I thought I lost all of my NYJ money until about like 5 minutes ago. Hilarious. Not while I was frantically searching, but y'know.
I mostly got clothes for Christmas. I got a little bit of money as well for NYJ. I think I'll probably barely scrape by in the money department if me and Cody bring some food with us.
I might play in a bit. I'm fucking TIRED though.
I started a footbag journal, with pages of records and then daily/weekly/monthly highlights. It's gonna be sick when it's finished. Leather bound with a ribbon bookmark. Sweet.
Sweet art supply store gift card. Can't wait to blow it on some gray markers. I've needed those for a long time. I need a darker skin tone just because I feel racist when I call my marker "flesh tone".

NYJ was fun.
Write up. Now.
December 27th:
Wake up. Hella excited to play footbag. I don't even think I was packed yet though, so I just threw some shred shorts into a carry on bag, grabbed a couple shirts, put on some jeans and shit. Not as excited as I was for worlds, although I seriously couldn't wait to see Dave play.
Anyways, Grant comes to get me and he gets stuck in my driveway. I had to push him out in my ultra grippy quantums. Joke. We went over to Cody's and played some pool, blah blah. I think Cody won and I won. I drank a Dr. Pepper because those taste good, especially from Cody's magical refrigerator. Not kidding. Come to Kansas Jam in march and find out. Cody's mom gets home and takes us to the airport. She's really funny, although I don't think she tries to be. I had to pay her there too. She booked the flight for us. So nice.
We get to the airport. There is seriously one of the biggest lines I have ever seen right in front of our gate. False alarm though, it only took like 5 minutes to get through security and all that jazz.
When we got into our gate, we played footbag for like 30 minutes. Played really bad but it was fun. Lots of people watched.
Then we get on our flight. I hate flying. I did read half of Of Mice and Men though. Good book.
Arrriiveeee in Chicago. Yippeeee!!! No problems. We were actually early I think. We were in like, the opposite terminal we needed to be in though, so it took forever to get to the terminal 1 baggage claim where Tom was supposed to pick us and Laroche up. Dave was supposed to be as well, but Goldberg gave him a ride. Whateva.
Cody, Grant, and I played footbag with Tom while we waited for Nick. Lots of people gave us props. "That's dope, boss!". lol.
It took forever to find Nick. It was worth it though.
Tom drove us around the city, telling us a lot of cool stuff. The Chicago fire of 1816 is really important. Maybe it's 1916. I'm kidding, it's not important. Or is it? Ask Tom. I saw the Sears tower, and then we went to eat at this awesome Chicago italian place. I got a kick ass panini, and talked to Nick and Tom. There was like 12 of us or something. Great fun.
After we ate, we all went to the Hotel (actually I think most people went to Zeke's). Got greeted by Zach Jahner and co. (Brandon Vasos and Kyle Moery I think). They were awesome. We played a bit of footbag, although Brandon fell asleep before we played. Zach has such an incredible style. He might be the best Zac(h)(k) shredder in the world!
Then we slept. I slept on the floor since this wasn't our actual room.
Enough writing for now. December 28th tomorrow or later maybe. Hard to say, I'm just too dangly.
EDIT:
December 28th:
Woke up at 9 AM with Zach and everybody else and went to the site right after breakfast. Was barely sore, but enough to have to work it out. Got there before most people did, but I think Cale was there and I warmed up with him and Evan. Plus some other guy who always spatched (what a great word, I've only heard Dave use it. It's when you roll the bag onto your toe) Papa Cleave. Bastard. Tried to use good form because Evan was in the circle. When he left I let it all hang out.
People started showing up around 11:30 or so. Dave shows up after most people. The room starts glowing and shit. I think he warms up and then somehow we end up in the same circle. I don't remember how. Whatever. Laroche was also in the circle. Everything he does looks so great.
I think the sign-up for circle contest broke up our circle. My pool was Henry, Dave, Evan, and Me. Apparently I beat Henry (fluke!) and tied Evan, but he beat me on execution (fluke! Evan sucks). After circle Dave asked if I wanted to play. Dave said something yesterday about Him and I playing the most out of everybody at the tournament. I think he was right. Anyways, we played and he hit some cool stuff. I'm sure he'll either tell you or not. I don't really remember it anyways. Bevier joined it after a bit, but I was so incredibly hungry I couldn't do anything. I was shaking I think.
So we went to get some pulled pork sandwiches. Great idea from Dave. He showed me some magic tricks. He's got some pretty cool ones. I also got some fresh-ass lemonade. Yum. Bowler and somebody else came too. Pete is really funny. We hung out after we ate our messy sandwiches and watched Dave do some magic. Afterwards I just played footbag until the event site closed down. Goldberg booked a room again because he's awesome.
I went up to the CiC suite and played a game of monopoly with Nick (who absolutely loves the game, as do I), Cody, Cody, and moi. Cody C. won, but I got second. Very cutthroat. More hanging out ensued and then we went to the shred room, where we shredded. I played like ass but still had fun. I competed in 4 Square but played absolutely terribly. Goldberg won so we just went up and played monopoly with Henry and Nick. Henry won by an awesome default (everybody voted for him out of pity).
Maybe we went to the grocery store where Mathieu bought Rock Band? Apparently it's really expensive so he bought it here and had it checked as a bag. Mathieu is crazy and so nonchalant.
Mike Hansen drove us and me and Nick bought some Hansen's Cherry Vanilla organic Soda. It was quite good.
Actually that was another day. Whatever.
I think I hung out and slept instead.

