Applying Logos

i was just wondering how the many types of logos are put on custom bags.

i usually use a sharpie but im getting a custom made permanent ink stamper to try.
i was also trying to mill a very small piece of steel heating it and then branding the fabric. does anyone think it would work?

what do you think of my logo(avatar)?

Hay, I think ultrasuede will melt if heated.... I would suggest the custom stamp. I have seen everything you need to make a custom stamp yourself at joanne fabric. It is basically rubber material with a hard backing, you chose size, you simply use carbon paper to trace your pattern on the rubber like surface then you trim the rubber around it with special razer type tools available there as well...
Or you may just get one made,

Either way, I think stamping would be the way to go..

i draw with a fine-tipped sharpie. I've heard of people carving potatoes to make custom stamps.

Branding will weaken facile. Do not brand your facile.

holly that ink you use is pretty durable. I've had like 4-5 sessions with that splash blue/ marmalade radiation patterned bag and the logo is still there.

By the way your bags seriously kick ass.

A good way to make a stamp is go to the art store and get one of those light-brownish rubber erasers (a bit more durable than the pink kind). Then draw your logo on it. Next, carefully carve away all of the rubber surrounding your logo, and voila! Logo stamp!

Lol I just read jerab's post after mine and yeah, same idea. I prefer the rubber eraser only because it gives you a narrower handle instead of the traditional big stamp handle, and stamp base.

after christmas i'm going to get a textile marker which is supposed to stay on longer then a sharpie hopefully its works better, i'll let you know
