Trick that most represents footbag

Post by Psilocybe »

Footbag. Its a sport. Its a hobby. Its a lifestyle. Amidst all the ducking, spinning, and setting comes order.

Which move do you think contains the most "footbagness" and why? It should entail everything footbag represents to you. This could be speed, dexterity, or control. It might not be the hardest or the coolest. It may be a common move or one rarely done. But, when you see it perfectly executed you just know.

I'd have to say blurry whirl. It contains a set from clipper which is essential. A dex is done with each leg which is important because bothsidedness is hallmark to footbag. And the whirl just tops it off and the move ends up looking sooo footbaggy. Do b2b for extra effect.

my first thought was PS whirl. I bet I'm not the only one. power, speed, balance, finesse, hang time... it's got it all.

well, maybe now that I think about it, montage is a good one too for all those reasons.

I agree with Montage for obvious reasons. It looks totally badass. Controlled it looks impossible, it takes a shit ton of leg strength, and a lot of precision to spin and then get the bag over your head.

I agree with nemesis, when it's hit easy.

Reasoning: It's both sided. A very balanced trick. Legs look like a blur of flesh. It was once thought to be impossible, but now almost essential.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Triple Around The World. Casual hacky sackers usually know what ATW is, and can imagine how difficult TATW must be.

it is the most widley known trick.

most newbies dont know what PS even stands for or maybe not even paradox or symposium. but when you hear the name "nemesis" they may not know what the move actually is but they know its like... 8O

To sum up the elements of freestyle -- montage.
To show the essence of the game -- around the world.

I'de have the say that for me the trick would be Swirl. When done correctly it's incredibly controlled, and plus whenever i hit it i feel awesome, and i hit really consistently. It just feels and looks awesome.

First thing that occurred to me was Ripwalk. It's bothsided, not so complex that the average kicker wouldn't understand it, and is built on elements essential to anyone's game: stepping and butterfly. Besides 4 add bails are fun :)

I'd say torque as well. Every time I see a torque I think footbag badassness!
