help request from mods (or other tech savvy player)

Post by Rieferman »

Hey mods, Sorry for mass message, wasn't sure who would be best to help out here.

Philly Footworks website recently died (finally). At first I was really upset because I didn't have a copy of the 'event organizers guide' that I wrote a long time back >> not to give myself props, but the guide is one of the best guides for hosting an event that I've seen.

Well, Iron Clad Ben was nice enough to notify me that Eli still had a copy up on Flipsider. Since I originally wrote it in MS Word, and did all the links with "bookmarks" I think the document is a little clunky and could use some technical assistance (convert to html or something?).

It's here: http://www.flipsider.com/know/advice/to ... _guide.php

I personally think this is something we should permanently host and make available here on modified (back in the day, I tried to get it hosted on .org, but for some reason or another that was rejected.. I honestly can't remember why)

Can any of you help?

Anyone? Really think with the number of new younger players running events that this is a valuable resource that should be saved. I've received MANY PM's and emails telling me that it has helped people run events. I'm a technology idiot (and others would say an idiot in general ha ha), so I need your help.

Well, the only thing that I can think of to have it directly on Modified is to just copy and paste the text. My experience is that it doesn't really allow you to post HTML, which would make it really easy and I could do it in, like, 15 minutes, but HTML stopped working for me in posts years ago.

How about letting it live on Hackrifice, and we can link to it?

Oops. Meant to reply to this earlier.

This came up when Emily linked to your thread and she mentioned it to me. I'm gonna put this stuff up on the .ORG wiki and fix up the link in your thread. All is well.

That's a great writeup, by the way.

Awesome, thanks Colin! Please post the path to the file here once you're done (and maybe in the journies to tournies section under the post that brad stickied long ago)
