I'm not sure what to think of your videos the first day I watch them, because I always pick out different tricks or links and almost ''appreciate'' them for how, insanely controlled you must be to execute them.
All in all, after watching this video for the last few days, I can't begin to describe how amazed I am by the fact that you are at such a high level.
Your legs look like elastic bands when you go from a symp double down to a symp furious set. I love it.

I don't know if this is what Jorden meant but I am very curious to see what happens what you get creative. I want to see some unique/rare moves and links from you and see what you come up with. I think that would be fun.Jorden wrote:

Actually, I thought something similar when I was playing around with that footbag utility that Ben Skaggs made. I was making up combos and they mostly came out sooooo original and cool, and thought, "Well... Dave should do those combos!" 'Cause you can.BenRea wrote:I am very curious to see what happens what you get creative. I want to see some unique/rare moves and links from you
I have no desire to invent tricks. I would rather express myself through hitting the tricks everyone knows with good style and control. I would rather hit two tricks back to back no one ever thought of. I would rather invent combos than tricks. I have invented a few moves and I don't really care about them, I am more happy with something like nuclear ss blender>pdx. whirling swirl, which isn't that hard, but I've never seen anyone else do it.
In other news, I haven't played in a few days, but the last time I did was pretty fun. Nothing great, just trying to keep the shit off the ground.
Sometimes I get really tired of hearing about people stitching. Like, its almost insane that people spend more time sewing than playing, and I know that is a fact for a handful of people. It just seems weird and I don't know if its great for the sport, these people who just hang out and stitch and buy a lot of shoes. I don't know, but its like skateboarding, those kids who just want to be part of something so they put a lot of money in the sport. Maybe footbag needs a lot of those kids, so who I am to diss teenage boys who really like to sew. And I am one of them, for the record, but I try to play a lot more than I sew.
Anyway, I'm going to South Jersey tonight to can for thon. Canning = raising money in coffee cans for thon, which is this thing at my college for raising money for kids with cancer. Thought it would be a good use of my weekend, I went a few weeks ago and it was fun. I am going with kids from the Penn State Marketing Association.
I'm trying to say hi to people I sit next to in classes.
Have a good weekend.

It must be easier than quoting.

Dave, I agree with your combo over trick preferences. Hitting combos nobody does is > than tricks nobody does.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Hi Dave,
This is probably the first time I have posted in your blog. I really enjoy the videos you put out and your thoughts on flipsider were nice to read.
I have two questions:
1. Have you considered making any instructional materials for footbag, like a DVD or a manual? I'm sure many players would benefit from your thoughts on technique and examples of how to hit tricks "with good style and control." Just a suggestion.
2. Would you be willing to sell me a bag (I live in Japan)? I am interested in trying a non-lead bag recently.
Thanks.

Hey Clavens,
I watched your last video a while ago, I just don't post much on modified anymore so I didn't comment. Plus you have IM, so why bother. However, I did want to address your recent differences in how you play. Starting from the beginning - Originally, through your first basement videos, all the way up to worlds this previous year, you played as if you were trying to prove something. You obviously did, but it didn't mean much to you. Whatever you did this winter and the previous fall, I think it helped a lot. You don't seem to be playing to "battle" other players anymore. I'll say it straight out that I never enjoyed a run, no matter how great it was from you, if you were frustrated at the end with yourself. Now that there is more enjoyment from you playing, and less anger involved, your game's exponentially better. Now, it's not only a treat to watch you play, but watch the enjoyment you get out of it. Continue doing what makes you, and nobody else, satisfied. It will keep your game original, and not what anyone else would like to turn it into. Anyway bro, keep up whatever is making you progress, because it's working.
Peace.

I will use some of these tomorrow. Any other advice on air freshening, please let me know. I can no longer hang my sweaty clothes outside and this leaves me with a bit of a rank room.

when i was a kid i was in the ucla dorms for a summer with a computer summer camp, its actually where i first saw a hack circle and kicked
but all we did was stack our furniture up in crazy ways, like put extra couches and stuff in there, it was soo cool. we actually beta tested ultima online then !! it was very cool.
so yes, do laundry daily or get a locker somewhere... man that is a crazy delima. stack up your furniture!! you know what would be really cool? a bunk bed next to a 'desk on top of a desk'. hypothetically there could be a computer on each desk that would line up with whoever was sitting on each of the beds.