Ah, thanks Tom. 1871, 1816, what's the difference? I feel the same about your style, actually!
lol. Dangly story coming up.
December 29th:
Wake up at 9 again. Sore as fuck. INCREDIBLY sore. Most sore I have ever been. Sore throat and a runny nose and a headache and a bad mood. Boo. Went to the event site a tad bit early and watched some net. I don't think I could ever do that. I joined a small circle of hackers a warmed up a bit. I think I wowed a few of them with pixie paradon. I finished warming up with Flash because he was all alone.
Played footbag with Dave and Flash I think until sick 1 and 3 started. I watched Dave practice what he was gonna do and stuff. Also had a sick 1/3 practice with Nick and Mathieu. I decided on Pixie Paradon as a safety and then hit something harder (hopefully). Cody was up first and hit a super easy looking Quantum Diving Butter. It was ridiculous. First try. Really set the bar. I was next and I wasn't really nervous. I was just like, "well, shit. I'm gonna get last". So I hit Pixie Paradon and then tried Pixie Blender a couple dropped times, tried pixie flux, and hit Pixie Blender. Not my best performance of the tournament. I think the ranks were: 1. Dave - Whirlwalk Swirl 2. Evan - Zoid Ducking Torque 3. Bevier - Fairy ss Miraging Flail.
Sick 3 was next. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do. None at all. Cody was still up first though so he hit Slap>Tapdown>Ripwalk 2nd try. whatever. I went up, still not knowing what to do. I figured I would do BS Smear something, but I dropped BS Smear a couple times. Next try I hit Pixie Tap>Pixie Paradon>Blender. Exciting. It was iffy I think, but I was happy. I had another try to burn, so I figured I would try something I'd never hit before. Phoenix>Ripwalk>Blurriest. Nothing questionable about it. It is kinda boring though. Dave and Evan both got something ridiculous. Nick got third I believe. Lots of cool sick 3's.
After that I think Dave and I had a circle, and then Nick, Mike, Mathieu and I went to the grocery store. Where we bought the Hansen's soda. Fancy fancy. We got back and went to the CIC suite. Everybody ate my candy. Bastards.
We played a game of monopoly where the ante was 5 bucks. Jon, Jeff, Nick and I all put in some cash. Nick paid his hotel with his winnings, which I thought was pretty funny. Afterwards I think most of us went down to the shred room and shredified until combo generator. I got to the 2nd round in the first one and then it was too hard. I fucking hate Merkon. Every single combo had Merkon. Grr.
After Combo generator I just played 2 Square and footbag. Dave is sooooo good. You have no idea if you haven't played with him. Superduperfly on command? I don't think I saw him drop one. SHIT.
Played until the wee hours of the night until Dave finished on this ridiculous link that will be in Mathieu's video. Vernon the security guard kicked us out. Dave picked up a small thing of weed I think so the security guard wouldn't get it. What a good samaritan.
Dave was hungry so I got some bread out of my room and took it to his. Dave, Jay, Henry, Colin, Ben, and Evan makes for a really funny room. We ate polish sausages, made jokes, etc. Hilarious. We also went to the sauna where there was a deep conversation about where footbag is going and BAP. Dave and I were sweat brothers. Evan and Ben took FOREVER to sweat. It was ridiculous.
We went back and ate Polish sausages. Bowler gave me a free pepsi that he got out of the machine by magic. Crazy locksmiths.
We ate and ate and ate. Dave gave Jay his lacing and Jay totally freaked out. "This is the best thing that has ever happened to me!" It freaked him out so much he had to play at 2 in the morning. We all went out to watch. Jay really liked his lacing.
I don't really know how to tell this story.
I get up in my socks and ripped up jeans and started doing a couple toe stalls. Jay, out of nowhere, goes "HOW DO YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELF?! You don't cut your hair, you don't cut your fingernails, your jeans are ripped up, your room's a mess, you're just so damn dangly!"
I'm hnot sure if he was joking or not. But holy shit that was sooo funny. We laughed for like 2 hours about that. Actually I think we still are.
Wow.
We got kicked out of the hallway because of a noise complaint so we all went to bed at 4, joking ensued. I had a pillow and my hoodie to sleep with. lol. I woke up like 5 times during the night. Henry snores like a coffee machine,
I'll do the 30th in a bit. 29th was a full day.
lol. Dangly story coming up.

