This ever happen to you? (Quantum Question)

So i get my new Quantums in the mail today, and I'm totally stoked. But when i open up the box i find that the eyelets and the Grey leather like material are not lined up right with the shoe. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the manufacture or anything, I still love the look of these shoes and they're still my favorite shred shoe, just wonder if anyone else has experienced this. Here are some pics to show what i mean.

It's kinda hard to see here, but the sections where the toe walls end are not alligned properly.

Here the right line of eyelets on the left shoe goes past where the left line ends. While the right shoe is pretty much symmetrical in that respect.

Heres a shot of the leather stitching on the heel.

This is a comparison between the left and right heels. As you can see, the stitching on the left one is off center by just tiny bit.

Just showing what i noticed. This happened to anyone else?

Obviously quantums aren't going to be the best put together shoe. They're made by a basically brand new company and only on their second version.

If you're going to nitpick that much (about the spacing of some stitching?) I would just stick with lavers.

I don't mean to bash you or anything, this topic just seems really... pointless?

it's not the spacing of the stitching. that shoe is stitched wrong. it's clearly off center. Hopefully, it won't affect your performance.

it doesn't look too extreme, and most people won't notice unless they look real, real close, which they probably won't.

my friends quantums are also slightly defected.

They fucked up a little on the stiching on the inside of his shoe but they dont look as defected as your pair.

I think the eyelets being off center would affect my playability because the toes box would be off center and when you crank your ankle to do a clipper it might not curl in the right direction(maybe).

But still, paying like a 100$ for a pair of defected shoes would piss me the fuck off!

Well i fixed that ankle curl problem with a brocka mod, which i was gonna do anyway. It's the only way i can get 100% crankability, and it's even better in Quantums. I have to say that while I'm playing i don't really notice the problems, so they're not a game killer. I hope freedom sees this thread, and hopefully in the future they'll be more careful with the manufacturing of the shoe. As i said earlier, i love Quantums, they're my favorite shred shoe hands down, and i would hate for the company that makes them to slack off and shove out a lower quality shoe. Anyways, i can't wait for the Quantum03.

Planet Footbag is the one that is producing, but not manufacturing. Pete is right, Freedom is just the North American dealer for Quantums.

I wouldn't see any defect on your toe sets with a wonky looking toebox. Let's remember, the toe box on Quantums are big and the walls recede further back then Lavers. With proper lacing, you won't have much of a problem. And it's not like you're relying on your toe walls for proper sets.

If you did a Brocka mod, then you shouldn't have a problem with the crank-shoe shift ratio, or whatever. Not that you should have a problem if you didn't do the brocka mod at all. Crank is crank.

I think this problem is purely aesthetical. It shouldn't have anything disturbing the performance of the shoe.

edit: I had a similar problem when I used to wear Lavers. My toe box looked a bit more uneven on my right foot than my left (which looked really even). However, it didn't really affect performance in my opinion.

yeah, i had problems with my quantums as well. When i was lacing them up the metal eyehole rings ahd shredded the laces and tehn a few of them fell off.. I was pissed but i shrugged it off.

I would that $100 shoes you jsut bought are defected but my quantums aren't really affected as all i did was replace the laces. But still..

Coming from a basketball player who owns too many expensive shoes, those look mangled. Back in the day I would go into a shoe store looking for the newest Air Jorden realease and find the majority of the pairs I try on to be totaly retarded. We're talking about $300 kicks here which were manufactured incorrectly. What I find most of the time is a misshaped sole; uneven and jagged rubber. Now you could be a bad-ass and just tough it out on this one but what you've found isn't pointless. Shoes are pumped out by the thousands everyday and are purchased more than any other item on earth. If you don't think it will affect your play then thats awesome but at least now you know to look out for your next shoe purchase.

I agree that semi-major defects are important, but if they are that minor I really don't see how it matters. I mean, if it the stitching starts coming apart or something I would complain mysellf, but whatever man. I'm not trying to argue, just saying what I feel.

Well, after a couple sessions in the shoes i can say that the little defects that are there a purely aesthetic. My performance hasn't been dampened so far, and my sets are just as good (though thats not saying much

) Anyways the only thing that would really bother me is the weird toe box, both of the shoes have a weird toe box thing going on, but i don't care. Just looking down at my feet while playing reminds me that they are my favorite shred shoe, no matter whats going on with them. They look dang cool to.

after i read this post i looked at my quantums and noticed they were un even aswell. i dont think it affects my shred so i wouldnt worry to much about it.
