Think of the solo players, think of the small scenes, think of the far reaching parts of the planet that are very lacking in terms of competition.
You don't have to take part if you don't want to. But I know I will. My first time competing I didn't plan a shred30 and it just sucked and I regret that... a year between comps is a long time to be looking forward to doing a real shred30.

1. This will be a reason for everyone to practice shred30 more than once a year or when they can afford to go to a tounrnament.
2. This is a good way to push the limits of the shred30 competition and find out what is really possible, something you will never get from tournement condition shred30.
3. Many people are not confident enough to compete shred30 or are unable to make it to an event because of their situation - this gives them too a chance to take part in one of the main forms of footbag competition.
4. This will improve peoples games, the whole idea of the shred30 competition encourages uniqueness, string length, consistancy, clean execution, high level of fitness - all things that I for one would like to see improve in my game, and shred30 is a great way to work on these things.
5. I think a lot more mathmatics could go into shred30 than already does. A tournement shred30 will always be someone's safety, but I think some people in the community are capable of nutting out something close to the most efficient shred 30, doing this competition gives them a chance to do so.
I can see where you are coming from David, but I think the shred30 has changed from what it was origionally designed to be (a raw inpromptude shred competition), into a measure of someones ability to perform the most difficult preplanned string possible.

I wouldn't actually compete in shred 30, yet. But I agree with james, where I live there are like 2 players. Also, on the net you run into people who are equal with yourself and maybe somehow better which makes you train harder.james_dean wrote:Think of the solo players, think of the small scenes, think of the far reaching parts of the planet that are very lacking in terms of competition.

I'd still be in for a 2min routine
I could work on my routine and have fun... well that is when this knee thing clears. Plus I could totally rework my routine to be that much harder.
Cause this is my UNited States of Whatever!!
