Dunno if it still works or not, but I never really knew how to screw around with an FTP well enough to build a site. Plus I never started the club I was going to start like a year ago. If this solo club works out and somebody with actual brains wants to set up a site, pm me and I'll send you the username and pass and hopefully someone can make better use of that blank webpage than I can. Once again, I don't know if it still works or not.
I'm up for this, I guess...seems kinda goofy though.
As said before, I'm convinced its nearly impossible to coerce someone to footbag. In fact, doing so will deter them. Either they're interested and willing to put time in or they're not. Most of the time they'll just think you're showing off. In my case, I live in a liberal pot-smokin' college town with 37,000+ students and only one person besides me lists "footbag" as an activity on facebook. Thats 1 in 18,000 people. This is the pathetic state of the sport.
Hell, even 20 people list "skydiving" as an activity. Thats 10x more than footbag. If there were a schizophrenics club here in Iowa City, it would surely be more popular than footbag.
Its definitely not as simple as just "getting people to play with you". I played with one of my friends once, he almost got mirage down, but never bothered playing again.....cant say I didn't try. IN FACT, now that I have gotten good, my friends and I never even circle HACK anymore. They are put off by the fact that I play footbag. booohooo

I think this is a cool idea. Though there is another footbagger in the same valley as me, he's two towns away, so we don't get to kick together very often on account of school and distance. The majority of my sessions are solo, and i think having a tighter knit group to post highlights and such in would be beneficial.

Although i understand what you mean, i have to disagree. I like the fact that so few people play footbag, compared the the world. It makes for a tighter knit community, and it makes tournaments all the more enjoyable because it doesn't happen so many times a year. I would much rather have footbag recognized as a sport rather than have a lot of people play it.

Don't you think footbag would be more recognized, if more people played it? Seems to make sense. However cool this scene is, I would still rather casually play with my friends than random strangers met through the internet. I don't think it would be too much to ask if there were an average of 5-10 players a city, rather than 2 or 3. It'd still be a very small community. Right now, its just downright ridiculous.
