will cut off all of my fingers.
8O

I am not planning on dropping out of school.

word! thianks. Yeah, Asmus. Stay in drugs, don't do school! And yes. Do haze and smog today. It will give me motivation to dial pdx dlo. . . and get my stepping set higher on my strong side (my flip is plenty high, for those of you who don't know my game that well)

Heh when I said toe shuffling I meant plo b2b and like. . trying to do a bunch of magellans and pixie ss mirages. Not really smears or pixie barrages b2b or something. Well. The way I do plo b2b really doesn't take up all that much energy. It's bending down and picking up the bag after every attempt that gets tiring  . Buuut that could just another piece of evidence of me just doing things low-energy to begin with. Not really attacking tricks and combos with as much intensity as I should.

yeah and Anne contacted ME like a month ago. The way it may work out is that she might be able to shred once or twice for small amounts of time because she is having some friends visit or something. Not sure. Either way it'll be a lot of fun. I pretty much know nothing about her. I hope she doesn't get weirded out by my online persona of IN YOUR FACE LOTS OF SMILEYS AND CAPITAL LETTERS and not want to meet.

if I have a good session today I'll post. Otherwise I'll probably see this blog in a couple days. Or tomorrow.

I'm all over the place posting in people's blogs. So I decided to write in my own. So yes. I'm sitting here procrastinating and listening to Avenged Sevenfold (meh) sipping coffee. I played today and I brought along a list of a bunch of my challenges.

I know why I don't do challenges. I SUCK at them and I get really mad. I was so drained from the ducking stuff. It was so forced. Wasn't feelin in the zone today. The 50 tiltless Matt told me to do was pretty fun. I found I couldn't really do too much genuine tiltless and I had to BOP sometimes so I wouldn't drop. If I just let myself go and do tiltless with some "bails" to guiltless I probably would've gotten 40 or more but I tried to do very systematic atw (in out) > atw (out in) > legover > atw (out in) blah blah drilly tiltless stuff and that just messes me up. The challenge is to do 50 and not be out of breath. I think I got that not out of breath thing covered. I found after trying to get 50 for like 7 or 8 tries (so close) I wasn't out of breath. My legs were just getting heavy really fast. Heh so maybe Matt needs to change his specifications.
-
swifter is a ridiculous trick. I remember Chris Dean trying to hit that a couple years ago and just being stumped up by it. I'm also trying it downtime. I can't get my head around mid or uptime or however you want to say it's done. Stepping farside swirl? How is that still swifter? The only way I see that trick is drifting swirl from toe or clipper. No if's and's or but's.
-
It was a pretty mediocre session overall. My legs are pretty sore. I did a few pretty nice atomic strings. All on flip. Nice.
-
anyway I need to go and study. I spent the last 10 minutes of the 2 hr session stretching so I can play more tomorrow hopefully. I'm in pretty decent shape right now - as in my knees aren't hurting all that much. The patella thing hasn't really come back. So I'm off. Go to the challenge section and add some stuff. It really will help me I think. Or it'll make me quit footbag. Either way. SO LONG! can't wait till Finals are over.
