so i played an alright session yesterday with justice. I took advice from the video i posted and worked getting the dexes clean and nice on illusions and atws. String length was actually pretty good on it all. I worked pretty much only on those three things and clipper.

Highlights:
 28 alternating clippers! yeah dude
 a few really clean illusions from my view
 really good string length
 I got a few more people into playing regularly! Met a few guys where we were playing who were interested in regular sessions. woo-hoo!

EDIT: woohoo! third page!

so i played on friday and while i didn't do too many specific drills, I tried to really relax and make all my moves fluid and linked up well. It actually helped my string length, and well over 15 contacts were had many a time. It was pretty sweet

So I played a session for a good hour and a half today, nothing great, but it was alright because i was breaking in the bag with the new stitch pattern and I'm liking it alright. my fear was that it was going to turn out like some bags I've played with that are kind of stiff after break in and I really don't like playing with those but this guy's loosening up well enough I think I can justify using the loop stitch on my hexes. The only issue now is how meticulous to be with my stitches hex to pent. Go through each layer well and separately? maybe for the bags I really want to care for and have for a while, but it does take a lot longer to do em that way. We shall see. maybe the next few will be careful bags and then when 24 breaks down, I'll see about how long it lasted and if it's satisfactory, then I will just go the lazyish way.

Highlights of the session though:
 shitty first part but I got better. Alternating clippers are feeling good, had a good few flip clippers. I think 10
 About 3 or 4 strings over 20 contacts. 30 is within reach! I must make it before Boston!
 i had a lot of good clean illusions

It wasn't the best session because a lot of people were playing so I couldn't really get down on it and drill and make myself better. It was really just keeping it up for a long time. Felt a little iffy. I think I was just a little off today. I was just trying to clean up everything and it was frustrating, but whatever. those are the footbag breaks. However, I did foot a well rotated torque, but I couldn't land it well. I'm so glad I'm finally getting the motion though. took me fo'ev'uh

So on wednesday I had a good two hour semisolo shred, and by semisolo i mean i played mostly alone but then some people came and kicked for a few minutes. The whole day I determinedly forced myself to play for consistency, relaxation and string length. all of those together are really hard to do. but i managed 4 or 5 lines of 20 contacts and i think one of slightly longer but i wasn't counting that one.

Highlights:
 Torque!!!!! beautifully done, I finally get how to do the bitch.
 better looking illusions, even midstring
 better stringlength even on shorter strings. I was getting consistently around 12 or more

that's about it except that I finally finished matt cross's facile and here's a picture of the bags

torque!? Props, Ian! And 20 contacts is nothing to scoff at ESPECIALLY if they are controlled. Are you going to GRASS?

So i played for a bout an hour and a half today but i just wasn't feeling it. I was really tired but I finally started to understand the key to long clipper strings and shortly after that, I got ten strong, ten weak clippers same string, and 20 alternating clippers in short order. other than that, nothing amazing, I was still going for string length. I got a good 25 contact string or so. It was a good time. The burger king afterward, maybe not so much haha

Played for about 2 and a bit hours today. It was a really good session though. so much better than yesterday. Got my 20 clippers out of the way pretty quickly and moved on to string length. I was playing with scott and wes and justice and they were doing well too.

HIGHLIGHTS!
 a 26 contact string! I know I've done longer but I managed to count this one as I went and that's higher than any I've counted before! I want to get 30 and then 50 so bad! Guaranteed before march or I will have to stop snowboarding and play daily til I get it.
 about 4 torques sealed cleanly into strings! I love torque when it comes out right and you feel the bag land.
 footed flip whirl, got a nice swirl, whirls make sense to me again, stepping clipper is easyish now, but I was trying to link it like ss butter>stepping same clipper and it was real hard.

umm not too much, mostly because I was working on strings, you know how it is. but I'm getting better and it's really quite thrilling.

I hope this post finds you in good spirits,
Are you schooling ducking at all? Those are fun sometimes. I challenge you to start or break a new ducking record! And um. I challenge you to make me a ducktape backpack so I can get kicked out of malls before I start playing footbag.

haha you got the backpack pat, I just gotta go get the materials. I've done a little ducking, but only single moves like ducking mirage and zulu near mirage and diving clipper. I'll work it more though. thanks!

had a really good session, and my first solo since getting back from boston on saturday.

Highlights:
 32 contact string. Hell yeah. Finally breaking through the contact barriers. 50 here I come
 starting working guiltless strings, but they're really hard. why didn't anyone tell me?! My record is about 3 right now
 got a lot of fun tricks that weren't linked, but they include legbeater, fairybeater, flo, fpu, swirl, whirl, fairy n. mirage, fear....pretty much alot of things with both up and downtime components which has been a challenge so that's pretty cool.

so i had a maybe hour long session or so today. just to keep active. snowboarding so much has cut into my footbag just because I want to progress at snowboarding when I can and that is winter time. kind of a bummer still, though, because footbag is pretty much just as fun as snowboarding, but there's no time constraints. umm so yeah it was a pretty good day.

