so ... is eliot still taking pre-orders ...
?
seriously though, what is up with this?
i understand people get busy and priorities get re-addressed ... but this long without completion OR a further update is just plain disrespectful ... especially for the people who actually pre-ordered and PAID ...
.
for what it's worth, if i had have found this topic at the time, i would have pre-ordered too ... still would buy it if eliot re-emerges with the goodies

Hey, finally got mine today.
Does anyone know how to watch Where the Ripwalk Ends with the commentary? I watched Aggressive Grounds, but when I select either commentary off or on, it automatically starts the first video. Then after Aggressive Grounds ends, it just goes back to the main menu, so my only options seem to be to watch Aggressive Grounds without commentary, to watch Aggressive Grounds with commentary, and to watch Where the Ripwalk Ends without commentary...
I think I'll prolly write more somewhere else, but I'm both really impressed with this disc and really unimpressed. Impressed because the commentary on Aggressive Grounds was really well done -- I just mean the talking (as opposed to the cuts between audio where at first I was confused if it was more than just Eli talking). It feels like the commentary for a movie on DVD. Unimpressed because, it feels like it was just slapped together. The case is kinda nice, but the disc inside is just a regular DVD with words written in marker. The menu of the DVD is also just like something slapped together with freeware.
Overall I'd really love this... if I could just get to watch Where the Ripwalk Ends with commentary
EDIT: Ended up watching the commentary, but I had to run a different audio track rather than just choosing "on" at the menu. I'd still like to know if anyone's been able to do that and how.
Commentary on Ripwalk wasn't nearly as good. Not enough commentary on the actual video, and too much on footbag in general (and current footbag)...and snowboarding. Not that that's bad, I just really, really liked the style of the "Grounds" commentary. I did like the outro and shout outs at the end, though. The commentary on "Grounds" kind of made footbag seem awesome, like showcased THE BEST of what footbag can be. And not only because Eli talked about the roots of the sport and stuff, but it was the stuff about, like, the camping trips, and all of the traveling and everything that kind of made me feel like I've squandered my time in footbag, and like I really need to just go tour the U.S.A. for months just for footbag before it's too late for me (living in Central Canada kind of really sucks for footbag...). That's how inspiring the commentary on "Grounds" was. So thanks Eli. You've always been a huge inspiration.

Start Ripwalk from the opening menu, then use the 'menu' button to go in and turn it to commentary. Hitting play again should make it run from that spot with the commentary.
I really liked this DVD. Probably more than any I've owned. The commentary give so much more weight to what's happening than any soundtrack could.
I always thought that Shred vids would be better if they were half documentaries as well. This was really good. I'll probably say more when I watch them again.
