Not really the case at all.

However Ollie, using "gay" in a derogatory manner is definitely offensive specifically to gay people, and unless you're a homophobe, and intentionally trying to insult them, you should stop using the word. I know it's hard to understand, but just accept their word that it's offensive and show some respect, even if you can't understand why it's offensive. There are plenty of words you can replace it with anyway.

When my dad buys me stuff either without asking or after deliberately telling him I don't want it. I've got a BB gun sitting downstairs under a pile of junk collecting dust. I've now got two digital cameras because he just decided to go out and buy one without asking. He's buying me this stupid Fly Fusion thing (some stupid pen with a lens or sensor in it) after I repeatedly told him I couldn't use it in school (impractical, loud, no real reason to use it) and I don't want a $100 toy. Now he says he's going to buy me a cell phone, but instead of the one I want it's going to be a free one that comes with signing up for a service, because he doesn't have $100 for a phone (read above, to the part where he's going to buy me a stupid toy for $100 that I don't want, but he doesn't have money to buy a $100 cell phone). I'm not complaining about free stuff, but the fact that he's wasting a shitload of money on stuff that just sits there. He won't fucking take "no" for an answer. There's like no thought behind it either, he's not like "well he'll be happy about this, I hope he likes it" he's like "I'm just going to buy this."

Hey man, that's my pet peeve, and this is a thread about pet peeves. It kinda turned into more of a vent though since I didn't just want to say "my dad buys me things I don't like  " Sorry if it sounded whiny though. If you knew him you'd understand better, I guess.

Super glue. I'm sure every fucking person has gone through the bullshit that is super glue. Especially the the shit that comes out of the tube.

Sure, they work just fine and dandy with the first application. The second application. The third maybe. But when you get so much of the glue built up and stuck through the tube, it gets to you. You try to clear that gap out with a needle, or a thumbtack. Then what happens?

THE FUCKING SHIT BLOWS UP ON YOU AND COVERS EVERYTHING IT TOUCHES. It fuses onto your skin, your clothes, EVERYTHING.

And it doesn't stop there. All of that time and struggle you do in clearing the tube of hardened super glue actually pressures the aluminum that is holding the glue out even more, causing it to leak!

AGH I FUCKING HATE SUPER GLUE. I ruined a perfectly good footbag from this pos, and all I wanted to do was seal up a bleedhole. FUCK.

my biggest peeve is when your trying to have a conversation with someone and you can't get a word in edgewise and you have something you want to say but by the time you get a chance to say what you wanted to say.......you completely forget what you were going to say.It drives me INSANE!!!!!!!I'm also not a fan of super glue,I once glued two of my fingers to my forehead and it looked like i was simultanously giving everyone the finger and the thumbs up,not the proudest moment of my life....

Something I've noticed recently, which I find annoying, is people who list "music" as an interest. I'd like to find one person in the Western world who does not like listening to music. Deaf people don't count.

What about those of us who are musicians or know enough music theory that we can actively analyze music?

I don't know who you are, but why don't you say "playing the harmonica" as an interest, rather than "music?

Bringerofpie wrote: What about those of us who are musicians or know enough music theory that we can actively analyze music?
But are you interested in all music, or are you interested in specific aspects of music. Why not list the specific parts of music you're actually interested in?

People who blow a massive heat seeking fart in a crowded train/elevator/enclosed space. I nearly died of suffocation on the subway today. x(

Footbag players (or anyone in their respective game, really) that think *obviously* huge moves/combos are not that great or talk down on them. Modesty, to me, seems arrogance in disguise. And that's fucking annoying.