Thanks Ken. I had a lot of this already written out in my footbag journal, so it's not very hard.
It's ok Henry, it's ok. You probably just made out with too many guys.
"That's not possible!"
December 30th:
So yeah. Woke up like 5 times during the night, either cold, can't breathe, my back hurts, or my legs are spazzing out.
Everyone wakes up at 8:30 or so. I decide to go to my room (with my bread, damnit!) and eat breakfast. My room is already up, which is weird because they used to get up at like 10. Crazies. I eat breakfast and I'm like, "Dude I'm sick. Dude I wanna play footbag." So I go to the event site around 9:30. I think it opened at 9. Nobody is there, except for net players again. They're hardcore.
I watched net a bit. Zach Jahner sees me and he's like, "Are you sore?" and I'm like, "Hell yeah, are you?" and he's like, "No, let's play!" and I'm like, "Alright", but he's like, "Wait, I gotta do something." So he leaves. And uhhh... yeah. I play without him. Dave didn't play at all at the site I think.
I played a lot of footbag today I believe. Lots of talking that requires quotations too apparently.
I thought I lost my amaretta clavens for a while, I was freaking out a bit. It was in my shred short footbag pocket. It's on the inside and it looks like another testicle when I have a footbag in there. Hehe. I found it in a circle with Josh Raye, who has crazy shoes. Climas would kill me. I'm glad I don't play in mine.
btw, that's crazy Penske is playing in lavers now.
Anyways. I played a lot of footbag. The music sucked today I think. The day that they played ratatat rocked though. It was awesome. I played footbag fairly well, even though I was sick. I remember hitting smog bsos and being excited, freaking out and seeing the look on Mathieu's face was priceless.
Anyways. After we finished the footbag the event site (which was a lot of footbag) I went up to the room. Cody, Cody, Matt, and Grant were all being really antisocial. None of them really hung out with anybody and I felt sorry for them. Losers.
After I hung out in the room for a while I went down to the shred room and watched Dave do some RIDICULOUS stuff. Seriously. Oh my god. I almost wanted to play with him, but I felt like absolute shit after eating McDonald's with Nick and being sick. Way bad idea. I played some squares and filmed a couple clips of him on my phone instead. I also played some crab dodgebag with Alex, Henry, and Freddy. Alex is so easy to pick on. He's like 2.
After that I decided to stop being an ultimapussy and joined Dave playing which now included Ben Skaggs, who is hella good. The only thing I don't like is his Double Downs. Everything else is awesome. Especially stepping ducking.
Anyways. Dave offered me a chest bump after this one string. I declined and gave him a shoulder instead.
That was a fun circle even though I played like ass.
After a while people were saying we should walk to chinatown and get some chinese food. I wasn't hungry but figured fresh air (in Chicago? ha!) would do me some good so I decided to just go. It was a really fun walk. Many dangly jokes went down. This guy's 4 month old daughter almost froze to death in a car. Ohnoes.
(that's a story this "homeless" guy used to get money).
Anyways, we arrived at the place. I got to sit next to Mathieu, Holly, Bowler, Dat, and Tom. Bowler has ADD and it's easy to tell. Funny as fuckkkk. He broke some chopsticks and got a bag into Tom's tea. Hilarious. Anyways. I got some really good lemon raspberry tea thing, and then we walked back. Snowball fight, blah blah blah.
Went back to the shred room and watched Zeke own some squares for a bit. He's so ridiculously good. Wow.
Holly, Nick, Dave, Mathieu, Funk and I decided to play monopoly. It was a really fun game, even though Holly won. Dave thought I was a nerd because I always knew where the pieces were supposed to go. The next game Holly didn't play and we played with a 1 dollar ante. Nick won. Cheater. Fun though.
Afterwards I forgot to say bye to everybody because I was going to bed and I didn't realize fast enough that I wasn't going to see them again. So bye everybody, sorry about that. See you next year/next tournament you're at.
Thanks. I'll do a write up for the travel too, that was pretty interesting.
It's ok Henry, it's ok. You probably just made out with too many guys.

Ohnoes.

You've gotten so good since Worlds it's ridiculous. Keep it up. You are obviously training the right way, so don't change it.
My only advice would be to work on spinning. It'll really open up your game. And merkon will be easy.
