MSN Spam virus

Any of you guys know how to get rid of that annoying MSN spam virus? My account keeps sending stupid links to everyone in my contact list.

No anti-virus nor anti-spyware I've tried so far has picked anything up.

Help?

I keep getting all excited that the famous Nick Laroche is sending me a message but every time I am crushed to discover that it's the virus your sicky-poo compy got.

I would also like your computer to be fixed.

Other wise try programs like AVG, Spybot search and destroy, ect ect.

Usually helps to turn off that windows rollback partition thingy before ridding a virus or spyware because they tend to reinstall after you restart because they save themselves in that partition.

It seems a bunch of you Montrealers have it. I keep getting them from Mathieu S.

Yeah I think Anssi had it a while ago, and gave it to me. I just ran all my virus and spyware programs twice each, and it fixed it

Alright I fixed it.

I uninstalled MSN and installed Trillian instead. That should solve the trick.

Hiya. ya virus is a big problem. do you use multi msn. what are the other ways to remove virus. if anyone know share here. is it trojan virus?

Seriously if you have any virus, update all your virus scanners, spy bot removers, ad aware stuff etc. and run them twice in a row. It is also a good idea to have multiple virus etc. scanners installed - even if you only have one doing your daily scanning, and the others are just there to run when you start having problems. I have 3 installed - avg runs every day (I think) and the others I just manually run when I think I have a virus, or every few months. Often when I run them all of them pick stuff up (usually fairly harmless stuff, but you don't want it running anyway).

I remove virus' for students and faculty where I work on university campus. You do not need to pay for good virus removal, simply download free programs, google for some of the good ones:

-malwarebytes
-SUPER antispyware
-combofix
-smitfraud
-aimfix
-AVG antivirus
^ are just a few of them.

Be sure to UPDATE their virus definitions, then run them in Windows Safe Mode, so that the virus' are not running and are able to be deleted easier.

Do keep in mind though that there are some programs out there - Antivirus 2009 i.e. - that are actually virus' misleading you into downloading them and paying for support you do not receive.
