Taught a girl to produce a non-lateralized "ch" sound today. One of my biggest accomplishments as a Speech therapist, althougyh relatively meaningless according to her mother. "Good, honey."

Made a hearing impaired kindergarten child pout as I kicked him out of Speech to his classroom. Feel bad about that one, but he was being a jerk.

Fell asleep in office from 2:40-4:00pm. Now I'm suuuuuuuper tired. Great job Jeremy!

Going to Phoenix Open in less than 2 weeks, looking forward to that one.

Had my best net practice ever today. I was very intense throughout, and for the most part, my partners were as well. It was certainly my best spiking day- I hit about 10 screaming kills (probably 35-40 MPH) that were undiggable, a handful of excellent spikes that people footed or dug, and I was going for my shots all night instead of being tentative. It payed off today. I hit a couple of unlikely kills that made my partners (constant rotation) laugh out loud or get really pumped.

I am still riding a high from my performance at the Phoenix Open, where I placed 3rd in open singles and 4th in open doubles, even though the level of competition wasn't the greatest.

I am very motivated to lose about 10 lbs of extra weight and really push my game. Also, my left outside (in the 4 opportunities I let myself use it) bumped the serve very every time, and that was a pleasant surprise.

I wish ya'll could have seen those kills! It feels so amazing to kick that bag as hard as you can.

It's true. I triumphed over Terrible ted, Ted the Mercilous, Ted the Terrible. I dropped 3 bingos in that game I believe, plus "zeatin" for 53?

Another high intensity session. really focusing now on creating attainable goals for each session in order to increase feeling of success and confidence.

Tonight's goals:
1) Play aggressively when the opportunity presents itself
2) Hit at least 50 sweep serves
3) school placement and dink shots for improving singles game
4) maintain intensity and positive emotion

All goals achieved. Swung aggressively for almost all spikes (50 of 55 or so). Hit sweep serves all night long (at least 80-90) and 70% were in. Worked my placement in 3 games of singles. Never got down on myself and concentration lapsed only for 3-5 points (out of 40pts x 10 games=400 pts.).

Ripped a couple more spikes and had a chance to drill defense with PT. We stood 12 feet apart, and he hit line drive kicks at me while I "dug" them (i.e. returned them with bloopy kicks) > repeat for 15 minutes.

No, actually it is my room mate's mountain bike, which he leaves out in the frikkin living room because he's afraid to store it in the garage (continuously unlocked) and pretends he has no room in his room for it.

And Eric, I will likely have a freestyle session witrh you sometime over the next couple odf months, because I am returning to cardio workouts for my body and freestyle is a good way to get that accomplished. This is not to say that I'll be freestyling several times a week, but maybe once a month to keep up some skills. I'll give the SFC a holler if I plan on coming up on a Saturday.

Just came back from my first workout at a real gym since my undergrad days at UCSB (5.5 years ago now?). Felt good.

Worked lower back, quads, cardio, and chest, then more cardio and about 30 minutes of passive and active stretching. I got a 3 month free membership, during which I can attend 3 days a week. I will likely only attend once weekly or bi-weekly, however, because I typically play net or the other days I have the gym available. I'dlike to improve my bench press by 30 lbs., but quads in strength and endurance, and lose about 10 lbs. of body fat. Then I would feel like I was in better shape.

LOL, I don't blame him. I'm only comfortable locking my baby up on the back porch because it's 3 flights up, out of the way and there are 2 easier to "acquire" bikes before they can get to mine. Look at it this way, he can put it on a rack and then it's a "display" and not "parking"
