Hey Matt. Just listened to the 4 tracks. First of all, you know you can put 6 tracks on myspace now yeah? Ok just checking.

Ok so,

you guys sound tight, that's good.
also nothing was like.. out of tune thats good too
unfortunatly the overall feeling of the music,
for me, was nothing new, and not much replay value
I think it was the traditionalness of the vocals
combined with the standard guitar solos.
your voice reminds me of jim morrison though
and i really dug the beatbox with the drums
sorry its not a good review, i figured u would want the truth
plus im an electro music whore anyway
im about to go get fucked in the ass by ableton live 7
which has been fucking me in the ass since yesterday
one day il be the top, not the bottom.

aight man good luck and i hope something good came from this
like putting 2 more songs on myspace

FIRST POST

peace,

I wish you liked it, but it's okay that you don't.

There's more to come, maybe you'll like that.

Thanks for jumping on it so quick!

I agree with Sam in a lot of places, but I'll start out by saying that the songs kicks ass!

With that said, I agree the vocal's were a little bland. Is that you? Maybe I just don't like the pitch you were using. Too monotone I guess, I dunno. But the instrumental's rocked you guys sounded really good.

With that said, I'm not sure I will go back to listen again. Partially because it isn't my type of rock, partially because it is what I basically expected it to be.

I like it a lot, Matt. :D

It's much better live though. I really like the lyrics you come up with.

I loved it. I'm really into that rock/bebop fusion (or at least, that's what it sounded like). Also, talksinging is godly. 'Nuff said.

I'm not a big fan of the talking/rapping parts, but the music is really good. The best song is Victory Gin.

I'm only halfway through Victory Gin (the default song?)
I dig it, because I'm already a Matthew Cross fan, and this sounds like Matthew Cross with backup :D I never knew which were your own songs or covers of other bands, but I instantly recognized this and So Bright (haven't listened to that one yet) as songs I've heard you play before.

Maybe I'll post again when I've listened to them all.
Being in a band must be so much fun!

Also, it's funny; today I was remembering the video I filmed of you a year ago at KICKASS2 and thinking it would be neat to make a downloadable copy of that, like, 1.5 hours of footage/sound. (The same stuff I gave you on DVD I think?)

I like that I said I hope some baggers dig it in the original post, and the last two posters have confirmed that they do indeed dig it :)

I really appreciate everyone listening and being honest. Thank you.

Chad, it means a lot to have another guitar guy's approval, hope to jam with you at GRASS! Erik, you're my dog.... I never got those DVDs to work. I still have them, and I still have a shit computer. any ideas? I'm glad you like the new stuff, there's lots more to come.

thanks again, everyone !

It sucks  Just kidding. You guys have a real unique sound, I do believe. I don't think that the way you labeled yourselves on myspace as just 'Rock' is fitting, imo. My favorite song up there is "So Bright" but I like the other ones a lot too.

I like it. I would say it is rock and roll, as home in 1978 as it is in 2008. Timeless, like all the good bands.

I think once the singer gets used to the idea of selling themselves as a rock star, the vocals will carry more energy.

yes, although it doesnt have to be selling yourself and more like taking pride in the fact that the spotlight is on you

because you have to realize that spotlight really is on you

and you are the one who put it there

so its beneficial to stop being a little nervous or embarassed because you can take OWNERSHIP of your actions

this is something im working on with juggling and street performing

today i practiced freestyle rapping and beatboxing while juggling and i had a girl tell me that i was good

it was cool

wait where the hell am i.. i thought i was in my blog for a second

lol!

I added a 5th track, a song I wrote called Smile. I think it's one of our better songs, and I would have put it up right off the bat, but it had to be remastered to be a little smaller for myspace to tolerate it.

hope some baggers listen and like it!

It sucks, Just kidding.

I don't know that that applies online where you can't really hear the tone of voice or see any sort of facial or body language.

Thank you Mr. Piebringer, I was just about to say the same thing, only a different way. Not a 'good' way though, so thanks for saving me the trouble.

Ok, putting that aside now, the new track rocks, Matt. There's definately a lot of different influences I hear, like at first it's, for lack of a better word, latin-y sounding, then it slowly turns into this weird slow, rockish, swaying sound at about 2:50. I really like the lyrics, too. I mean I can't make out all of them, but I like what I hear and I like the general flow of the song. I wish I could write music like that, haha.
