So i went rock climbing in the Shawangunks this weekend. Its a huge long mountain range in New Paltz, NY with hundreds of routes. Its rated a world class climbing spot and it has all sorts of levels.

A lot of the climbs are multi-pitch, which means that you cannot ascend the route in one rope length. The highest climb i did was a route called Sixish, which was 3-pitches. It was close to 300ft tall. The exposure at the top of the cliff was amaaazing. You could see forever, and the fall foliage was spectacular. The weather was amazing too, 70 and sunny on saturday, and 75 and completley clear on sunday. One of the best weekends of my life.

I may not be at the Cornell jam all weekend because i was asked to go climbing again this weekend, all day on sunday doing some nice top rope climbs in Little Falls, NY. I think ill be up friday evening and stay till saturday till 5ish or so.

Not even sure if ill kick much. I just wanna see all my buds and have a few beers with them.

Josiah, glad we'll be seeing you this weekend. Rock climbing is the shit! I wish I did it more. the last time I did it was in Kingston, ON (before I knew Tom, coincidentally).

Is it your first? You still shreddin'? Is it snowing in Syracuse? Do you agree that the outdoor theater thing in Thorndon Park is the choicest shred spot in the area?

shoulda posted this earlier.

the session the other day was alright. i had no expectations since i hadn't played in so long. it felt nice to just be outside, get some sun and listen to some good tunes.

Just worked on feeling as smooth as possible and comfortable while i was playing. did mostly some long 2s and 3 drills, worked on breathing. worked on flip stepping and flip pixie some.

on another note, just got back from the climbing gym. got a really fun problem that was plaguing me last time i was there. worked on some endurance climbing and got two moves further on this 5.8 that i've been working on. i have a feeling that this climbing season will be a good one.

well...this sucks. GRASS has just became questionable.

I have $180 in my bank account, and that has to last me till May 7th. My lease ends then. The good thing is, that my landlord is cool and shes only make me pay rent for that week...but still, between that and the utilities, for the rest of this month, that'll be $140ish...so basically thats $40 for 26 days...good thing i have a house full of groceries...this sucks
