Fun(k?)tastics was a lot of fun. I met a ton of new people and it really motivated me to raise my level of play seeing guys like Flash, Clavens, Sunil, Irish, and Vasek busting out. On the last day, I asked Vasek to sign my leftover 100 kurona I had from when I was in the czech republic not long ago. So of course he wrote Vasek and then ty kurvo underneath it and would not tell me what it translated to. I asked Honza and he said it meant you bitch, lol Vasek is such a clown. Whenever he drank he provided us all endless entertainment. I also tried playing net and although I took a few dozen shots off of the ankle I had a lot of fun. I even got to smoke a spliff or two with the Montreal net crew. Everyone was super cool and it was a great time, so big ups to Joe and Brenda for a great tourney.
got my friends to have a hack circle with one of my footbags (gotta break it in right?
). After laying the ground rules to save the bags life, like no toe pick ups, we had a ton of fun and ended up playing four square. Game never gets old, even people who have trouble kicking it more than 5 times are still competitive.
Played at barretts nyu dorm yesterday with him and Weylon. I played solo the day before after lifting and played horrible (mostly due to lack of energy) and today's session was so much better. Barrett is moving out in a couple weeks and we decided to take advantage of the indoor space (otherwise we're going to have to rent out dick shays).
I was feeling really good about my basics and I noticed some noticeable improvement in my flipside. My string length is getting better and my ducks are coming along. I'm hitting ducking clipper both sides now and it feels good to bsos that trick although I still haven't hit it back to back (footed though). My sets are still all one sided, but thats ok since I'm not good enough to be shuffling anyway. Once my flip clipper, mirages, and atw is up to par then maybe we'll see what we can do. My stepping set suddenly clicked and I started hitting stepping ss moves, which was sweet.
Footbag is so exciting sometimes and completely sucks other times when you can't perform to the peeks of your skill level all the time. My battery is low in class so here are the new moves I hit that I remember:
Ducking/diving butters and clippers
ps mirage
Sidewalk
Stepping ss mirage
Gyro/spinning (not sure) pickup
Gyro/spinning legover (footed)
Gonna keep drilling clippers, ducking, single dexes, and spinning. FOOTBAG HUZZAH!

Had a huge session at Dick Shea's with nyfa, and pretty much everyone came, literally. All I have to say is that I hope Matt and Xander come to every session because they are so good! It really is so motivating to see people with that kind of control; Matt even busted sailing ss dlo his last trick of the day when only he and I were left in the circle. I don't even think anyone else noticed which is ridiculous to me.
I played pretty crappy overall. I was way hungover from my friends birthday party and I started lifting the day before (and did squats and deadlifts, so I basically couldn't move) which really hindered my play badly. I felt awful the whole time but decided to play anyone since it was a great atmosphere.
It was damn hot though and I could feel the alcohol sweating out through my pores and my whole body ached but no one likes the guy making excuses about random shit so I tried staying positive and helping other people out. I don't think I hit anything great but I have to say that Dave is great help to have at sessions; he gave me some tips on dlo and always gives me helpful advice that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. So props to him for being the man.
I can't remember any good strings that I hit, but I footed paradox blender a bunch of times which is pretty cool. I'm still very onesided with whirl moves though.
On a brighter note, I went to an open bar hosted by my friends sorority and saw a girl that I used to have a crush on at school. We ended up hanging out the whole night and I walked her home and kissed her goodnight. I hope that develops a little further but we'll see.
Peace!
ps. comments are always cool, don't be shy!

Hey Brian,
Thanks for your comments in my blog. I totally needed a fuckin' wake up call dude! I'm like the living twig and whatever.
What do you recommend in terms of diet? I want to gain some weight and build some muscles, but I don't know what would be a good source of protein. I know about lentils, meat and flax, but do you recommend protein drinks?
Also, what types of weights and reps to build muscles for both calves and upper body?
Get well buddy. Heal that toe! NYFA needs you to kick!
Also, watch out for ongoing cars in the future.

Wow, it's been forever since I've written in this thing, and I totally didn't even see that waylon bumped it. Waylon, I actually have a fitness blog that I keep track of my progress (diet, excercise, etc.). IM me at bdams19 and I'll link you to it, but the only reason I'm not including it is because my goals are different than yours (ie. you want to gain weight and I am trying to lose weight) so it probably won't be as informative as a discussion.
Speaking of diet and excercise, I have been in Atlantis (bahamas) since sunday for a "business"' trip. Hoooly shiet, I have been eating so poorly, basically indulging in everything delicious, and drinking rum all day, but it is totally worth it. Everything is massively expensive here since Atlantis is basically the fuckin real deal and they know that you aren't gonna leave so they price things all crazy (12 oz bottle of water 4.50, sushi dinner for 8 $1300 !!!). But I don't have to pay for much since my parents and all their friends ball out like only business owners can.
I had a session today for about an hour poolside, which was very draining in the heat. I had a bunch of people stop and tell me how I'm really good or how it was cool which was great cause I didn't get any annoying soccer ball comments or anything like that
. I hit a bunch of cool links which I can't remember off the top of my head, like blender> far legover> toe whirl. I think I hit ducking same side butterfly again, not sure what its called.
My form in g units feels so much cleaner than with lavers, which a lot of the time allowed me to be sloppier and get away with it where the g units do not. My clipper form is getting much better and I've realized that I really have to go back to basics before I can move onto anything harder. I also noticed that I fall into this groove of doing the same tricks, which is annoying because I know I can consistantly hit more than that but yet I always tend to do the same links out of certain tricks. This is a habit that I need to break, but at the same time I was often trying to just keep the bag up when people were watching, so I can't beat myself up too much.
I'll probably get in a few more sessions while I'm here, this place is phenomenal! I'll be sure to throw up some pics when I get back. Peace!
