Sweating while playing

Post by frozenwalkway »

this just just a poll about sweating while playing. i usually don't sweat enough for it to get on the bag but I've played with some people who sweat a lot and it gets on the bag. so i was wondering what other people are like.

I'm guessing most of you will say depends but pick the one that applies to most normal sessions.

I can't say I'm the sweatiest person I shred with or have shredded with, but my sweat band often needs a good wringing out when I kick during the summer.

i can't say i've ever sweated while shredding. its not really a "real" sport, cause its not competitive. and i dont sweat at all, cause its just kicking a little bag around with my feet, and there's no sharing of the hack, its all one person til you drop, so its not good with flow and karma, so yeah i dont sweat

yeah, same as holly. i sweat a lot (im talking like a solid coating almost every session with excessive dripping during more intense, especially solo sessions) but i would have to wipe it all over my body to get the bag wet.

I sweat a good bit, but not to the point that the bag gets wet.

One of the guys that I play with sometimes sweats so much that by the end of the session there is a puddle around his feet 8O

I sweat within a few minutes of playing, same as that other Ben.
(:P)

I get really nasty every time I play. I don't sweat much for anything else, but I soak through my shirt, my undies and my shorts pretty much every time. I generally shred solo though, so that makes every session that much more intense.

I hate being sweaty. I'm so glad that I don't sweat much outisde of footbag.

Erik Chan on the other hand (and Andrew Grant, actually) both sweat like nobody I've ever scene before. ...except maybe Byrin Wyllie or Rory Dawson. Must be something in the water out in Canada west of Ontario.

I am a card holding member of the club of footbaggers who sweat enough that the bag is completely soaked.

Much like the two bens above me, I sweat within the first few minutes, and it just goes downhill from there. I've played sports that are rather intense (i.e. rugby) and I barely sweat a drop :?

When I first started playing it looked like I went swimming in the middle of my session. It was literally that bad. I haven't been sweating anywhere nearly as much now, but I can't really see a big difference since I usually wipe away my sweat with a towel while I'm playing.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, during a basketball game the other day, when I had to be there for pepband, we played at two games (boys and girls) and I got a few circles with me and a couple of kids that can kick the bag like 3-4 times. I was wearing a black shirt, and by the time I got home I had white marks all down my shirt. I had sweat to the point of getting salt stains all over my shirt, which I thought was pretty funny. There was a LOT too.

Ive been hit in the eye with sweat tons of times when Dan Klokow spins/spun(why no worlds Dan?). And Ive kicked with a couple people who seemed to sweat more than the rest. If I wear a certain pair of shorts all my fat belly sweat soaks down and makes it look like sweaty balls

I sweat like no other when i play, but thats usually only when i play solo, with a circle of like 3 others, my sweat generally dries before the bag reaches me again. Then i let loose. I usually have the shirt i was wearing before i started the session handy to wipe the sweat away form my face. But when i wear underarmor, i seldom have to worry about sweat, except for on my head, i guess...

We don't sweat. We *glow*

Seriously though, it's not that there's something in the water, it's that we have NO water. It's so dry here I could light a match on my knee skin. When we landed in orlando it felt immediately like someone had wrapped a wet blanket around me.

You don't get used to it. That's how I feel eight months out of the year.

When I do sweat, I sweat a lot, but that only seems to happen when I'm at tournaments, or having kicks with other serious freestylers and I'm pushing myself. The majority of time when I play alone or at local kicks, I play way within myself, only working on particular weak components or taking it fairly easy. Over the last couple of years my fitness has improved dramatically and that seems to have reduced my sweating a lot. I also think that because I work on my technique so much, rather than moves that are beyond me, I'm getting a lot more efficient at some moves (others are probably getting worse :( ) so I'm using less energy to hit stuff, so sweat less for that reason too.

I sweat I'd say a normal amount except...

I get god awful swampass. I usually have to change immediately out of my underwear after playing no matter what I'm doing or where I am cuz they get completely soaked.
