My sister used to have 2, I think. Aren't those the kind of fish that like eat each other unless they're separated?

Danny Crane

I forget the name of those fish right now but it's not them. Unless there's multiple ones.

Yes, the males will fight if there are more than one in a tank. ( they're also known as Siamese fighting fish because of this ). However, females can be housed together if there is enough space.

Denny Crane was my second choice in a name for him....

You should train it to be a warrior. Make it swim against the current and keep it hungry. Only feed it high protein bits of beef stroganoff every 2 weeks. Than have a fish battle royalle in your bathtub- videotape it and post it for all to enjoy.

I still remember the day of the fifth grade carnival. Every year at my elementary school, the teachers and parents would put on a giant festival of games and food and prizes that was pretty much the best thing a fifth grader could hope for. Naturally, at one of the carnival games, you had to throw ping pong balls into cups filled with water. If you got one in, you won a goldfish.

Of course, my friends and I wanted the most, so we played over and over until I had about 10, which was the most I could carry without dropping any. I showed my mom, who rushed me home so that we could put them in my new fish tank so none of them would die in their little plastic baggies.

I watched them swim around for about an hour or so before my mom drove me to a friend's house to play football. I had never had a pet before and I was thrilled to have 10!

Hours went by, and my mom picked me up. We pulled into the driveway and I ran into the house and up the stairs to my room. When I got there, I found ten gold fish heads floating in my fish tank, each with their bony spine still attached where their body was supposed to be. But wait, one fish wasn't dead, how is that possible?

That is because my brother thought it would be hilarious to take his Siamese fighting fish he had gotten weeks prior and put it in my tank so that it would go ape shit and unleash a can of whoopass on all of my defenseless goldfish. Needless to say, he is still an asshole and they are called Siamese Fighting Fish.

I'm looking for a lightly coloured crown-tailed female, if anyone knows where I might be able to pick one up I'd greatly appreciate it.
