bloughchi anyone ?
This thread has already gone on long enough, but I just have to put in my two cents. First of all, Blough-Chi sucks fat, bloated, hairy, sweaty, smelly donkey balls. Steve Blough simply took one too many hits of acid in the 60's and now he's a loon. Now shut up and give the guy a break. Second, to LordKindomUltimate, I am waiting for your apology to Mr. Shults as well. Your are a punk ass with no respect and if I were you I wouldn't let anybody know who you really are unless you start begging for forgivness as quickly as you can. You will get absolutely no respect from anybody in this sport unless you respect them first. All you will get from me is a nice big helping of gofuckyourself. Third, Ken you are too smart to waste your eloquence on anybody who already advocates Blough-Chi. Good post though.

I blouchied. I used to be so good at slicing the bag over my head. but as soon as you get from a super round bag (like the gladiator i had) to a sandbag with four panels, you lose most of that control. Its all good though, cause i decided that stalls kicked ass. And if i dont dance at dances, y would i do it when i kick?

My two cents
First off, I still very much consider myself to be a beginner. I've played on and off since about grade five (circle hack) but only this year have I been able to appreciate the mind-body link that's created with such an intricate physical activity such as footbag. At the beginning of this year I've emerged from a four year depression and I've found footbag is the optimal "sport" for a person such as myself. I've lost alot of weight since I've started and gained alot of self confidence. I've learned to appreciate the physical concentration involved. Anyways, that's just an introduction.
I think we shouldn't try to label different styles. "Freestyle" and "Bloughchi" share quite a few moves although they may have different names. But names are just names. I would consider my style, after four months of constant practice, an intricate mix of boughchi, freestyle, and even net or "long-range" as I like to call it. I'm a larger person (6'2" 225lbs) so I find that my mixed methods suit my body type and physical abilities. The point is: everyone will have a different style and nobody should limit themselves or others in what they can and cannot do. Why not just let everyone do whatever they like? The only skills and moves you should be monitoring are your own. There should be no hate in this sport seeing as how the only abilities that matter are your own. Every one will have their own style depending on their abilities and their local footbag peers, so why can't we all respect that?
I think that's all I wanted to say. Not quite as clear as I had hoped, but I hope you get my main ideas. Thank you!

Go to http://www.footbag.com to figure out the whole Bloughchi thing.. I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of these folks - even argued with the webmaster for awhile a few years back. I'm not going to get into that, but I do want to refresh this thread on another topic...
The hackers from Buffalo NY that were at Funtastik. They were kinda in that "footbag dance" sorta groove, but without being lame "bloughchi". Really.. They were fun to kick with. Playing it off their knees and really having fun being funky with it. I had a blast kicking around with them.
Now, I'm not reverting away from shred, but I was impressed and was glad to have met them. Plus it's the most I've seen Steve G. play (other than 4-square) in years.
Anyone care to comment?