Highlights
 another over 30 contact run. hoo rah! I am loving consistency.
 after the thirty I decided to move on to practising BOPS so I can start to slowly work them into my game
 same clipper>pdx mir>rpt plus a few drills afterward totalling 15 contacts with BOPS starting. that was the big thrill
 butterfly>pdx mir>rpt. So close to this, i footed the last contact and couldn't do it again

since it was a short session, that's a short list, but I'm pretty happy with it

so i had about a 2 and a half hour session today, which i needed, because that makes a grand total of 3.5 hours this week. lame ass. oh well. it was an alright session today. worked tiltless for a while until i got over 30 contacts, then went on to working some BOPS and three add moves. current record for BOPS, a drop on the fifth contact, but I'll get there eventually. I'll make it up to 10 or 15 by the time finals are over. today may have been kind of lame because I was working so hard on relaxing and taking things slowly and easily and really defining my moves and controlling my arms and body. It was just hard to do that all at once, but especially with butterflies and some clipper stuff, playing like Pat does has helped me a good amount. I know you don't like your style pat, but I love it.

HIGHLIIIIIGHTS!:
 butterfly>pdx mir rpt to more stringing
 5 infinities, new record
 31 contact tiltless, which for a day when I was hating my string length, felt really good, even if it is sub-record.
 nallegam>fairy near legover>feare
 near lo>lo>rpt>near pu>pu>rpt plus more after that (2 somewhat new drills, so that was thrilling)
 midstring torque, whirl, and swirl, but not in the same string because that would be waaay to awesome.

aaaand i think that's about it. At UVM, they have an option of putting together a program and getting dorm space devoted to it in a place called the living/learning building. I'm thinking of junior year, getting a footbag coalition in the midst of UVM, and see who might be interested. aside from that, I haven't really had any footbag related thoughts

so i think i'm gonna cool it on the whirls for a while, because my knee is starting to hurt, and i need that knee for snowboarding. i can whirl well, but my blazing set is what screws it up. unfortunately, it's the set I love the most but we'll see how it goes. oh well. just thought I'd post that little factoid.

Good idea dude. You should totally solidify downtime whirl before doing any blazing shizz. That way when you can whirl consistently you can hit blazing whirl and whirling whirl.... BSOS! YEAH!

p.s. love the bag, man! It plays like a charm!

somethings up with my legs. my left leg is hurting in a place that isn't shin splints and isn't my knee. I really hope it isn't a stress fracture, because I've been doing so well lately I don't want to stop. This all coming from the first session I've had in like almost two weeks. I've been slacking, but i went out and it was going great but a half hour in, my leg started hurting any time i put a bunch of weight on it to catch with my right foot. It was haarible. haha other than that it was a good session though and that was what pissed me off. I set a new lo record at 16. Not amazing, but it's a personal best.

FUCK MY LEGS! IF THEY"RE BROKEN, I'MA KILL EM!

well it's the first post in a long time but that's because it's my first play in a long time. I played for about an hour today and got pissed at my legs. I could only get about 17 alternating clippers and 19 legovers. my string length was averaging around 6, with a good one around 14. I guess it's a good place to come back to, because I know I can do alot better. I'll be playing every other day from this day forward for at least an hour, though, so hopefully I'll be back in shape by the time I see Doug and people this summer. I wish i could have more progress to show, but that's the way the cookie crumbles haha. I'm glad I played, just wish I was good at footbag. I will be! RARRR!

woo second round and I'm already starting to get back on track. Still a looong way to go though

Highlights:
 Something like a 30 tiltless combo. I lose count thinking past number 15, but I know of at least 3 4contact drills that I put in there, so I know I got over 27 contacts
 16 alternating clippers. Not great, especially since it was a fluke run of them, but closer and closer
 5 contact BOP/guiltless drill, with tiltless setups making it more like 7 or 8 contacts but a good ratio of guiltless moves.
 a general feeling of euphoria and bliss during certain parts of it. Maybe it's because I'm sick and I can't breathe well and the lack of oxygen going to my brain is blissing me out, but it's a crazy, hot, light feeling in my veins right now. Very Very cool

AHHH I think I experienced the same thing just now!!! After I gave up on flip vortex for a while I was winded, sweaty and completely out of breath so I just layed on the ground for a while and... well, its hard to explain but I saw what looked like steam. Like, ya know during the winter when it's cold and you can see your breath... well I basically saw that and was really confused. I just layed there staring at the ceiling and looking at this bizarre phenomenon of motion in front of my eyes..... it was cool 8) .

Another about hour long session today. Except this one wasn't bad.

Highlights:
 20 alternating clippers after many tries. That felt good
 bs symp mirage>(butter>pdx mir>rpt)
 4 infinities
 generally chill session

However, I had to stop early, a)because I was rull tired and b) more importantly, I was doing fairies and the bag shot out the window into a giant puddle and I didn't really want to play with a really wet bag. You understand
